i hate the whole thing the internet is doing with canceling ppl over 'problematic' fiction. because. its fiction. thats the fucking point.

the entire point of fiction whether books or games or anything else is that it isnt real. its doing things that live outside of the real world. whether thats magic or just, horrifying acts from a different prespective. it doesnt live in the real world!!

and i dont think this only goes for deep complex fictions. i dont think a fiction has to actively display something as bad for you to be able to recognize it (again, lolita.) n i think this goes for things like fics too! i dont read fics with incest ships, it makes me uncomfortable n i dislike it. i dont think that means we should ban writing fics with that or harass people who do, because. its fiction. esp online. you can just block them and move on n. not read it

and yknow? sometimes fiction *may* affect the real world (rage is a good example of that) but. that doesnt mean its the authors fault imo. if you're in a place where fiction would inspire you to do something horrific and can recognize that, i think thats something you need to deal with personally.
