That's great! It actually features pretty heavily in my story Halo: Homecoming, but I'd be happy to see you put it into Reloaded too!
🤍🎧🎉🥊🍺 :)
🤍 - Favorite Halo character? - C'mon man, you know the answer to that question already haha
🎧 - Song you associate a Halo character with? - Big Boy by Durry for Jorge. Cause he's a big boy.
🎉 - Share your favorite character headcanon - Fred had a little brother who was very sick. It was a disease that was pretty easily treatable in the inner colonies, but for a small unwealthy family it wasn't a good spot. However, one of the ONI handlers felt guilty for stealing an actual child and decided to get the treatment set up for the little brother after kidnapping little Fred.
🥊 - Who are you beating the [crap] out of? - I wouldn't mind smacking Del Rio around a little bit. I have an OC who betrayed humanity in my story Homecoming who could do with getting hit a time or two as well.
🍺 - Who would you have a drink with? - I would go with pretty much any of the sergeants. Byrne, Stacker, Reynolds, Johnson, Forge, Geffen, etc.

I got into Halo from the books! I was in 7th grade and my friend got me to read The Fall of Reach and I have been stuck since!
I think my favorite game moment is the end of Halo 4. Definitely hits the hardest in the whole series.
The Autumn Class for sure, but I love the Two for Flinching and the carrier I came up with for my most recent Tom/Chyler story named Pour 'Em Strong.
✩ halo-based ask game will probably add more eventually :)
🌌 - what made you interested in halo? 🤍 - favourite halo character? 🖤 - least favourite halo character? 💘 - favourite canon/fanon ship? 💞 - favourite moment in a game? 💗 - favourite halo game? 💔 - least favourite halo game? 👽 - favourite covenant species? 🖥️ - favourite AI? 🚢 - favourite UNSC ship? 🗡️ - favourite weapon? 🛡️ - favourite armour? 💉 - flood, covenant, prometheans, or the banished? 🤖 - orion project, spartan IIs, spartan IIIs, or spartan IVs? ⚙️ - marines, odsts, spartans, or oni? 🏳️ - do you like rvb? 🥘 - who are you taking out on a date? 🍺 - who would you have a drink with? 🥊 - who are you beating the shit out of? 🎉 - share your favourite character headcanon ⭐ - share your favourite piece of halo lore 🎧 - song you associate a halo character with 📷 - 'aesthetic' photo you associate a halo character with

🖥️, 💉?
🖥️ - Favorite AI? - I think I have to go with Mack. I love that silly little cowboy.
💉 - Flood, covenant, prometheans, or the banished? - Covenant. I personally get bored of the Flood, I think the Prometheans are okay but I don't love them, and I love the Banished... in HW2. I hate them in Infinite.

Halo Reloaded: Atheon
Their private living-quarters is their little oasis... Linda-058—no, Linda Downes, six months along by this point in time, nestled into the pillows with a gentle sigh, her armored plates set aside for the evening. Her legs stretched toward the warmth of the small electric heater humming in the corner.
"John?" Linda's voice, tinged with a child-like whimsy, broke the quiet. "Could you... would you tell me a story tonight? Something happy?"
John smiled, the scar on his face softening in the dim light. He settled beside her, their hands finding each other naturally. "Yeah, sure. You remember Atheon, right? The hero from the tales I told you about when we were kids?"
Linda's eyes lit up, a sparkle of amusement dancing in them. "Yeah! The one who fought with a laser sword and rode a star dragon?"
"That's the one." John chuckled, his voice a soothing rumble in the quiet room. "Okay, let me think... Ah, got it. So, this story takes place on a distant, colorful planet called Neonis. It's so bright and vivid, every sunset there paints the sky in a million shades."
Linda giggled, tucking her feet under her. "Tell me everything!"John began, gesturing with his hands as he wove the tale. "Atheon was not just any hero; he was known as the Guardian of Joy, sworn to defend the smiles of every child in the galaxy. One day, the gloomy shadows—serious creatures made of drear and drab—decided they had enough of Neonis's bright colors."
"Atheon wouldn’t stand for that, would he?" Linda interjected, her voice playful. "Never," John affirmed with a mock-serious nod.
"Atheon strapped on his jet boots and soared into the sky, his laser sword gleaming. But as he confronted the shadows, he realized that fighting them would only spread more darkness." Linda leaned forward, absorbed. "So, what did he do?"
"He did something unexpected. Atheon started to dance." John’s lips twitched into a smile. "Yes, dance. Right there, in the middle of the sky. His moves were so silly and joyous that the shadows, who had never seen anything so ludicrous, couldn’t help but laugh."
Linda clapped her hands delightfully. "He danced away the gloom?"
"Exactly," John said, nodding. "The shadows began to dance too. They twisted and twirled until they turned into bursts of color, adding to the sunset themselves."
Linda’s laughter filled the room, light and carefree. "Atheon the dancing hero, I love it!"
John looked at her, his heart swelling with affection as he watched her joy. "And they say that to this day, the sunsets on Neonis are the brightest, all thanks to a hero who dared to dance instead of fight."
Linda snuggled closer, her head resting against his shoulder. "Thank you, John. That was perfect. Atheon’s my hero."
John whisperes to her, kissing the top of her head gently. "...And you're my hero, Lyn."

I meant to do this earlier, but I didn't. So I'm doing it now.
This is awesome! I may not be an artist, but from my perspective this piece is fantastic. (Of course, if you ever decide to revisit Fred I'm never going to discourage you from doing so :D)
You are awesome. Your art is awesome. You should be proud of it because it rocks. That is all.
Tumblr media
I tried drawing Fred from memory from when I first read the books roughly six years ago. This was mostly because I wanted him in a black t-shirt and simply could not wait for my WiFi to start working so I could look things up but that’s irrelevant information.
I’m thinking I should do a series or something after how this came out
(Also, someone please confirm because I don’t have the book, it’s been bothering me... but wasn’t it canon that John thought that Fred looked Punk As Hell after the augmentation because of the silver streaks it gave him?)

One thing I love doing as the eldest brother of my family is go up to my teenaged younger-brother and spout nonsensical modern slang at him.
Just about everyday, I waltz up to him while he's playing his video games and I just go: "Skibidi Toilet, yo!"
His desire to murder me strengthens everyday. :)

Halo Reloaded: Cat Ears
John-117, the legendary Spartan, master of all things military and perhaps not so masterful at the subtler art of humor, found himself utterly disarmed—not by anything dangerous by any stretch of the imagination, but by the unexpected addition of mechanical cat ears on Linda-058's helmet. Leaning casually against the cool, unforgiving metal of the UNSC frigate's hangar wall, he observed Linda tinkering with the ears. They twitched with a life of their own, probably zeroing in on the soft hum of the ship's engines or the distant clatter of a dropped wrench somewhere across the bay.
"Cute, aren't they?" Linda's voice cut through his thoughts, her tone playful yet edged with a challenge, as if daring him to comment.
Caught in the act of staring, John straightened up, adopting the slight smirk that usually preceded his attempts at banter. "Cute? That’s a term for kittens and babies, not something I’d expect to see on a Spartan’s battle gear."
Linda chuckled, her helmet now cradled in one arm as she turned to face him fully. "Oh come on, John. You need to broaden your horizons. These ears are the latest in auditory enhancement tech. And yes, they are cute—might help lighten up the mood when we're knee-deep in grunt guts."
John picked up the helmet, examining the ears with a mixture of curiosity and bemusement. "Practical and cute. Still, it’s a bit out there for a Spartan. We're supposed to intimidate, not... charm."
"Who says we can't do both?" Linda quipped, leaning back against the workbench with an easy grace. "Imagine the look on an Elite’s face when they get dropped by someone wearing these. Adds a whole new layer to psychological warfare."
John snorted, the sound muffled by the hangar’s vast emptiness. "I’ll just stick to my usual scare-them-silly routine. You can keep the charming to yourself."
Linda’s grin widened. "Afraid you can't pull it off?"
"Terrified," John admitted, playing along with the light-hearted jab. "There's a fine line between charming and ridiculous."
"Well, if anyone could manage it, it’d be you," Linda responded, pushing off from the bench to stand closer to him. Her voice dropped to a conspiratorial whisper. "Just think, John. You, with cat ears—might make the rookies less jumpy around you."
"They’re supposed to be jumpy. Keeps them on their toes," John retorted, though the twinkle in his eye betrayed his amusement.
Linda sighed dramatically. "There you go again, all doom and gloom. Maybe it’s time for a new approach. We could start a trend. Spartans: the fierce warriors who can also do 'adorable.'"
"Adorable isn’t very Spartan," John grumbled, though the smirk lingering on his lips suggested he found the concept more amusing than he let on.
"Neither was fatherhood, but look at us now," Linda pointed out softly, her tone shifting as she touched on the new, uncharted territory they were about to navigate together.
John’s features softened, the playful banter fading into a moment of sincere connection. "That’s different. This is... what we never expected but I wouldn’t change it."
"Exactly," Linda smiled gently, reaching out to take his hand. "We adapt. We overcome. Cute ears and all."John squeezed her hand, his voice firm yet warm with affection. "Together."
"Always," Linda agreed, her smile matching his. "With or without the cat ears."

Oooh these Halo asks look fun! Here we go:
🤍 - favourite halo character?
💗 - favourite halo game?
🍺 - who would you have a drink with?
🎉 - share your favourite character headcanon (I know you have so many amazing ones but do you have a favourite?)
Thanks ~!
🤍 - favorite halo character? - Pfft. C'mon son, you know the answer to this question.
💗 - favorite halo game? - So cards on the table here; I've never owned an Xbox. I have played almost every game (minus the Wars duology and Guardians) and my favorite is 4 because I think the story knocks everything else's out of the park.
🍺 - who would you have a drink with? - Buck, hands down. I would commit some serious crimes in order to hang out with Nathan Fillion.
🎉 - share your favourite character headcanon (I know you have so many amazing ones but do you have a favourite?) - I love the idea that Fred is as devoted to Mendez as John is to Halsey. I don't know why, but the idea of Fred and Mendez having a surprisingly wholesome father/son relationship just makes my heart happy.

I really enjoy the Halo TV show as a goofy sci-fi AU. If you look at it like Halo Halo, it will always be disappointing. If you look at it like a parallel universe episode from an early-aughts sci-fi show, then it's fun!
I’m currently watching Halo s2 ep5 ending and EXCUSE ME BUT WHAT
I knew from spoilers what’s going to happen but still LITERALLY WHAT😭😭
Onyx? Spartan-IIIs? Currahee camp? The same place where Tom and Lucy’s story began and Kurt has died? No I’m mentally not prepared for this.
Tumblr media
Also any thoughts on it? I’m thinking about NOT finishing it, bc I just hate how they did dirty Master Chief and the whole story of Halo. The only one who keeps me going is Kai.
(Yes I do hate it bc I’m so disappointed in the whole show, and don’t tell me you aren’t)

“Am I your lockscreen?”
“You weren’t supposed to see that.”
and/or:
"I’m too sober for this.”
“You don’t even drink.”
“Maybe I should start.”
(from the sentence starter list!)
Thank you for these prompts! I'm excited to go through them :D
1.
Commander Trouble Kelp dropped his head to his desk. It had been one of those days.
When he was younger, those days mostly meant running around after a particularly crafty criminal, or at most getting hit hard enough to be sent to a warlock for recovery. Now, as Commander of LEP Recon, those days were filled with bureaucratic meetings, enough technobabble from an egocentric centaur to make your ears fall off, and yet another IA review.
He missed the days where he only worried about getting squashed by a Troll.
His personal communicator buzzed beside him. He tried to ignore it. Foaly had, for some reason, decided that it would be a good idea to release his personal number to a whole slew of reporters and paparazzi. Trouble was of half a mind to slash the tech-wizard's budget in half in retaliation.
Then his communicator buzzed again, and he made up his mind.
"What's taking so long?" a bright, cheery voice cut into his introspective complaints. He lifted his head to see Commodore Holly Short, her shock of auburn hair and wide smile poked in through his office door.
In spite of it all, Trouble felt a grin cross his face. Then he dropped back down. "I'm going to kill your friend," he grumbled. "I swear. This time I'm really going to do it."
As Holly laughed and sauntered over to his side, his communicator buzzed again. "What did he do this time?" she asked, casually running a hand through his short brown hair. His comm buzzed three more times in the time it took her to ask the question.
"I'm serious," Trouble said, lifting his head to look at her. "I'm going to-" his voice cut off when he realized that she wasn't looking at him anymore. Her fingers continued to trail idly through his hair, and the grin on her face had only widened, but now she was staring intently at his comm.
"Trouble," she said, picking the device up off the desk, "am I... am I your lockscreen?"
The young commander felt his cheeks turn red. "What?" he snapped immediately, his voice defensive. "No."
Holly turned on him a look that could freeze molten rock. "You may be able to lie to a lot of people, Trubs," she said tersely, "but I was never one of them." Then she turned his communicator so that he could see it. "So I'm going to ask you again, and I expect you to be honest this time. Am I your lockscreen?"
Trouble's cheeks heated further as he stared at the offending evidence - a beautiful picture he had snapped of her on one of their days off. She was wearing something casual and laughing, her head tossed back and her auburn hair had fallen back from her forehead. It was his favorite picture of her.
"You weren't supposed to see that," he finally answered.
Holly just laughed, the ice-cold expression on her face thawing and the smile sliding back into place on her lips. She bent down to kiss his forehead. "It's time for you to come home, Commander," she whispered with a twinkle in her eye. "I'll help you get back at Foaly for whatever he did in the morning."
She then grabbed his hand and pulled him out of his chair. For once, Trouble didn't mind being told what to do.

2.
Clone Commander Fox was many things. He was a fighter. He was a leader. According to Stone he was a control freak.
Right now, Commander Fox was bored.
"You look like you're ready to kill something," a light voice hummed in his ear.
Fox turned sharply to the side, still unaccustomed to the playful attitude of his companion. She smiled and a quiet giggle escaped her lips as her golden eyes burned into his own.
"I'm fine," Fox said, clearing his throat uncomfortably. "Just... enjoying the party, Ma'am."
The young senator laughed again, leaning close enough to brush deliberately against his arm. Fox felt his skin rise as she drew her lips close enough to his ear to let her warm breath wash over his skin as she said, "First, I already told you to just call me Riyo tonight." Though her tone was somewhat reproachful, her eyes still sparkled with laughter. "And second, you promised you would be honest."
Fox took a deep breath. His instinct was to brush her off and try some other polite excuse... exactly what he did every time one of the Senators decided to descend to the lowly clones' level and speak to him for a moment. But one more look into Senator Chuchi's - Riyo's - bewitching eyes and his usual MO was out the window.
"I think that I'm too sober to be here," he answered more sincerely than he had meant to.
Riyo let out a real laugh this time, and for just a moment Fox allowed himself the luxury of imagining spending his entire life doing whatever it took to hear that sound over and over again. "You don't even drink, Fox," she said, resting a hand on his bicep to help support her as she continued to chuckle.
He turned his attention to the crowd around in order to hide the blush on his cheeks. Immediately he caught the sight of several Senators cavorting about and drunkenly cackling. "If you're going to keep dragging me to these things, I think I should start," he commented dryly.
Realizing what he had accidentally said, Fox couldn't help but shoot her a guilty sideways glance.
She was smiling up at him. Her azure eyebrows delicately arched, her eyes wide with an almost childlike delight. The faintest ghost of a smile graced her lips as she stared up at him.
"So, you plan to let me drag you to more of these?" she asked, her voice barely louder than a whisper.
Fox's cheeks burned. "I didn't say that."
"Yes you did," Riyo countered, her grin only widening. She glanced around quickly to ensure that no one was looking at them, then leaned up on her toes and planted a quick kiss on his cheek. "And I'm going to make you live up to it," she whispered before dropping back to her feet.
Fox shook his head ruefully. He was in trouble with this one, he just knew it.
And the worst part? He was going to love every minute of it.
