Sometimes I think I read too much into Sports Maxx’s “power and influence”—making him seem more important than he actually is—but then I reread the source material and remember that he’s literally “infamous” and a number-one enemy of the state.
“—the police had been chasing him for a few years,—“
It’ll be fun to write what he was doing as well as how and why he became so well-known to the state of Florida without them being able to properly arrest him. He worked as a car salesman—it wasn’t like he was in hiding.
Jolyne and F.F.’s conversation about Sports Maxx also reinforced my idea about his level of control: not only the surety for his use of multiple bodyguards but also his ability to hire or enforce members of his gang to kill for him just so he doesn’t have to do it himself.
I focus so much on him, hehe.
I loved Vento Aureo for its use of gangsters and underground syndicates so, of course, I’d immediately become attached to Stone Ocean’s one, sole example of it too. ♡
I want to explore more and more of pre-Stone Ocean Rikiel and Sports Maxx.
