online communities are so strange because people slip away so easily. you can be on here for years, folding people you've never met into the fabric of your daily life, and then they disappear, leaving only ghost posts scattered across tumblr behind. or their blog stays dormant, for weeks, months, years, until you're only still following them because you remember that they love sunflowers or they were kind to you when they didn't have to be or the last thing they posted was sad and raw and you still worry about them sometimes.

and sometimes they come back when you least expect it, years later, even, and there's this sudden rush of relief like there you are, there you are, even though you barely knew each other.

there's a strange kind of love to it. i don't know you and i want to hold your hand across miles and time zones and oceans. i can still see the imprint of you in this community you left. you don't think anyone will notice or care when you're gone, but we notice and we care and we wish you well.

i hope you're all okay out there. i hope the sun is shining on your face and you are breathing deeply. i miss you.

i always love actually reading good omens because you get some things that are just so much better in text.

i am so unbelievably excited to see david and catherine back as the doctor and donna. november 25th will be my favourite day of this year

okay guys. so im rereading good omens because i havent read it in a long time, and i'm about a chapter in and already i'm just loving remembering this book. i read it when i was about ten? and haven't read it since and so obviously there were a lot of things i didn't really pay attention to as a kid that i'm noticing now. the BIGGEST thing that i've noticed so far, is that i forgot just how much dorkier and less generally suave and cool crowley is in the book. like david tennant portrays him as this smooth talking ultra cool demon, which don't get me wrong i love, but i also ADORE my lovely dorky little book crowley who says "'hi' and gives a little wave" when told he has a nice pen says 'it can write under water.' i just love him so much.

a criminally underrated scene from season two that im literally obsessed with is crowley just fucking about in the magic shop in 1941

like look at him, he is having the time of his life pretending to be a little human-y magician, not a single care in the world in his funny red hat with his little crystal ball

i can see the situation with crowley's plants in season three going one of two ways. either:

his plants will be thriving, we'll see that his gentle attitude towards them that was beginning to form in s2 has developed more, they'll be larger than ever, practically taking up his entire living space, be that his car or flat, because he will be pouring his entire soul into loving them, since he has no one else to love.

or

his plants will be dead. the plants will be a metaphor for his heartbreak, and we'll see that his ability to care for anything left with aziraphale, and will only return with aziraphale. i dont know which would be worse and i don't know which is more likely, but both are too painful to consider for too long.

there is nothing i love more than considering the fact that aziraphale created the concept of war and violence on earth, because he refused to be an angel. he gave away his flaming sword and just like that the first humans had the first weapon.

in the garden of eden, aziraphale believed himself to be good and righteous and a proper angel, but then he does something decidedly not angelic. he helps a human, purely because those individuals were in danger, and he didn't want them to be hurt. he did not consider the great repercussions of centuries of war and death, because humans don't consider the greater good if an individual life that they care for is at risk. and then suddenly there's a wily serpent next to him, pointing out just how un-angelic he had been, but praising him for it at the same time.

that was the first day that aziraphale learned that if he were to be an angel he would have to make choices that would harm individuals, in order to maintain the moral high ground, and to continue to weave a righteous ineffable plan. because if it had been any other angel stood on that wall, they would not even have considered giving a weapon to a human, the great consequences would be too severe and in their minds the ineffable plan would not approve. but adam and eve would have left the garden and promptly been eaten and the ineffable plan would not have continued as it was destined to. because if it could potentially cause themselves harm, an angel will never do something against the great plan, because we all know what happens if an angel asks too many questions, let alone makes too many mistakes.

a human however, makes situational choices, and tries to do whatever will have the most beneficial outcome. this is aziraphale's first human act, and he will make many more in the years to come. but... only because crawley told him that it was not angelic. crawley laughed and looked delighted with just how "not good" aziraphale had just been, despite reassuring him that an angel cant do the wrong thing. but there's subtext there, and they both know that he's a demon, he lies, and suddenly it becomes clear that if a supposed demon could approve of his choice, but aziraphale, a supposed angel, had also thought he made the right decision, then perhaps everything isn't so black and white after all. because to care for the earth, as a human does, and as crowley and aziraphale do, is to search through the shades of grey until you find just the right one.

and so aziraphale gives away his sword, and thus creates weapons of violence, and eventually millions die to those weapons, but it doesn't matter, because the first humans survived, and aziraphale was not only the creator of war, but also the protector of life.

god david tennant soaking wet and smiling that smile is something else. he's just so pretty <33 crowley was bang on with "get humans wet, vavoom"

i love this show so much, these are all my favourite parts of just the last 17 minutes of season 2 episode 1:

- "no second chances, i'm that sort of a man"

- "it. is. defended."

- "the monsters are coming, the human race"

- "don't you think she looks tired?" and then saunters away looking so damn cool

- DAVID TENNANTS LOVELY LOVELY SMILE

- "oh i'd love you to come" *ADORABLE GRIN*
