I think choosing to coincide Polin’s season with Francesca entering into society is a smart way to push the central theme of wallflowers having their moment in the sun. Francesca is the forgotten sibling much like Penelope - constantly overshadowed and overlooked by the bigger personalities of their siblings. I think there is a kinship and beauty that they are both experiencing the lime light at the same time. It also challenges Penelope’s view of the Bridgertons’ because she always viewed them as “naturally” drawing attention which isn’t the truth when it comes to Francesca and I predict we’ll see Francesca really struggle with the weight of so many eyes on her that we’re never there before in the same way Penelope will.

This is so important because Violet is stand next to Francesca - level with her. Not only is Francesca entering society, but Violet herself is RE-entering herself to the prospects of finding love this season. Pop off blocking👏🏼

I’ve just started the book and this section already feels so important. We know at the end of Ballad that the North and the story curse was watching over as Jacks screamed over Evangeline’s death and brought her back and now it’s working AGAINST the reframing of the story despite its nature for twisting truths. That feels incredibly telling.

I think there is a chance Tristan isn’t the sin eater. They showed his parents seeing that shell when Nancy and Ryan went to drop off the stomach pump. There’s a chance one of them grabbed it and is the sin eater. They didn’t show the sin eater de-transform back into a human at the end of last episode so there is no definite proof it is him.

It’s funny because of the Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) Vault Tracks, I would say that Castles Crumbling and I Can See You are my favorites but the ones that are stuck in my head and I find myself just randomly singing are Foolish One and Timeless. I’ll be making eggs at 6 in the morning and - “On a crowded street in 1944 and you were heading off to fight in the war…”

Nancy experienced both a relationship with Ace that was happy and whole and his death all alone. She carries a grief that no one else can truly understand. It lives entirely in her own mind and while she may have told others about it, it really only holds the appearance of a bad dream. What a lonely state to be in and it’s really emphasized throughout the first episode that she isn’t just experiencing loss but this sense of isolation.

She also experienced the death of her father which I think they hinted at the trauma of that by that small moment of panic and protectiveness she displayed when she found out about the Ryan and Bess situation.

There is a month of lost time bookended by the loss of her father and the loss of Ace that no one can truly empathize with.
