Look at this hunched boy. This single characteristic does so much to characterize him in a single frame, reinforced by the fact that he's slouched in every frame he's in (except maybe when he's fighting). First of all, it gives him an ape-like silhouette that tells so much about his mannerisms and fighting style. He's a brute. He's significantly bigger than almost everyone around him and he uses this fact to beat the shit out of people. But that hunched, closed off posture tells you that he's also super self-conscious about. This lanky, greasy boy was hit so hard by the puberty truck, he is easily a foot taller his classmates and probably most adults. He knows he sticks out everywhere he goes and there is not a goddamn thing he can do about it. He is constantly trying to make himself small, but all it does is exaggerate how long his arms are and make you wonder if the left one is growing at the same pace as the right (probably not). I don't think I've ever seen a character design encapsulate the hell of living in an adolescent body so perfectly. God I love art.
