#6 Avengers 1
Welcome back for my #6! I'm so glad you're still here!
So obviously by the title, my #6 ranked is Avengers 1 and I will be explaining why that is, so keep reading :)
Tumblr media
So this movie was my all-time favourite movie growing up. I vividly remember seeing it in theatres with my whole family as my birthday gift. So, just for that, it gets bonus points. But, not only does it hold great memories for me, that's not the reason I love it so much. It genuinely is such a great movie. Great characters, great plot, great humour, and is literally the baseline for all future Avengers movies.
Tumblr media
So, I know a lot of people either don't remember the plot of this movie or simply have never seen it. So let me break it down, without spoiling... don't worry, I would never ;)
So basically, Nick Fury, director of "Agents of Shield" recruits 6 highly skilled and trained people and activates the "Avengers initiative". He gets, Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow), Bruce Banner (Hulk), Tony Stark (Iron Man), Steve Rogers (Captain America), Clint Barton (Hawk Eye) and Thor to work as a team to retrieve the Tesseract, which harnesses the most power known to man, from Loki.
Tumblr media
So now, that you understand the base of the movie, you can clearly see how it already seems intriguing. From the amazing heroes, to my personal favourite villain, and everything in between, this movie comes together so well.
Tumblr media
I'm gonna start off with why I love the heroes so much, particularly in this movie. So, these 6 people, are the original Avengers. Throughout the movie, they go through their ups and downs as a team. They strongly dislike one and other and can't seem to figure it out. Therefore, failing their mission multiple times in the movie, just because they're careless towards each other. Along the way, they realize that the only way to defeat Loki, is to work together and put together a proper plan to out smart him. I love this because it really shows how powerful teamwork really is. As for me, I've always played team sports, so I've experienced many times in my life that you can't do it all on your own. No matter how mad we could be at each other, it's important to come together to out smart the other team. So the message the Avengers portrayed has a deep meaning to me personally. Especially, because at the end of the movie, they realized that they want to continue to work together because they will be able to change the world.
Tumblr media
To continue, I love Loki as the villain. That is probably one of the most controversial things I could say, so don't come at me. But whatever, he is. He is one of the smartest ones, he knows how to manipulate almost anyone, he's very sneaky and smooth with his getaways, and he somehow will always manage to trick me. Also, because he is Thors brother, they always go a little easier on him, so it gives him more room and opportunity to manipulate and escape, which always keeps things interesting. Lokis character in general is so fun to watch because he is so tricky with his words and gets in my head. He will always make himself the victim and play with the characters emotions and my own.
Tumblr media
Furthermore, what makes this movie so great is the comedy. Like almost every Marvel movie, there are so many great jokes cracked in throughout. This one in particular because it's filled with the funniest and wittiest characters, like Thor, Loki, Tony, and occasionally Steve. My two favourite scenes are the ones when Hulk tosses Loki around like a rag doll and says "puny god" and one scene when he is against the wall with one of the aliens, and they just stare at each other, and he just punches him out of nowhere. My brother and I used to think that they were the most comical thing in the world. I remember almost every time I've seen this movie with my brother, and I can't help but smile every time I imagine them.
Tumblr media
To conclude, I just love this movie so much, it brings back so many childhood memories, like my Avengers themed 7th birthday party inspired by this exact movie. The plot is so intense and very original, it brings together my favourite characters and creates the most powerful team in the world. The only reason I'd put this at #6 and not higher, is strictly on the CGI. This movie was made in 2012, so I understand, but now that I'm older, it's so easy to tell how fake it is, so it ruins it in the slightest way.
But overall, an amazing movie, it'll never get old, not even in 3000 days.... hehe, get it? Okay, I'll stop
Stay tuned for my #5! We're half way!

#7 Dead Pool
I'm back this week with Dead Pool ranked as my #7!
My main reason for this being number 7 is strictly because it's so funny. It was literally made to be a joke. The whole movie is just, let's just say, adult jokes, and its target audience is clearly older teens and young adults. As soon as it came out, it immediately became popular and still is among young adults with good humour.
Tumblr media
Little backstory here, lol.... the very first time I saw this movie was when my best friend and I had our first sleepover. We got our favourite snacks from the store and watched it in my camper. So now, 7 years later, on March 25th, we sleep in my camper and watch Dead Pool. In the past 7 years, we haven't missed our annual movie marathon starting with Deadpool, and I look forward to it every March.
So as silly as it is, this movie has such a sentimental value to me because it immediately brings back so many memories and good times.
Tumblr media
Next up, the main character that plays Dead Pool, is the man, the myth, the legend himself... Ryan Reynolds. I mean, who doesn't love this man. I fully believe he didn't even have to act in this movie, he just was being himself, and it worked so well. His facial expressions even through the mask were done so well, it just adds the little things to the movie that make it so funny. Also, Ryan has the perfect voice for it. I don't even know how to explain it. Anyone who knows Ryan Reynolds knows exactly what I'm talking about, though. You know those people that have that specific voice that make everything 10x funnier? I know you do... well, that's Ryan. Not a single scene in this movie was dull. Every sentence had a joke thrown in there, and I'm not talking jokes you just chuckle at, I'm talking jokes that have me rolling on the floor laughing.
Tumblr media
I love this movie so much because it's one anyone can watch without knowing the Marvel universe. It's a great movie to inspire your friends to start watching Marvel.... and if said friend doesn't like it... you know what to do... JUST JOKES!
But yeah, it's just one of those movies that you can watch at anytime with anyone that will make you laugh and put you in a good mood.
Tumblr media
I'm not going to lie, though, the plot in itself isn't super interesting. It's just a guy that is seeking revenge on a man that did him pretty dirty, hence the mask, if you know what I mean....... he messed up his face. There isn't s super threatening villain, he isn't anyone leading into other movies at least, nor any important easter eggs/ hints for upcoming movies, and Wade, AKA, Deadpool, is an antihero. So if you were planning on watching the movie for the plot, I'm just giving you that warning.
Tumblr media
So if you're looking for a fun watch and a heck of a lot of laughs, this is definitely a movie to see. It made my top ten just based on the humour, so that says a lot.
Let me know in the comments what you rate this movie out of ten if you've seen it!
See you next week with my #6!

#8 Dr. Strange
This week, I'm back with #8! Dr. Strange
So Dr. Steven Strange was a master surgeon in New York. He was a very important and impressive man in the medical field. However, little did he know he was lacking so much in his life. Within the first 30 minutes or so of the movie, he got into a car crash that he was mostly able to recover from, but led him to damage both of his hands beyond repair. He quickly fell into a horrible depression because his career came to a swift halt, and he had nothing else in his life.
Tumblr media
Steven Strange went on looking for help. He heard of Kamar- Taj in the Himalayas. This is where he met the Ancient one. He was told to forget everything he thinks he knows. He had a very closed mind and did not believe a word she was saying. He had no reason to believe in magic or spells etc, he only ever relied on logic. She (Ancient one) was very hesitant about him because of that, but the cloak picked Strange. Which meant it saw far more potential than anyone else. She teaches him that there's so many wonders and complications in the universe and multiverse. There is way more than just the logic of the human body.
Tumblr media
I love this movie because it's so mind winding and thrilling. It can get confusing at times if you don't follow closely because there's just so much information thrown at you at all times, but that's what keeps it so crazy. Also, I love the theories about the universe that it provides, too. I am a sucker for crazy theories, and this movie really fuels that for me. It talks about endless possibilities of the power of the mind, and as someone who adores psychology, this is an amazing movie for that.
Tumblr media
The reason he became so powerful was because he was someone who could “look past the boundary of what is possible to do the impossible”. This quote is one that always gives me chills every time I hear it. I think it's so inspiring and makes me want to do big and powerful things with my future. I know none of this is real, although I wish it was, it still shows me that I can really do anything if I just leave my mind open to everything. It makes me so eager to start university and be able to specialize in my own thing.
Tumblr media
His biggest and most useful power, in my opinion, is his power to manipulate and control time, allowing him to see into the future, travel through time or create time loops. Not only is it fascinating to see, it happens to have the biggest effect on further MCU movies. So I suggest to you all, to watch them all and figure out what that means ;)
Tumblr media
Finally, this movie is just crazy to watch. All the little details that go into the visuals, the script and the plot, is amazing. The whole idea behind his character is brilliant. I love watching him become more mature and intelligent in his new abilities. Maybe he was the best surgeon ever, but this gave him the opportunity to gain what he was lacking, such as his emotional intelligence, control, an open mind, and more. All the characters are super interesting and so complex.
Tumblr media
Although this movie is engaging and entertaining, I rank it at number 8 because it still has a few things missing. It does have its jokes thrown here and there, but just not as much as I would've liked. I like a movie a little less serious and lighter. Also, I do find that this movie is a little rushed and missing some things. But overall, such a fun watch, especially for those of you who love crazy theories and have a big imagination like me.
I can't wait for you guys to see how important he becomes! HINT

#9 Captain America: Winter Soldier
Now that we went over my #10, now I'm here to discuss #9, Captain America Winter Soldier. Everything about this movie is almost perfect. The plot line is extremely entertaining, and I LOVE how it explains unanswered questions from previous movies. Plus, it sets up perfect story lines for the upcoming ones with the little easter eggs found within it.
Tumblr media
To start off, this movie is really the origin for my crush on Sebastian Stan. As soon as I saw this movie, I immediately was fascinated with his acting skills... and his looks. He made it so I was afraid of his character that doesn't even speak, only because whenever you activate the Winter Soldier, everything goes away, and it's just about the mission. No feelings, no considerations, just the mission, and that's the scariest part about him. However, at the same time, he made me feel sympathy for him because of his sad backstory and the pain he felt because he didn't want this. I'm so upset there isn't more detail about him further on the MCU movies. I would love to have the Winter soldier backstories and side stories in a TV show, not only because of his fascinating character, but because Sebastian Stan portrayed it so well and it would be such an interesting topic.
Tumblr media
To continue, I also love the friendship between Bucky (AKA the Winter Soldier) and Sam. The love hate relationship always cracks me up, and they also happen to be the funniest in the movie, so the two bickering is just bound to be hilarious. This aspect of the movie always kind of reminded me of myself and my brother fighting. Not only are we the funniest in the family, but we have that love hate relationship with one and other.
Tumblr media
I remember seeing this movie in theatres with my two older brothers and thinking it was the coolest thing in the world. Although I didn't fully understand why the characters were fighting each other no matter how many times my brother explained it, I just watched it for the fight scenes... and Sebastian Stan.
Tumblr media
The scenes were so action packed and not really repetitive, which is nice to see. I can really see the emotion in the fights between Cap and Bucky. Cap is just so conflicted, because Bucky was his absolute best friend and he was astounded to see him in this time period and, in this condition, but didn't know how to help him. But part of me would get annoyed because Cap would just let Bucky go every time when he could easily put a stop to him. But then it would make me think of my lifelong best friend, Madison, and how I'd probably do the same in this situation.

···
This movie is also when HYDRA (the villains) are introduced. It gives such a good sneak peek on their power and technology that they have and aren't afraid to use. It's terrifying how undercover their whole system is, so I never knew what they'd do next when the characters and I were least expecting it. Likewise, it doesn't go too far into detail about HYDRA which told me right off the bat that they'd be in further movies and a pretty big deal. (good for me, bad for avengers ;)
Tumblr media
To conclude, like any Marvel movie released before 2021, lol, they exuded it perfectly. I love the characters, the intense plot line, and how it's so action packed, it literally never gets boring. Which serves me well, because of my short attention span. I love how it is a movie that leads from other movies and leads into further movies, it's not just something you can watch without seeing other ones first (which gives my mom and I more of an excuse to watch more than one Marvel movie in a day hehe) Although it had some amazing aspects, it is #9 just because I didn't love the ending (I won't spoil it for you guys though, but take it from me)
Don't miss out on #8! Coming out next week!

10th best marvel movie of all time: Thor Ragnarok
To start off this list of the top 10 best Marvel movies, I'm starting off strong with #10. Thor Ragnarok. This movie is one of the most underrated movies in MCU history, and I'll go down to my grave believing this. Obviously, I'm gonna talk about how it has an amazing character development shown, great comedy, and an amazing villain. Not only those things, but there's also thrilling music and the whole story behind it is just genius.
Not only is the movie itself so good, but watching it just brings back so many good memories. For example, the very first time I saw this movie, it was in theatres with my mom. We would always go watch the new Marvel movies together and share popcorn and orange soda. Even now, on rainy days, when we're both free, this is our go-to movie.
To dive a little more into detail into the character development, Thor specifically had a lot of learning in this movie. Like literally in the first 20 minutes we see his hammer get destroyed and that's what he would really rely himself and his powers on beforehand. For example, whenever he faced a difficult challenge or anything of the sorts, all he had to do was reach his hand out for his hammer. We even saw this happen when he first showed up to Sakaar, he reaches his hand out, and when it's not there it's just an “oh sh$t” moment. This movie really forced him to grow and learn the potential of his powers if he just put his mind to use and concentrated. I really liked to see him develop and mature throughout this movie and see his full potential finally.
Tumblr media
The other character development seen is Loki. He FINALLY starts to become self-aware of all his flaws but doesn't really believe he can change, resulting in him flip-flopping, but this time it's actually kind of sad because we know he's actually trying. I especially love watching Loki's character development in this movie because of my love for Psychology. He's always very conflicted, trying to do what's best but doesn't want to at the same time because it's difficult. I think he is so interesting to analyze throughout the movie.
Tumblr media
To continue, like always, it is just hilarious. I love this aspect of the movie so much because I adore anyone with good humour. It is one of the most important characteristics in a person for me. My dad is the funniest person I know, and he's always cracking jokes that I can't help but laugh at, just like the ones in this movie. He also is a big Marvel fan, so we get to enjoy watching Thor and bonding over the humour.
The characters are just so lovable and funny. Like Korg, this big scary rock man. Turns out he's this super sweet and super humorous character that no one was expecting, but adores to see him in further movies. Korg is definitely one of my favourite characters in this movie. Not only him, but the little jokes cracked here and there by Thor himself, the Hulk, Loki, Valkyrie, and even Stan Lee made a funny appearance. The humour is definitely up-to-date and perfectly timed, it just adds the little details that make this movie so good.
Tumblr media
Furthermore, to dig even deeper into the movie, I'm gonna talk about Hela and what she represents. So she is the main villain, and she is a great example that history is literally written by the victors. Although she is seeking revenge, and that's not all the greatest, she does have a reason to be angry. Her history was completely rewritten to favour the "good guys". I'm not going to go into further detail with that because I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't watched it. Hela had insane potential to be a great hero in the MCU universe, but didn't get the right guidance.
Tumblr media
So yes, this movie is not only hilarious, but there is so much underneath the surface that needs to be acknowledged, so it deserves its spot rightfully at #10.
