This is the second pre-release single from COCO’s debut album, released on June 9 2023. Chronologically, it takes place before the events of the CRAZY music video and is about a detective version of COCO trying to solve the case of her disappearance.
˗ˏˋ SCENE ONE ´ˎ˗
the first scene is detective coco at a diner where she is reading the newspaper waiting for her food. on the television in the diner, a reporter mentions how a group of girls have gone missing and the search to find them is still ongoing. the newspaper features a headshot of coco
˗ˏˋ SCENE TWO ´ˎ˗
it is implied that the version of coco in the train station is the one we saw in the crazy music video who was being held captive as she wears the same necklace. here, she is seen standing still or moving slowly as people rush around her, before boarding a train. this is the outfit she was wearing in the newspaper article
˗ˏˋ SCENE THREE ´ˎ˗
these scenes feature coco driving around to different locations looking for clues about the other coco’s disappearance. she asks around if anyone has seen her and is then given a piece of paper from someone with the information of a building and the word “pigs”. the person is gone before she can ask them for more information

in the last scene she is analysing her clues before she sees something that stands out to her. after a moment, she gets a breakthrough and drives to the building where a banquet is being held and she enters. the last scene is the doors opening for her before a black bag is put over her head

Released with no prior announcement on the 15th of May, CRAZY is the first pre-release single ahead of COCO’s debut album STING LIKE A BUTTERFLY. The video takes place in a futuristic dystopian world where COCO is trying to escape a laboratory that is conducting experiments on her.
˗ˏˋ SCENE ONE ´ˎ˗
here, coco is strapped to a medical bed in a skin coloured bodysuit to give the illusion that she is naked. doctors come in with comically large tools to try and do a surgery on her, but she struggles against her restraints. for some scenes, she is off the bed doing the choreography with a group of dancers dressed similarly in nude bodysuits.
˗ˏˋ SCENE TWO ´ˎ˗
for these scenes, she is sneaking around the building and releasing other captives from their prisons. she acts as a sort of rebellion leader as they run around rescuing others trying to escape. she is seen setting off multiple alarms and guards chase them through the halls and stairs. group dance scenes take place here as well.
˗ˏˋ SCENE THREE ´ˎ˗
on the security cameras, coco takes up each screen as she lipsyncs to the song aggressively. then it becomes clear that she is trapped wherever she is when she starts banging on the camera. people in lab coats monitor her while noting things down on clipboards
˗ˏˋ SCENE FOUR ´ˎ˗
the final scene reveals that the experiments the scientists are conducting are to clone coco. there a bunch of girls dressed exactly like her in tanks filled with water. this is in line with the what the song talks about as she is that girl and better than those around her and that makes them mad, so much so that are trying to copy her very being.

In 2018, COCO’s debut album was postponed due her not being able to complete it and now, after 5 years, it is finally ready. The name of the album coming from Muhammed Ali’s famous quote “Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee” is about COCO overcoming the hardships of her earlier years and getting to a point where she can be herself without worrying about others. It chronicles her feelings from 2016 to 2022, when the last song was written. Set to release on June 23 2023, the album was announced on May 19.

☆ ! . . . VOICEMAILS is the first solo release from BTS member and main vocal, COCO. Announced on the 30th of August 2019, the single album was released 20th September 2019, following the release of Map of the Soul: Persona earlier in April. Featuring only three songs, this album is not COCO’s official debut as a soloist, and is more a ‘pre-solo debut’ project. WEEKEND served as the title track and she promoted this song for a week and a half. The song managed to receive 9 music show wins during her promotion period and 3 more after that.
TRACKLIST
☆ ! . . . 01. WEEKEND ❪ TITLE ❫ ── when requesting to release a single as a soloist, coco knew already that she wanted the song to be fun and cute and that is exactly what it was. produced by hongjoong of ateez, weekend is about having no worries or problems once the weekend rolls around. this marks the first partnership between coco and hongjoong.
☆ ! . . . 02. REWIND ── rewind is a retro style, synth pop track about wishing to go back to a time in a relationship when things were good. this was the easiest song to write for coco but it took the longest to complete.
☆ ! . . . 03. CLOSER ── written again with hongjoong, this is a song about wanting to get to know the real ‘you’ and get closer to each other this person. it continues the retro vibe of the other two songs.
PERFORMANCE STYLING
HIGHLIGHTS
☆ ! . . . in the music video behind, hongjoong and san came to visit her on set and she taught them the point choreography. fans loved the interaction, especially since ateez was travelling to the us for tours at the time so many found it sweet how they found time to visit her
☆ ! . . . during some stops of the speak yourself tour, the other members would sing the chorus of weekend whenever she started speaking to tease her
☆ ! . . . winning best female artist at mama and getting nominated for song of the year. when boy with luv won, maknae line made a show of teasing coco for losing to them, even though she won with them anyway
☆ ! . . . in her acceptance speech for female artist, she thanked hongjoong and atiny along with armys. she nearly left the stage without shouting bangtan and only remembered when they started yelling from the audience
☆ ! . . . during a few encore stages, her and her dancers would put on rollerskates and try to do the choreography like that with them on. she fell a couple of times but they’ve gone down in kpop history as some of the most fun stages
☆ ! . . . yoongi and jin accidentally posting a video of the three of them singing and trying to do the choreography of the song for her birthday before the song came out. it was only ten seconds long but coco still loves to give them shit for spoiling it

the video starts with coco in a room surrounded by phones that are all ringing with the opening of the song, until she picks one up and it cuts. she lipsyncs the lyrocs to the song here into the phone or without it. she would do the choreography with the dancers here, too.
˗ˏˋ SCENE TWO ´ˎ˗
in the museum scenes, she is either walking down the hallways of paintings or doing the choreography alone. she sings to some of the paintings and is seen sitting against the wall in some shots, lipsyncing the lyrics to the camera.
˗ˏˋ SCENE THREE ´ˎ˗
the final set piece for the video. the bridge and final chorus take place here mainly. at first coco sits at a table by herself singing along to the song when the rink suddenly gets full of people and the dancers all come together with her to do the choreography on skates. it doubles as a party scene where everyone just skates around to to song having fun.
