Day 19-Sling
Hello to anyone reading this now (in 2021) I am currently trying to complete this I’ll be updating at least once a day unless there’s an exam or something until I finish with the prompt list or whenever the story is over with the whole reveal cute fluffy ending and all that. so if you’re interested let me know if you want to get tagged

Chapter 19-Sling
Marinette smiled, "Thanks, Adrien, that's really sweet of you,"
"See, girl! Now you don't have an excuse anymore!" Alya laughed.
Marinette rolled her eyes but didn't say anything. The kids were a danger to society. But with a person per kid, it couldn't be too bad.
-------- Time skip (the weekend) ---------
Correction, it definitely could. Not only could it, but it was a complete disaster. It was like trying to round up animals on the loose from the zoo. Only instead of being armed with sharp teeth or claws, they were armed with markers, scissors, and way too much junk food. Marinette wanted to blame Adrien. She really did. After all, he brought all the junk, but she just couldn't. He obviously had good intentions thinking he could get the devils to cooperate by bribing them, but it was a rookie mistake. Sugar and children was not a good combination especially if it's past their bedtime. And now Marinette was barricading the rest of the stash in the kitchen, using only a wooden spoon to defend herself from Ella. And Adrien held Etta Lion King style to stop her from scribbling on the walls. There wasn't any time to check Adrien's coat pocket in all the chaos. It taunted her from next to the door when Adrien stood.
"Wanna switch?" Marinette half-joked, still watching her demon child closely.
Ella used that opportunity to pounce at Marinette. Marinette moved out of the way, but the cunning child tried to dash behind her to the snacks. Marinette blocked continuing the stalemate.
Adrien chuckled nervously, "I think you got it covered. Besides, I think I'd give in after she gave me some puppy eyes,"
"True at this point, I think I'm immune," She remembered all the times she gave in to Mamon with a sigh.
Etta took Adrien's brief distraction to kick the air hard enough to surprise him. He dropped Etta in response. She landed with her arms in the air like she just performed a trick and giggled. She stuck her tongue out at him before grabbing the markers again.
"I'm reconsidering switching," Adrien sighed before running after her.
Marinette crashed on the sofa with a huff. She groaned as she inched away to give room to Adrien, who came with drinks. He sat down at the edge, trying to give her space while silently handing her a soda. Marinette grumbled a bit, but she sat up and took the drink from Adrien. It took bribing, two movies, an impromptu fashion show, and some smooth teamwork to tire the girls out. Too smooth. She looked at him out the corner of her eye. They moved seamlessly after getting used to the situation. It was like how she a Chat would coordinate once they figure out an Akuma. Accessing the problem then wordlessly dancing in tandem. She grabbed the remote, he distracted the girls, she helped pick outfits, he hid the snacks, switching duties and switching girls. It felt like second nature. She was only ever that much in sync with one person.
"We're back!" Alya pulled Marinette out of her thoughts, barging through the door.
"Shush, the girls are asleep!" Adrien whisper-yelled.
"Thank god you're back!" Marinette ran up, hugging Alya like she was her savior.
Alya rubbed her back while giggling at her best friend's dramatics.
Nino chuckled, "Come on now, Marinette, you babysat them before. I'm sure it wasn't that bad,"
"Two-words Nino, Sugar rush,"
The couple cringed before laughing. After a brief retelling of the terror of babysitting essentially mini criminals on steroids, Adrien and Nino said they wanted to talk real quick while Alya checked on the girls.
Sensing the perfect opportunity, Marinette leaped at the chance, "I'll wait for you outside,"
"It's cold outside. Stay inside a little longer. It'll only be a minute," Adrien worried.
"Don't worry, I'll be right outside the door. I'll grab your coat," Marinette grabbed his coat, feeling anxious to get the answer she's been wondering all week about.
"Thanks, Marinette. It'll be quick,"
"No need to rush," She stressed, wanting to have a proper look this time.
With an okay from Adrien, she left and made sure to close the door behind her. She quickly checked the pockets and pulled it out.

Without a doubt, this was her lucky charm. She held it lightly like the evidence would shatter if she grasped it too tight. She flipped it over and over again as if the pattern, color, or symbol would change the next time she did it.
Adrien Agreste was Chat Noir.
She stepped back, leaning on the stair railing for stability. Adrien was Chat. Chat was Adrien. Her boyfriend had been sitting behind her in class this whole time. Her mind was spinning. What should she do? They just became friends. She can't just tell him now. What if he runs away? Well, actually, her kitty was quite the persistent type, so she didn't think he'd run. But it was Adrien! Oh god, she had no idea what to do. Sure they made up, but she called her boyfriend a pretentious spoiled rich kid, so many times to his face! And how was she supposed to tell him that she found out first? She had been the one that refused to reveal their identities for their own safety. She even encouraged both him and herself that they should catch Hawkmoth fast so they could be together. She would be such a big hypocrite! Especially since she said that "even if we suspect someone from real life, we can't investigate," and what did she do? She took his jacket and looked through his pockets like a stalker! Speaking of, should she take a picture, so she doesn't think she made all this up tomorrow, or would that be too much? She pulled at her ponytails. What was she thinking? All of this was too much already! Her mind was running in circles. She pulled out her phone and took the picture but then hovered her finger over the delete button. She invaded his privacy on accident when it fell, but this was on purpose, and she was going to have proof of it? But then again, what he doesn't know won't hurt him?
"Sorry I took so-"
"Ahhhh!" Marinette screamed.
She dropped everything and backing away from the sudden voice. Her foot hit the air as she missed the step. She reached for the railing to give her stability, but it was just beyond her grasp. She saw Adrien's wide eyes, and he ran to grab her. Guess his cat-like reflexes happened in real life too, but he's still too far, she thought as she twisted her body to catch herself on her hands and stop herself from rolling down. She felt a sharp pain in her right shoulder as she landed wrong and sucked in a breath.
"Marinette, are you okay!?" Adrien yelled, crouching down and helping her sit up.
"Mostly," she winced, "hurt my shoulder a bit, but other than that, I'm fine,"
She felt like she should thank Tiki or Master Fu or maybe even the miraculous itself. Thanks to her time as Ladybug, she was able to pull off a more like that despite being extraordinarily clumsy. She looked up noticing, that she thankfully hadn't fallen too many. Maybe she wouldn't need a sling anything. Spoilers, she was wrong.

Day 18-Misfit

Chapter 18-Misfit
It had been a couple of days since he had apologized to Marinette, and things were going well. She hung around him a lot more now, but it always seemed like she had something to say, and he caught her looking at him suspiciously a lot. He'd be lying if he said he wasn't upset about this, but he guessed it made sense. Months of arguing with each other can't change that quickly. There were times where even he had to stop himself from being sarcastic. But that wasn't nearly as hard as stopping himself from flirting with her and initiating the causal touches he was so used to.
Another positive was how Alya and Nino would hang out with them as a group. He had never been close to Alya and didn't know much about her. Nino didn't talk about his girlfriend much because the conversation always ended up at Marinette. The same couldn't be true for Marinette, who had known Nino when they were kids, so she was more comfortable when they all were together. Right now, they were eating at a table at the park, but Adrien felt like he was tables away from them. Their conversations flowed very naturally. They interrupted and finished each other's stories, giggling at what were obviously inside jokes. Nino tried to clue him in, but he still felt awkward and out of place.
"Ah, the little devils are Alya's twin little sisters. They can be a real pain," Nino explained.
"Oh, ok, thanks," he smiled politely.
Yeah, he still felt like a misfit. What was with that response? It's like an old man rather than a kid their age.
"Oh, yeah, they're the worst! Marinette once called me in the middle of our date night and said," mimicking a high panicked voice, "Alya, they're monsters! I can't babysit them alone! I need the help of the army. One of them almost got electrocuted, and the other found the knives. I need backup!" Alya giggled, elbowing Marinette.
"First of all, I don't sound like that. Second of all, I'm not wrong. I was scared you weren't going to have sisters when you came back. I'm never babysitting them alone again," Marinette huffed.
"I can help you next time Marinette," Adrien offered.
It would be the perfect opportunity to see her more outside of school if his father allowed it. That was a big if. Maybe if he said it was a group project. And he didn't have any fencing or piano lessons it could work. It would also let him see how she was with kids. Sure, he and Ladybug had talked about it, and he saw how she was with kids after they were akumatised, but he wanted to see it out of the suit.
Somehow I wrote yesterday but forgot to post it? I blame my sister for coming into the room and talking about something she's writing for hours. Anyway sorry had a long day so just chapter 18 today which I know is a bit fillerish but I wanted to establish that time has passed and Adrien is part of the squad now! He may feel out of place but everyone enjoys having him around he just needs to realize that

Chapter 17-Ornament
Marinette laughed. Adrien was more fun than she had given him credit for. They had moved into the living room to hang out and eat some sandwiches her dad made while Adrien's clothes were washed. If it wasn't for the lunch rush, she imagined her dad and him would've told each other jokes until she and her mother groaned. It was another way he kinda sembled her kitty. Although Chat was more smooth in his punchlines and was unapologetically okay with being terrible. Adrien had a quick wit as well but looked nervous. Get that's another thing she could thank homeschooling for, she guessed. It wasn't long until the clothes were out, and Adrien went up to change. Marinette decided to wait for him downstairs so they could walk back to school together.
"So?" Maman asked her.
"What?"
"Nothing, I just wanted to know if you two are getting along," she said vaguely and focused on kneading some dough.
"Yeah? He's kinda funny, I guess," Marinette shrugged.
"Well, I'd think so, you haven't stopped smiling since you came down,"
Marinette was startled. She hadn't known she was smiling at all. She supposed it was because she had been comparing Adrien and Chat, and she could help but smile thinking of her dorky boyfriend. She smiled more thinking, of what their interactions would be like. Well, once Chat got over the whole hating Adrien thing. She might've, only in passing, and only just barely...aggressively ranted about how Adrien was the worst and that she couldn't stand being in the same room as someone so horrible... While it was endearing that Chat had come to her defense and wanted to punch Adrien at least once, she groaned, thinking about how to explain. Especially considering how the first things he wanted to do once they defeated Hawkmoth were: 1) Declare their relationship to the world. 2) Defend her honor from the jerks in school (namely Chole and Adrien) And 3) meet her parents and go on a normal date. This plan was so official that he wrote it out for her and gave her the paper. Not only that it, was super corny, too, because he signed it 'your kitten' as if it was a contract. She covered her mouth wanted to stop the laugh that was coming. She instead went to grab Adrien's coat, thinking he'd be done changing soon. Grabbing it from the coat rack, she heard something small fall onto the floor, so she reached to pick up was seemed to be a beaded ornament.
She paused, seeing all too familiar red thread. This...was this her lucky charm she gave to Chat? She heard footsteps coming down the stairs and quickly shoved the bracelet back into Adrien's coat. She stood back up and tried to act natural.
"Thanks, Marinette," Adrien said, taking his coat and putting it on.
"Yeah...no problem," Marinette mumbled, still wanting to hold on to his coat.
"Should we head back now?"
"Yeah, sure. Maman, Papa, we're heading back now!"
"Okay! Come back home early. We got a big delivery tomorrow," Papa yelled back to her.
"Okay!" Marinette forced a smile at Adrien and let him lead the way back to school.
The way back was quiet. Adrien tried some small talk, but Marinette responded dryly, still thinking about the 'ornament' she found. It was so similar to the lucky charm she gave to her boyfriend for good luck months ago. He had a competition he wanted to win. He didn't tell her what it was about, but he did say that he really wanted to beat the girl he always argued with in class. And Marinette knowing how much she made fun of Chat, gave it to him for good luck. He told her that he still carried it around everywhere. He joked that if he didn't have her around to cancel out his bad luck, her lucky charm was the next best thing. So why did Adrien have it? No. She shook her head and forward at Adrien, who was enjoying the scenery. He didn't seem like the type to take anything, and he definitely had enough money to buy whatever he wanted. She couldn't be sure it was the same one. She didn't get a good look at it. She'd have to find a way to get his coat again. But how?
Only one for today because it's late but things are getting tense! Mari is getting suspicious when will the reveal happen?!?!?

Day 16-Wild
Adrien's brain go zoom

Chapter 16- Wild
"Adrien, I have no idea what you're talking about," Marinette looked at him weirdly.
Oh, he messed up. He had felt so happy and comfortable when Marinette fixed his hair that he purred, but she didn't even notice! And now she thinks he's a complete weirdo with daddy issues! (Which he was, but Marinette hadn't even gotten to know Adrien yet!) His mind was running wild with a thousand different ways he could explain it, and he landed on his dad? And now he had to think up a reason for the word vomit he made up and somehow not come across as super creepy. Should he just tell her that he made a weird noise? No, then she might rethink and notice that he did purr. Should he just come out with it? Honesty is the best policy, and she hates liars but then what? 'Oh, don't worry, I just purred, no weird reason. Maybe I'm a furry or just a freak, who knows?! Aren't you glad you decided to give me a chance?' Should he just fess up to the whole thing? 'Hey, actually, I'm your crime-fighting, cat-themed boyfriend who found out your secret identity. I didn't tell you because we hated each other for weeks, and I'm trying to make you like me before I tell you. But you pet my head so gently, and I love you, so I purred, but you didn't notice. And now I said it's because of my dad and made things awkward, please don't yell at me?'
He must've been quiet too long because Marinette waved a hand over his face, "You there? Look, I don't get what you mean, but I think you should have a talk with your dad. We might not be close, but you got Nino, and he can back you up. He also gives awesome hugs if you need them."
The gears spinning, wildly stopped and Adrien smiled softly, "Yeah, thanks. He's a good friend," he fidgeted with his hands, "you're a good friend too,"
He felt awkward saying it. He wasn't sure if it was too early to say that, not to mention how part of him pained to say friend. He pushed himself to remember that in her point of view, he was a jerk just as mean as Chole this morning, so he shouldn't expect anything.
"Thanks," Marinette giggled, "you know, you're a lot less cool than I thought,"
Adrien felt his heart drop, "...really?"
"Yeah, you seemed...I don't know...fake? Sorry that sounds mean. I mean, I didn't see a personality before, but now I can see you're the type of guy that forgets he has flour on his hand and gets it in his hair. And the type that gets so nervous that his words don't sound like words anymore," she chuckled, "I was nervous, but I think I can get along with you just fine,"
Look at that! I'm still sticking to my promise of write 2 a day! Also aren't misunderstanding so awkward? Adrien is me in like half of my social situation nowadays.

Day 15-Legend

Chapter 15-Legend
She had to admit that he looked pretty good in the sweater. His hair wasn't swept flawlessly from his face like usual. The slight wave in his hair seemed random and chaotic rather than intentionally hair sprayed into place. He was natural. It was nice considering how much of a robot she thought he was before. Before, he was like a manufactured cut-out of a boy. As if someone googled was the perfect teen boy should be, and it printed out Adrien Agrest. Maybe that was partially her fault. She never cared enough to pay attention to him unless she was thinking of a comeback. But maybe, it wasn't. He wasn't a huge presence in the class. He really only interacted with Nino and Chole. He left class early for fencing or piano or whatever other events his father made him go to, and he was just a nice guy. And Marinette didn't mean that as a compliment. It was a polite niceness that didn't really let any mistakes through. It was basic. But the Adrien she had seen today was different. He was awkward and dorky and expressive and weird, and more than all of that, he was real. It made all the snide comments and back-handed compliments she made seem unfair because chances are, Adrien just didn't know any better. She glanced back at his hair that still had a bit of flour in it and laughed, remembering the dumbfounded look he had when he spilled the flour. He was just a naive little rich kid still learning about the world.
Adrien walked over, standing next to her on the balcony, "What are you laughing at?"
"You still got some flour in your hair,"
He ran his hands through his bangs, trying to shake off the remaining flour, "Did I get it?"
She giggled, "Nope, here let me,"
She reached up gently, ruffling his hair to get the rest out. Part of her wanted to laugh, knowing that she had done that to Chat today too. She noticed that their hair was also similar, both in texture and color. But her kitty's mane was very untamable, and Adrien was easily smoothed back into place. Finished adjusting, she stepped back to see if it looked alright. Adrien was stiff, red in the face, and looking intensely at a flower pot next to her.
"Uhhh...sorry, didn't mean to make you uncomfortable,"
"No, it's not that- I just-it unexpected-my-I'm not used to it but- umm- legend? No, umm myth? Theory? that because my dad I..."
"What are you-"
"Touch starved!"
Marinette stared at Adrien blankly. She barely understood what he was trying to say. She didn't know why he acted so strongly to her fixing his hair. She didn't want him to be more nervous than he already was, so she hesitantly nodded her head.
"No- it's just that when I'm comfortable- it's just something that happens, and I don't want you to think that I'm being weird or something-"
"Adrien, I have no idea want you're talking about,"
The prompts sometimes make sense and other times I just throw the word in there and call it a day so I can continue the story lol.

Day 14- Overgrown

Chapter 14- Overgrown
Adrien huffed, trying to fix his hair, but he knew it was no use. The miraculous gave his hair more volume than he knew what to deal with. Adrien looked up, seeing his lady had already abandoned him. He felt himself pout. He knew that it was smart of her to do that. There have been countless times where they nearly saw each other and even more times where they had to sit back to back recharging because they didn't want to leave yet. It didn't help that they had class soon, and Marinette's parents were sure to check on her and- OH MY GOD! He told Mrs. Dupain-Cheng that he'd hide in the pantry so she wouldn't have to leave the bakery. She was going to come from their house to the pantry and find him missing!
He rushed himself to the bakery and detransformed right as he entered the bakery. He saw Marinette and Mrs. Dupain-Cheng come down together to check on him and casually leaned against the counter. He channeled every cool character he'd ever seen on TV and every photoshoot he'd ever done in his pose.
Mrs. Dupain-Cheng was the first the notice him. "Adrien? What are you doing, and why are you out of the pantry already?"
"Well- umm, the noise outside calmed down, so I - ahhh!" His elbow hit the corner of a mixing bowl at the edge of the counter.
The bowl flipped over, and using his cat-like reflexes...he missed it. Not only did he miss it. He fumbled with it on the way down and got it all over his face and shirt. Then almost in slow-mo, it fell upsidedown, spilling everywhere. He stood frozen for a few seconds with his arms outstretched, looking at Marinette.
She bit her lips and looked at him, the floor, then back to him before bursting out in laughter. "Sorry, hahahahaha- I can't! Oh my god, Agreste, you looked like a kicked puppy!"
Cat he wanted to correct.
"Why are you just standing there? The bowl's already-ahahahaha- just drop your hands already, you dork!" She grabbed her stomach and caught her breath.
Adrien smiled and awkwardly rubbed the back of his head, forgetting that he still had flour coating his hands and arms. His eyes widened as he tried to shake the flour out of his hair, earning him another stream of laughter from Marinette and even a few chuckles from her mother. Adrien felt that it was worth it, though. He had made her laugh as Adrien. He saw her blue eyes squint from how hard she laughed and how she desperately tried to regain her composer but ended up laughing more when she locked eyes with him again. Her laugh was infectious, and soon enough, he was laughing just as much.
Marinette finally caught her breath, "Maman, I'll take Adrien in my room and see if I have anything that'll fit him,"
"Okay, try to be quick. You two still have class. I'll clean up down here,"
Adrien felt his heart pound. He was going to her room! He always wanted to go, and now he had an excuse to look around! She led him up the stairs that brought them into her living room, and Adrien tried not to fanboy about all the pictures he saw of her with her family. He felt like a fan given VIP access backstage.
When he finally entered her room, it was both exactly and not at all what he expected it to be. It was so warm and cozy, with fun patterns and designs everywhere. He always imagined his lady quite organized, but Marinette as a mess. And somehow, both were true. Half-finished projects, labeled boxes, walls filled with inspiration, everything had its place. It was so distinctly her. He wanted to wander around but felt that it'd be rude, so he just looked around.
"Here. Not Agreste family quality, but it'll work while he wash your clothes." She handed him a light green sweater with a black paw-print on the front and some black sweatpants.
Adrien felt giddy. It was a Chat Noir themed sweater! It was him! And his lady made it! Marinette quirked an eyebrow at his reaction but didn't say anything and led him to her bathroom. After making sure that she closed the door, he excitedly jumped around. This couldn't be a more perfect day. He made up with Marinette, heard her defend Adrien (although she didn't know it was him), saw her room, and now he was going to wear a sweater she made based on his superhero persona (which you know was dating her superhero persona!). He felt so lucky, which as a black cat, he rarely felt.
He hurriedly put on the sweater and sweatpants, wanting to see how it looked. It felt soft and warm and matched his eyes perfectly. His heart warmed, and he wrapped his arms around himself, feeling so loved. He came out of the restroom after calming himself down a bit, but he didn't see Marinette anywhere.
"Up here," Marinette's head popped out of the door above her bed.
He climbed up and saw her standing near the railing on her balcony with all her plants surrounding her. Overgrown vines of her hanging plants and blooming flowers around her looked like a scene from a movie.
"Thought they were the same size," she muttered to herself "not too bad if I do say so myself,"
"I love it," he said a little too truthfully.
"Good to know, but you gotta take it off before you leave. It's a present for my boyfriend,"
"Oh...OH!" the realization came late that he was the boyfriend she was talking about.
Marinette tilted her head, "Umm, yeah. Anyway, now that we're cool, I better not hear you making fun of him anymore, or I'll go right back to hating you,"
Adrien giggled, "okay,"
This one actually got long! So much fluff and just Adrien being very cute. I also want to say oh my god thank you?! I thought I was mostly writing this for me and 2 other people because it's been so long but within 2 hours of posting chapter 11 and 12 I had a few kudos and comments so it makes me feel like y'all were just waiting for me to get off my lazy ass and write again.

Day 13-Ash

Chapter 13-Ash
The akumatized object fell into ashes at Mr. Dupain-Cheng's feet. He seemed short of breath and was kneeling on his calves, a little disoriented.
"What happened?" he questioned as Ladybug offered to help him up.
"Oh, same old, same old," Chat joked.
Marinette's dad stood and looked at the ruined penthouse before settling on Chole, who hid behind a beach chair. She came out of hiding quickly with a huff.
"Chole...," Mr. Dupain-Cheng muttered, "you should be embarrassed young lady. Not only did you hurt my daughter, but you also hurt your friend in the process and caused unnecessary fights between them,"
"No way! Adrien is too good to be hanging around Marinette Dupain-Cheng." She said her name with disgust, "It would ruin him! Adrien was happy with just me. He doesn't need any more loser friends to bring him down; he already has Nino."
"Who are you to decide that for him?" Marinette held Chat's hand, stopping him from what he was about to say.
She was done with Chole's tantrums. She already knew that Chat dealt with a possessive friend making it hard to hang out with others, and her blood boiled at the thought that a similar person was around him. She didn't want Chat to deal with Chole if he already had one of his own in his own life. It'd be too personal, granted it was for her too because she was actually involved, but he didn't know that.
She squeezed Chat's hand to reassure him before continuing, "People are not yours to control, Chole. Friends are not sims characters, only acting as you want them to and with the people you approve of. Chole was left speechless, satisfying Marinette immensely. She grabbed her forgotten lucky charm and threw it in the air. Swarms of ladybugs circled around them, repairing the damaged furniture. She swung her yo-yo to a nearby rooftop before grabbing Chat tighter and pulling him away before Chole regained her ability to talk.
"Guess you're on snack duties next patrol," Ladybug let go of Chat's waist and set him down.
"Huh? Oh yeah," Chat seemed dazed.
"Yeah, I bet that Chole would cause the next akuma again, but you said that was too obvious. Can't believe you bet on the pigeon guy."
"He's already a repeat offender! He was akumatized twice for the same reason too! Guy gets real sensitive about his pigeons," he defended himself.
Marinette giggled, "I know, minou. I was there. Anyway, we got to get going. I only have two spots left,"
"But I miss you," Chat whined.
She got on her tiptoes and gave him a quick kiss, "Me too. I'll see you later 'kay,"
Chat gave a dorky lopsided smile that Marinette swore he did on purpose to make her hate leaving him even more. It was the kind of smile of a boy in love, just so blissfully happy with her. She ruffled his bangs to cover his eyes, watching the expression change as he tried to fix his hair but somehow ended up messier. God, did she love this idiot.
This one made me smile while writing it. I hope it makes y'all smile too. Also, the next one will be posted in a while but I got to finish it because it got long so give me an hour? idk it'll be up soon but I promised to update today so as much as I'd like to give 2 today it's already 11 where I am

Chapter 12-Dragon
Chat looked at the giggling people in the streets. The civilians not hit by the akuma were busy running from their overeager friends, but at least there wasn't any real danger. If he was honest, a part of him was a little jealous. If he and Marinette got hit, then he would have an excuse to act the way he had wanted to since he found out her identity. He would have the chance to ask to see her room, ask about what got her into fashion, what kind of music she liked, and...how she felt about him. But she'd lie because she was in a trance, and Adrien wanted sincerity. He was impatient but not so much that he wouldn't work to get close to her. Besides, they cleared up some misunderstandings, and she said she was sorry too, so Adrien was optimistic.
The ladybug he knew was proud and intelligent, like a dragon with a strong sense of responsibility and values. She fought hard for those she cared about and harshly attacked those who lie and undermine what's right. He'd seen that in Marinette too and wanted to be important to her too. He giggled at the thought of little Marinette Dupain-Cheng yelling at her idol and his father when he didn't let him hang out with his friends. She had offered to beat some sense into him many times as Ladybug, and he had a feeling the only reason she didn't was that she didn't know who he was. Somehow he had no doubts that his headstrong lady would talk his father's ears off and forget how much she idolized him for Adrien's honor.
"You better not get me one of those," Ladybug joked, referencing the oversized sweaters used to trap two civilians together with the big red words "this is our get along shirt" across the front.
"What? Why not?"
"It's cruel and unusual punishment,"
Chat pouted, "Is it such a punishment to be near me, my lady? I was thinking of getting us one for Christmas and showing everyone how much we get along,"
"They can see how much we get along already minou. I've seen at least five blogs with ladynoir in the title," Ladybug chuckled.
"Five?! I'm only following four of them! What's the name of the last one?" Chat responded urgently.
"HELP! get away from me you ugly akuma!" A shriek all too familiar was heard from the top of the hotel.
"Guess you'll have to tell me later, my lady,"
Can you tell that I didn't want to make an akumatized villain yet? I'm not a creative person tbh but y'all are here for the drama (which is still bad) so please deal with it for now

Chapter 11-Snow
Ladybug stared at Chat silently. There was something off with her kitty. The civilians probably wouldn't notice anything but, she could tell he was distracted. Marinette had always been a nosy person. Some might call her observant others would call her a busybody but, she couldn't help it. She cared about those around her, which is why she made such a good ladybug. Could she be oblivious too? Sure. But she tried her best to notice the little movements and expressions people made. So when Chat stared at her in a daze (and not the usual lovesick one, she might add), she knew something was up. With her halfhearted threat to do the patrol on his own, he snapped back into focus.
Ladybug smiled as much as her boyfriend was a goofball; he was also dependable. She and Chat went to Chole's immediately, knowing that's where the akuma was headed. Snow sprinkled down on her as she swung from building to building.
"The first snow of winter. How romantic that I get to see it with my lady," Chat mused, vaulting closer to her.
"It'd be much more romantic in other circumstances," she chastised.
"Then we better get rid of the akuma quickly so I can take you to the Eiffel tower for a better view,"
Marinette giggled but didn't disagree, the thought of cuddling on the Eiffel tower watching the snow fall was pretty romantic, but she had to save her dad first.
She looked back to the streets. Civilians seemed almost to be glued to each other. It seemed those people who already looked like they got along have been put in a trance holding each other's hands and pulling unwilling participants into friendship circles. She questioned her father's idea of friendship of the youth when she saw some of them wearing the tacky "get along" oversized sweaters. She bet any minute now they would reenact the holding hands and singing around the Christmas tree scene from the grinch. It all felt very hippy and cheesy if you asked her, but Chat looked off in awe.
She knew he was pretty sheltered at home; they didn't want to reveal too many details, but she understood the gist of it. He was homeschooled until recently and lived with an overprotective father who rarely listened to him. It wasn't until this year where he was able to attend school and make friends. But still, he couldn't go out much and had extracurriculars that his dad made him take. She wondered if he thought what he saw outside was normal? Obviously not the trance part, but if he thought the flower crowns and matching clothes were. Sure she supposed some people expressed friendship that way, but she'd like to save him the awkward situation of giving a friendship bracelet to someone he barely knew. She decided that given the opportunity, she'd get closer to him as Marinette instead of Ladybug, his girlfriend.
This chapter was split to fit in with the prompt list so the next chapter that I'll be posting right after this one will be short too ^-^' I do have an idea of the sequence of events that'll be happening but these few chapters are kinda sparse since the important stuff happens later. Since they're gonna be real short I'll upload 2 a day.

Chapter 10: Pattern
"Hey, kitty," Ladybug smiled and pulled him in for a chase kiss. "what are we looking at?" she turned her sharp determined eyes to the wreckage.
Chat's heart squeezed, "Uhhh...Thomas Dupain-Cheng got akumatized, and he's uhh...creating friendships everywhere,"
"Hawkmoth is lowering his standards now, huh kitty," She giggled, but it felt forced.
Chat wanted nothing more than to hug her. It was his fault her dad got akumatized, and she had to pretend that it wasn't her dad out there. She was so strong. He just felt himself open his mouth to tell her. To let her know that he understood, his father got akumaized once too. He knew it was hard. He knew that it must be worse for her. He saw how her father doted on her. Weredad proved that. Her father adored her. He stopped short. He knew he couldn't tell her but oh, how he wanted to. That he was sorry that he wanted to hold her and kiss her. That he loved her as Ladybug and how he was falling for her as a civilian, how he felt guilty kissing her now that he knew that they was no way she would've kissed him as Adrien. He wanted her to know and feel how much he cared about her, and how he wanted to get to know her, and how awful he was for getting to know her behind her back as Adrien. How he wanted to use that information to get make their relationship better. But he knew that would be a bad idea. She just started to forgive Adrien and she would probably end "LadyNoir", as their fan base had started to call them, right then. And he was just so selfish; he couldn't handle it if she wanted to cut him out of her life. She was the best thing in his life. With the neglected and restrictive life, he needed this freedom. The freedom he got from being Chat Noir, from being relyed on and trusted without question, from being her kitty. He needed her support and love and understanding and he was too selfish to let that slip away. Her affection was invaluable. Her presence was so precious.
"Hello? Chat are you listening to me?" Ladybug waved her hand in front of his face.
"Oh, yeah sorry you're beauty was too distracting. Could you tell me again?"
She pursed her lips and flicked his bell teasingly. "Pay attention kitty, or you'll do the next patrol on your own"
Chat closed his eyes stepped back in mock shock. He gasped dramatically and gasped at his chest in the way he always did to make her smile. "My lady you wound me!"
He peaked at her with one eye and smiled as he saw her roll her eyes with a small smile of her own.
His heart warmed. This was it. This was the classic push a pull they had. Their undeniable pattern of flirting and banter back and forth. He couldn't even imagine how the dynamic would change once she knew. It was inevitable he had going to tell her...someday. He just hoped that he had done enough by then.

With everything going on and everything that happened when I was writing (a whole story that would be funny to get into if y’all are interested with friendships, love, betrayal, and a bunch of drama tbh) anyway someone commented on my 2019 inktober story and now I wanna continue it. I’m not dead!!
So a lot happened if I was gonna give u a quick timeline u would just ask if I was ok and honestly I’m not but who the hell is currently??
Anyway the world is...yeah it’s just...like that rn so I’m reverting to escapism as my new old favorite coping mechanism which means I’ll write more! The projects that I started were all miraculous ladybug which if that what y’all want I could probably continue them but there’s other stuff I could write so I decided to list out the things that I drowned in before that I feel I could write pretty accurately in terms of the world and characters.

Day 9 - Swing
Ahhhhh I’m so behind on the prompt list guys! Don’t worry I didn’t abandon the project I’ve just been crazy busy because of midterms (I got an 80 in my Mircobio midterm thou!) but I’m quickly made another chapter. I probably won’t make another until Thursday because I got another midterm (Chem :’( ) then but I’ll try to start catching up and if I don’t complete the challenge before October ends I’ll still update this.

Chapter 9: Swing
Marinette walked in on her mother, pulling her favorite macarons out of the oven and placing them on the counter to cool. Marinette made a mental note to grab a few for Tikki as she kissed her mother on the cheek.
"Hello Marinette, I didn't know you were coming to the bakery today." Sabine took off her oven mitts and patted her apron before giving Marinette a hug.
"Yeah, I was at the park, it was on the way so I thought I'd grab some lunch,"
"Oh, did you come with Alya and Nino?"
"Uhhh no,"
"Then Rose and Juleka?"
"Actually I came with Adrien Agreste,"
Marinette felt awkward saying it. She had told her parents all about how much she hated him and that he was a second Chloe, and basically the worst person on earth, and now she was bringing him over for lunch.
"Marinette...you didn't do anything, did you?" The shorter woman crossed her arms over her chest.
"No! Maman, I wouldn't do that,"
Sabine quirked her eyebrow at her daughter. Marinette swore that woman's eyes could see right through anyone. Marinette sighed and averted her eyes
"Okay, okay I would, but I didn't do anything this time I swear," Sabine kept looking at her "and no I'm not going to either, even though it would be easy to give him a bad croissant," Marinette mumbled.
"Marinette!" She looked about ready to use a wooden spoon on her, and Marinette laughed awkwardly.
"I won't do anything today, I promise"
Sabine gave her a look before nodding and uncrossing her arms.
"The purity of friendships has been tarnished for too long!" Came a bellowing voice from the front of the bakery. “No one values honesty and care for each other anymore,”
"What's going on?!" Marinette came running in a worried Sabine in tow.
There standing in the rubble of what used to be their ceiling was a very pale Adrien. He looked worried, half like he wanted to explain himself and half like he wanted to run away.
Marinette's eyes narrowed, "What happened?"
"I'm sorry," came his weak response "I wanted to tell him we're getting along now, and then I mentioned Chole..." He looked away.
"Oh no,” her eyes widened “ummm Maman I'm going to go to my room to hide can you-" Marinette rushed, already walking to the stairs.
"I'll get him home," Sabine said, placing a gentle hand on Adrien's shoulder.
Marinette ran upstairs as fast as her legs could take her and closed the trap door behind her. She quickly went through her trap door to her balcony as well and surveyed the surroundings. Around her were damaged buildings with cracks along the sides but they were still structurally sound and didn’t look like they were going to topple over. She checked the civilians anyway to see if there were any danger and to see if they’d see her transform however the civilians seemed to be looking away from her and wait what were they doing? They were hugging and revealing secrets and were those two making bracelets out of the florist's flowers? Marinette shook her head her father had always been a big teddy bear at heart but she didn't imagine his akuma would've been so sunshininy especially considering when he was weredad.
"Tikki, transform me!" Marinette yelled feeling the tingly and electric feeling of magic travel through her body and change her clothes.
She grabbed her yoyo feeling its familiar weight and pull and swung it around the nearest pole. She swung through the air not having the time relish how the wind blew through her pigtails and felt against her skin. She swung in the direction of the destruction as if following breadcrumbs and swung straight into Chat Noir.
"My lady, we have to stop meeting like this"

Day 8 - Frail
To anyone who ever left a comment on here through the comment section or in the tags or on Ao3, I wanted to thank you so much! I was planning on doing this until I got too busy or tired of it but it has been a fun experience and the comments keep me going. It makes me feel accountable (in a good way!) to at least get one out when I can even if it’s short.

Chapter 8: Frail
Adrien retracted his hand quickly and stared at her. He came to the stark realization that he was Adrien right now, and Marinette had no idea how that was normal for them. She had no clue that she regularly initiated the touches and cuddles, and well everything. If he was honest, she made most of the moves in the relationship. He just flirted a lot. But Marinette had before now probably never touched him,  which made things so hard! The only reason he hadn't glued himself to her all day when they first started dating was because he didn't know! And now he knew that she was right there behind him all the time! He wanted any excuse to touch her and be near her.
Did that make him a clingy cat? Of course it did, but could you blame him? That's his lady! The most amazing person in his life, a literal hero of Paris, best cuddler in the world, and his partner on and off duty. Sure, Adrien didn't know Marinette, but he felt like he did. Suddenly all the conversations where she had vaguely described her friends and classmates he understood. He could pinpoint who and why. He felt a little bad knowing that he had an unfair advantage as her boyfriend to get her to like him, but he was still going to use that knowledge to get closer to her.
Marinette dusted off the dirt from her pink jeans, "We haven't had lunch. Do you need to go somewhere, or do you wanna come with me to mama's and papa's bakery?"
"You're inviting me?" Adrien was practically giddy. He didn't think she would, in fact, he'd expected her to run off after they talked.
She shrugged, "We could go somewhere else, but papa makes the best bread, and they always make me sandwiches for lunch,"
"No, no I would love to go,"
Marinette nodded and led the way to her house. Adrien knew how to get from his time as Chat Noir, but he was relieved that she led them, so he didn't embarrass himself anymore.
When he entered the bakery, he was greeted by the smell of bread and sugary treats. He felt his mouth salivate.
"Hey, Marinette," Tom Dupain-Cheng greeted his daughter as she went up to him for a kiss on the cheek. "Your mother is in the in the kitchen,"
"Thanks, Papa," Marinette dased into the kitchen, leaving Adrien alone with her father.
Suddenly Adrien felt very small and fragile compared to the burly man in front of him. As Chat Noir, he must've felt more comfortable, but now as Adrien, the boy Marinette had no doubt ranted about hating, he couldn't help but shrink back a little.
He slowly raised his hand for a handshake, "Uhhh, hello Mr. Dupain-Cheng it's nice to meet you,"

Day 7 - Enchanted
Midterms be kicking me in the butt so that’s my excuse for it now becoming bidaily but I got an 89 on my pols test y’all! so yeah I'm feeling proud of myself and now I can write without feeling like I’ll fail my tests (I still got more to go but girl needs a break)

Chapter 7: Enchanted
Marinette watched as he played with August and smiled when August wrapped his fingers around Adrien's finger. His face lit up immediately and Marinette could practically hear his squeal. He turned to her as if seeking approval and Marinette quickly wiped whatever slobber had been left on her face before flashing him a smile. He smiled wider and continued playing with August. Marinette laughed to herself, maybe he wasn't so bad.
 August held his arms up to Adrien chanting "Up, up," in his cute little voice.
Adrien looked up at the mother who smiled and nodded. Adrien grinned excitedly as she handed him over gently. His energy was practically radiating off of him despite him keeping perfectly still. He carried him in one arm using the other to coo and play peek-a-boo with the child. He seemed quite used to August though a fact that struck Marinette as odd. She would imagine he wouldn't have had a chance to interact with babies often and his enthusiasm over holding August. He was so happy and it occurred to Marinette that she'd never seen him smile that big. It was a shame because he looked endearing with that dorky animated expression when he uncovered his face for August. It was miles away from whatever he did as a model. She swore Adrien looked inhuman in some of the fashion magazines she used for inspiration. Either his model smile sucked, or they photoshopped him to the point of creepiness. But now he was kind of cute, laughing along with August she could almost see why he had so many crazed fans. Maybe she had a thing some dumb slimes because she knew Chat's face when interacting with kids was like that too and she fell more in love with it every day.
"I guess August isn't the only one enchanted by you," August's mother laughed "you two make a cute couple,"
"What?! We're - I-uhh I wasn't- we're not-," Marinette stammered.
Adrien laughed lightly and handed August back to his mother. 
He scratched the back of his head, and Marinette could've sworn he cheeks darkened "Thank you, but Marinette isn't dating me,"
August's mother looked at him for a few seconds before turning to look at Marinette, her curly blonde hair bouncing around. Marinette looked at Adrien desperately, mentally screaming help me. 
She smailed watching their silent exchange "If you say so,"
Marinette laughed awkwardly. What was she supposed to respond to that? She was glad that Adrien answered the first time did because she would've for sure would've said that she hated him up until today. Speaking of how Adrien responded, why did he say her name like that??? And why wasn't he saying anything now? And why does he have that dumb look on his face? She wanted to groan she liked it better when she hated him and didn't care.
"Well, we should get going, come on boy," August's mom called out to Axol.
The bear-sized dog stood back up and sauntered off to his mom.
"We should get going too," Adrien said and held out his hand for Marinette and it was then that she realized she'd spent the whole time on the floor. 
Wonderful. Absolutely wonderful.
Adrien froze and awkwardly began to draw back his hand when she was too caught up in her thoughts. Oh kwami, now she's a jerk. She quickly grabbed his hand before he could retract it further and let him pull her up. She got back up and waited for him to let go.
But he didn't. 
Marinette cleared her throat and he finally dropped their hands and looked at her like a deer in headlights. She laughed. She guessed it made sense considering how clingy Chloe acted with him but this boy really didn't know how to be normal huh? She'd have to get used to it she supposed.

Day 6 - Husky
I’m not sure if ya’ll know this but I write the chapter the day of the prompt like an idiot but because I had an essay due this Sunday I missed both Saturday and Sunday’s prompt but no worries I speed wrote them today. tomorrow I’ll write today’s and tomorrow’s after my test so I’m back to my barely on time ways lol. Anyway enough rambling enjoy~

Chapter 6: Husky
Adrien grinned, that was enough for him. He was dedicated to making this work. To get them to a place where she wouldn't be disappointed when she found out who he is. Where he could listen to her problems and understand, rather than the vague descriptions she gave Chat Noir. He wanted to go to the movies, and have picnics, and know what her room looks like by heart. He wants to know her in the way he can't in their superhero personas, and he would wait as long as it takes to get them to that point. He just hoped that she let him.
"So why now?" Marinette interrupted his thoughts.
"Oh, uhhh..." he stalled. 
He hadn't even thought of that, of course, she would want to know! He had just insulted her yesterday, and today he's making amends? He had to think quickly!
"Because?"
Not that quickly!
She stared at him, and he shifted away from her. She leaned in, and now he understood why she hated it so much when he did it. But it was different because this was his lady, and she was so close, and he couldn't kiss her or touch her because she didn't know and then in addition to being stupid he'd be creepy! He saw her bluebell eyes analyzing him, and he smelled the familiar scent of the bakery on her clothes and wondered how he'd never pieced it together. He could do physics and solve equations, but he was clueless when it came to her. So he panicked and fell off the bench.
"Oh my god!" Marinette scrambled up.
He held his head.
"Are you hurt? Is something wrong with your head?" She asked sitting down next to him
"Everything, but it was like that before I fell,"
She stared at him for a minute before bursting out in laughter, "You said it, not me. Oh my god, Adrien, I thought your dad was going to hate me more because I broke you!"
Adrien gave a confused smile, "Why would father hate you?"
Marinette frowned, "I thought we were trying to get along. You know why, don't lie to me, I heard Chloe,”
"I don't know what Chole said, but father doesn't hate you. Father chose your design for the hat competition, so if anything, he approves?" Adrien sat back up.
"The same competition that you were going to sabotage to make me look bad in front of your father." 
"What? No, I -"
"But your allergy was enough of an excuse so you-"
"Marinette, wait no that's all wrong! I didn't want to sabotage you. I wouldn't jeopardize your dream like that. Sure, I hated you at that time, but Nino told me to give you another chance. That's why I told you about it before father announced it,"
Marinette stayed quiet, looking down at her hands.
"Marinette?" He reached for her shoulder. "I swear I'm telling the truth,"
"UGHHH!" Marinette yelled.
Adrien quickly pulled his hand back, watching with wide eyes as Marinette stood up and began pacing.
"I can't believe I fell for it! Chole! Why did I believe her, Chole of all people?!" She stomped back and forth, seething.
Adrien frowned. He should've known that Chloe would want them to stay enemies, but he didn't know that she'd go so far.
Suddenly a dog ran up and tackled Marinette to the ground where she landed half on top of Adrien.
"I'm so sorry!" yelled a woman running after the dog with a stroller.
She stopped to catch her breath as she got to the dog that had now found his place next to Marinette. He was licking her face making it difficult for her to get back up.
He was a large white husky with grey-blue eyes and seemed unrelenting in his affection until Marinette started to laugh.
"Axol come here. Leave that poor girl alone," The woman called, patting her legs in a command.
Axol went to her side and sat down, much calmer than before.
"I'm so so sorry! We trained him to lick and play with August when he's upset after he got akumatized for the second time." she motioned to the toddler in the stroller that Adrien hadn't seen until then. "He must've thought you were upset," Adrien recognized the baby as Gigantitan, and if he recalled correctly they did defeat him twice. One time when he wanted a lollipop, and the other time cake. He got up and waved at August, after all, they did have a love of sweets in common. August giggled, grabbing his pointer finger. Adrien felt his heart melt, August was so cute. He looked to Marinette, who after wiping the dog slobber off her face was smiling at them.
He felt himself smile too. That was a good sign, right?
Decided to do the read under the cut thing let me know if you like it better that way or it’s annoying because personally I never really minded it.
