one thing that bothers me about people in 2024 trying to recreate the VHS "aesthetic" is when they imply we were all heathen cavemen who either didn't have or didn't use the tracking buttons. if there were big shitty horizontal lines in the middle of your picture you didn't just watch the tape like that, you could fix it. the subtle art of tracking is being erased from memory.

i think my absolute favorite feature of the apple pencil is that there's no way to turn it off, so it's just constantly draining its battery even when you're not using it, so if you're someone like me who only uses it occasionally because drawing patterns for your projects gives you a lot of anxiety, when you DO finally go to use it it is almost guaranteed to be dead, so you end up having to draw with your finger instead of the $120 tool you bought because you don't have enough energy in your body to get up & get the charging cord, & there's a cat asleep in your lap anyway
