The Court of Thorns and Roses: Chapter 4 Recap (Spoilers)
This is when the story gets really good. It's the moment Feyre goes on an adventure and leaves her family behind.
My takes:
The beast (Fae) is looking for the one who killed the wolf, as it turns out they were friends and it was a Fae in a wolf form. You know, the one Feyre gutted and sold to the Big Muscle Mommy? Yeah, that's the one.
Nesta and Elain are rightfully terrified, because they are pussies whom never learnt how to fight and relied on Feyre's survival skills their entire lives. *Alexa play Bad Idea by Girl in Red.*
The father firstly is like 'Fuck dude, what do I do?'. But then when Feyre confesses to killing the wolf he finally decides to grow a pair and bravely says 'It's me you're looking for. I killed the wolf.' The beast looks at him, then at his crippled leg, then back at him and shots him a side- eye before turning back to Feyre.
The beast gives Feyre two options: 1. She'll be brutally gutted right here, right now. And 2. Feyre will go with the beast to the Fae land and face the High Fae Court for her crime. If she survives then she can live there with the beast.
Confused Feyre asks the beast why he showed her mercy, he didn't reply. Which is an important later on, because Fae can NOT lie. They are obligated to tell the truth, however they are allowed to choose how much information they reveal, because apparently not sharing information is not the same as lying. (It's an opinion for sure.)
Feyre is understandably confused as fuck and not sure what to do. If she goes her family will survive, but she has no idea what is going to happen to her, she can not trust the beast that just tried to kill her. OR she can die right here and now in front of her family.
During her existential crisis her father chimes in and offers the beast money in exchange for his daughter's life. The beast politely asks 'How much is your daughter's life worth according to you then?' And he couldn't answer his question. He would have to borrow money from other people and spend the rest of his lifetime paying off his debt. Alternatively he could name a low price he could pay, inevitably insulting Feyre. So he did the next best thing (according to him). He very dramatically grabbed Feyre and said 'Go my daughter, save yourself. And if you manage to escape never come back, live your life, be free.' Which basically translates to 'I don't want to see you being ripped to shreds right now, so go, so I can say that I gave you up in order to save you. Also, I told you not to come back because your chances of survival are lower than my self- esteem and not knowing how you're doing is better than having your death on my consciousness.'' Asshole.
Not having much choice Feyre agreed to go. Before she left though she told her fam that if they need help they should go to Isaac (the fuck buddy) since she taught him how to hunt one year prior. And told Nesta NOT to marry Tomas. His dad regularly practices MMA on his wife and their GROWN bitch ass sons never do anything about it. So, unless Nesta wants to become next Kenny (Southpark) she shouldn't marry this dude.
Then Feyre and the beast took off.
Once again, I love the pacing. The chapters are fairly short and easy to follow (I'm just kinda stupid sometimes). In chapter five some shit is about to go down.

The Court of Thorns and Roses: Chapter 3 Recap (Spoilers)
This chapter was a ride y'all. I have to admit that this series is addicting, a true page-turner. There is always something interesting going on.
Here are some takes:
When the sisters arrive in the town the readers get introduced to The Children of The Blessed, a religious group (I feel like it's a cult) which worships a High Fae, a powerful being which took over the lands and now (kind of) rules over humans. Bottom line, they're (allegedly) terrifying and strong as fuck, so it's better to avoid them like a plague. Still, Children of the Blessed (I'll refer to them as COB), claim that the Faes aren't all that bad and if you obey them they can be pretty cool. So like. join them.
The sisters are not amused and Nesta is ready to throw hands with the girl whom started the conversation with her. From description alone the woman sounds hot, not gonna lie. Big blue eyes, long dark hair, flawless skin. Very noice.
After dragging Nesta away and de- escalating the situation Feyre leaves her sisters for a moment in order to search for a buyer. (Remember the shady ass wolf? Yeah, Feyre basically gutted him and tried to sell the fur etc.)
She finally found someone who was interested. A huge, rough looking lady assassin. In Feyre's own words 'A woman as huge as a mountain.' Which means only one thing, Big Muscle Mommy. And since we don't know her name I'll refer to her as such for the time being.
Big Muscle Mommy buys the wolf stuff from Feyre and tells her about the dangers of the forest they both hunt in. She then shows her wounds from a Fae attack, (hot) and advices Feyre not to go this far in the forest on her own.
after the exchange the sisters pull up again and demand some coin from Feyre. Hoes.
Later on Isaac shows up and we get a description of his appearance. Tall, kind of lanky with handsome face and shaggy brown hair. So your average pretentious art student that has impossible coffee order and argues about minor things. Still, from the way Feyre described him (the story is told from her perspective) he's a good guy. They just fuck around and are chill like that. Though she did mention that their sexual adventures were not the best. Still, mediocre sex with someone you trust is better that no sex.
At the end of the chapter the sisters return to their father and chill. Not for long though, because suddenly a wave of cold winter air rushes through their home (more like a hut) and a huge beast appears in front of them.
Once again, no fillers, good pace and engaging characters. I still like/am hooked on every possible storyline (I hope Nesta gets redemption.) So far, so good.

The Court of Thorns and Roses: Chapter 2 Recap (contains spoilers)
Reading is hard when you don't have much time, however, here are my impressions from chapter two. After I'm finished with with the book I'll write a proper review.
Takes:
I fucking hate Nesta. I hope/think she'll get a redemption arc, but now she annoys the shit out of me.
I'm torn between feeling sorry for and annoyed at Feyra's (the main character's) father. Like, the dude is disabled so I won't give him too much flack for that, HOWEVER it's his behaviour that pisses me off. Like, his daughter went to hunt on her own in the most dangerous part of the forest in order to get the food for her family (father and three daughters) and to sell the rest at the market, otherwise they can't afford anything. I'm not saying he should hunt instead of her (in his case that'd be a suicide mission), but at least notice that she's gone ??? Like, come on bro.
This chapter mostly focuses on the family dynamics between Feyra and her sisters and dad, but I was still slightly confused with the age order. Is Feyra the youngest or the middle child? She is 100% not the eldest, that's Nesta. I double checked it afterwards and Feyre is the youngest. Which is weird, because this responsibility often times falls on the eldest child. (I googled Sarah J. Maas and she is indeed an only child. Nothing wrong with that, it's just sometimes obvious in the writing.)
The readers also learn that Feyre loves to paint and is overall an artsy person. Her sisters sometimes make fun of her for this.
Feyre made a promise at her mother's deathbed that she'll always protect hers sisters and that it's her responsibility. Feyre herself doesn't know why her mother didn't appoint this task to Nesta, but she accepted it nevertheless.
Isaac is growing on me. It seems like I was right about the friends with benefits situation. If it's consensual you go kids, do your thing.
Elain (the middle child) and Nesta rarely do any work around the house. Pretty much only when Feyre forces them too. Which only highlights the unhealthy relationship they have. The older sisters are only after the money and both want to marry rich. There is even some friction between Nesta and Feyre where they criticize each other's romantic advances or lack thereof. Nesta roast Feyre for fucking around with Isaac and not really wanting to get serious and Feyre mocks Nesta for wanting to get married to some dude named Tomas. (Tomas seems shady).
At the end of the chapter the sisters get ready to go to the town the next morning to sell some stuff and hopefully get some money.
I like this chapter, it didn't feel like filler and painted the situation even better. Now we know the family dynamics which sets the story in motion. I couldn't help but think that certain situations were a bit edgy, but I'm not mad about it. It's young adult AND dark fantasy series at the end of the day, it's supposed to be a little bit angsty.

Army update #3: The Bois
After some time I finally managed to put the Troggs together! And, in my humble opinion, they look great. The details on them are insane.
Tumblr media
Big boi number one.
Tumblr media
Big boi number two.
Tumblr media
And big boi number three.
I started reading about the lore some time ago and I'm obsessed. The dynamic between Goblins and Troggs is really cute. Big, strong slow fighters and smoll, fast balls of anger. I don't know what it is about it that gets me, but o absolutely love it.
Here is Uno and one of the big Bois in comparison.
Tumblr media
I can't wait to paint them.

Army update #2: Ed, Edd & Eddy joined the chat
Today on my way to work I kept thinking about the colour pallet for my army. When I was getting myself some lunch I noticed an interesting soda can. (You probably know where this is going).
Tumblr media
Those colours are EXACTLY what I was looking for. Gentle tint of mint was the missing piece I needed. Now I know how to proceed.
After work I swung by the War Store and got myself propper clippers. They were kind of pricey, but it's okay. I don't mind spending a bit more money on something I'll be using regularly.
Tumblr media
I also picked up the figurine I started painting the last time. When you buy your first set you get one for free. I still haven't finished painting this lil guy, but will do that in a free moment.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then I finally finished the base on Uno. He still got a long way to go, but ita a start. After adding some more highlights he'll be a beautiful boi.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After that I took some pics of the bigger bois I partly put together the last time. They're not done yet because I was too scared to proceed with regular scissors and damaging the arms.
Ed: the one with one paw on a rock.
Tumblr media
Edd: the one with cool as skull on his side.
Tumblr media
And Eddy: the one with small, cute bone attached to his hip.
Tumblr media
Tumblr doesn't allow me to put more that 10 pictures, but it's okay. I'll upload more pictures of the bois once they're all built and covered in base. All you have to know now is that their asses are showing and I love them for it. Healthy kings embracing body positivity. Just take my word for it.
That's it for now. I'll keep y'all posted :)

A Court Of Thorns And Roses - Chapter One Recap
Recently, (after lots of people recommended it to me) I finally got myself a copy of the first book from the ACOTAR series. In this segment of my blog I'll go over each and every chapter of the books I'm currently reading and share with y'all my opinions on them. Every time I'm finished with a book I'll start analyzing new one.
Please bear in mind that I'm in no way qualified to criticize literature, doing this just for fun and am more than open to interesting discussions.
With that out of way, let's jump into it.
First impressions:
- I love fantasy, so I'm pretty much sold.
- The pacing is great so far, all needed information/background is handled in the first few pages.
- The author uses "and" a lot. Like, a lot lot.
- Who the fuck is Isaac? Do we hate him? Is he okay? Is it some kind of toxic fwb situation? Or is he rapey?
- Something is up with that damn wolf, I just know it. Shit is gonna hit the fan because of it.
- I sincerely hope that the main character won't go from pretty cool and badass to some horney, spineless cardboard cut- out.
Verdict: So far so good. I'm hooked and dying to know what happens next.

Army update #1: Meet Uno
Yesterday I put my first ever miniature together, so to celebrate that I named him Uno(kinda childish, I know). My personal experimental guinea pig. Unfortunately for me, once I got home I noticed that I didn't have appropriate clippers. (I'll get them tomorrow). So I had to improvise with an old pair of scissors. But hey, I made it. I accidentally cut the tip of his beard, but managed to glue it back together. I'm still deciding in the colour theme of my army, but am loving the idea of blue, purple and emerald green with some silver touches. I'll update once the base coat is set. In the meantime, say hi to Uno :)

Just got my first Warhammer set!
So long story short, I was interested in Warhammer for a while now and few days ago while in the city I happened to walk past the Warhammer store. I couldn't help myself and went in. The guys working there were very sweet and helped me with choosing my first friction, The Goblin Tribe (from The Age of Sigmar).
They also gave me a quick miniature painting tutorial and were overal very thoughtful. Not gonna lie, this warmed my heart. I remember getting MTG cards back in the day and guys(players) acting hostile and borderline misogynistic.
All in all I'm very excited to build and paint my very first army. I'll be posting updates here.

Sup y'all :)
Hallo everyone, I'm Hozt and I'd like to welcome you to this shit show of a blog. Like the title states, I have severe ADHD, too many hobbies and a girlfriend who is completely done with me talking her ears off whenever new hyper fixation arises (Spoiler: It's often.).
So, here I am, writing this blog with intention of sharing my hobbies with you.
Think of:
- Pop Culture (movies, history, games, D&D etc), psychology, art and much more.
- How it feels to have ADHD, being diagnosed as an adult (it sucks) and how it impacts one's day- to- day life.
- Being LGBTQ+ in today's society. Is it better? Worse?
- Spirituality. Religion/religious trauma, Wicca.
- Growing up as an immigrant in a foreign country (culture shock, expectations, prejudice).
So, if you're just as unhinged as I am and at least 3 things from the list apply to you as well then you're more than welcome to stick around :)
