played “slay the princess” and I’m thinking about monolithic again

the interesting thing about monolithic is that we only see the final route. we get to see hypno and xb face challenges and prevail and see xb become a god and then they return to the normal world and are happy. playing stp and the fact that you keep repeating the same scenario but slightly different made me think about all the routes we didn’t see where hypno and/or xb were turned into monoliths or killed. we know they happened because we see at least 2 hypnos and 1 xb, and the evil xb talks about how they keep repeating this and how he has to stop it. how many times do you think hypno and xb failed before they escaped? what force kept bringing them back to the start and starting the situation over and over again?

and then of course there’s the whole thing the princess and the quiet have going on where in each route they hate each other they love each other they try to kill each other but deep down they care and they’re meant for each other. and yeah that’s hypno/xb alright. especially that scene where xb comforts the monolith hypno about how his xb treated him… and then of course by coincidence they both end with the protagonist becoming a god. augh I just have so many thoughts
