TO (SOME) TTC

You can like whatever the hell you like, but you need to understand that the people you are idolizing or romanticizing aren’t all peachy. maybe they helped grandma cross the street when they were fourteen or stopped a thief. it doesn’t matter. the people who committed those crimes are sick in the head and you should never ever see them as someone to look up to. it’s totally fine to appreciate their good sides, because everybody has those. but if you are supporting them because of their crimes then i’d hate to break it to you, you are supporting those crimes. not to mention sometimes ableist because some of the people you idolize had mental illnesses. Oh, and the Columbine shooting and Florida shooting are off limits. Yes some of the criminals that are idolized in the TTC have done far worse BUT those who committed the crimes weren’t old enough to have an ‘actual life’ or to do particularly good things. they were just mentally deranged and bitter. Not to mention, the survivors are alive today. basically, imagine this: you and your best friend are in a shooting. your best friend gets shot and dies. you survive. you see people on tumblr calling the shooter “cute” and “sexy” and whatever the fuck. wouldn’t you feel offended and completely distraught?
