Whatever you do, don't imagine Lucy and Cooper finding Janey alive somehow. Don't imagine them traveling the wasteland together. Don't imagine Lucy finding peaceful moments of quiet to let herself be the teacher she used to be, telling Janey stories of battles and victories from hundreds of years ago. Don't imagine Janey looking at her with big curious eyes, always ready with the next question. Don't imagine Cooper, a rare hint of smile on his face, thinking "yes, it was all worth it."

It gets cold in the desert at night and Lucy is definitely not used to being in an environment that isn't temp controlled.

Anyway, Cooper refuses to light a fire after dark because it attracts undesirables and wasteland creatures.

It starts with Cooper tossing her his jacket, a little heart to heart is exchanged and then the night ends with them sharing a bedroll with Lucy tucked up against Cooper's chest like a human teddy bear.

I headcanon that ghouls are very warm because of the radiation so she's basically snuggling a radiator.

I also have ideas about him pushing her face first into that bedroll and fucking her like he's feral. But those are for a different post :)

Yeah, I'm totally normal about Lucy and Cooper's dynamic. It's not like we learn in the first episode that Cooper was divorced and unhappy. Immediately followed by Lucy's marriage application and wedding which ended with her husband stabbing her. Yeah, it's not like we learn later on that Cooper was also metaphorically stabbed in the back by his wife's beliefs. It's not like Cooper told his wife that he loved her because he trusted her to always do the right thing. Yeah, it's not like Lucy always tried to do the right thing and treated him right. Also, it's not like the two had a bloody "exchange" of fingers, evoking the red thread of fate, also known as the red thread of Marriage... Yeah, okey-dokey.

i love when a fandom lets a female lead be a free sexplorer by multishipping her and not limiting her to one relationship.

Okay so the fact that Lucy has a necrotic finger grafted back onto her hand, kinda like how ghouls have decayed looking skin, and Cooper sewed her finger onto his hand. A finger that's basically untouched by the wastes, uncaloused and soft... Traits that they both need to embrace about themselves.

Lucy needs to become a bit more rough, hardened, less naive and trustful (while still maintaining her kindness and morals)

Cooper needs to soften up, accept help and love and understand that not everyone wants him dead and not everyone will betray him.

Those are wedding rings in my mind.

Let's think about Lucy from the Ghoul's POV. This girl is spewing Vault bullshit, acting all righteous. Then he sells her for parts but she comes back in one piece AND with a new finger. And all of this happens after she decapitated a man, as far as he's concerned. No wonder he offers her to brave the Wasteland together.
