I’m 30!!!!

I don’t even come on here anymore but in honor of this milestone birthday I had to make a post 😂

I think about all of the friends I had on here often. I hope you’re all doing well 🥹

The first half of 3 was sooooo so so hard, much of the time. Already the second half is so much better, it feels like we’ve turned a corner.

Jake and I are in Nashville TN til Saturday! It’s almost our 5 year anniversary so we’re celebrating a little early with a little two day vacay. We just kind of randomly picked Nashville as neither of us have been, it’s a close drive and sounded fun 😂 so far today we drove here, did an impromptu hour hike, got checked into our very cool airbnb, I took a surprise nap and then we went downtown and had dinner at Bartaco 😂 I am stuffed full of tacos and heading back to that sweet sweet jacuzzi.

Maybe I will start posting on here again?!

Core friend group 💜

I’m just really really bad at posting on here but we are doing really well!!! Jake got a new job today!! The water spigot on the front of our house is spewing water back into the house and it’s soaked into the carpet in the office and playroom so that sucks but we will get it fixed! School and open gym have ended for the summer, so I’m trying to fill our days with lots of fun adventures - so far so good! Jade is pregnant 🥹 and due right before Christmas! Another baby cousin for the crew 🩵

Our cruise is coming up SO SOON. 22 days til our flight 😬 I have a cartfullll on Amazon of odds and ends I still need to purchase for the trip. This weekend is really busy, we have some kinda social plan Friday through Sunday, and I need to make lemon bars for one thing and another side….cheesy potato casserole maybe…for another thing. Cleaned out the fridge earlier and it is bare bones, definitely need to get groceries tomorrow. My best friend Robin’s birthday dinner is tomorrow, Saturday a pool party cookout at our cousin’s house and Sunday the annual Indy 500 party.

Something spiked my coffee again today because I outdid myself yet again! 😂 open gym in the morning, I took her inside the actual CFA instead of the drive thru for the first time in like two years lol, then a trip to target aka the entire mall because she thinks that “target” means the whole place 😅, then we drove ten mins down the road to a park we don’t often visit, and by then it was like an hour before my mom got off work and I knew she was gonna keep her tonight so I was biding my time lol. So after the park I took her to the warehouse 😂 where she climbed and trampolined and kicked and chased after an amazing amount of soccer balls. Then I finally deposited her at my mom’s house. I think she’s getting unrealistic expectations of what our days will be like 😂

Then Jake and I went to Food Truck Friday kidfree for the first time ever and it was just weird to not have her there. It’s so funny/weird how you just can’t shut that part of your brain off. Or at least I can’t. The whole time I was like “she would love how many kids are at the playground. She’d love how many dogs are here” etc. After we ate we walked down the big walking loop that the park is on. A ways further down is a pond and I wanted to look for ducks. Instead we spotted at least three turtles swimming 🥰🥰 and after admiring them for several minutes I said something like “this is better than ducks. I bet we won’t see something cooler than this” and then looked up and across the trail were two fuzzy juvenile deer taking turns grazing and keeping watch in some grass. And it was so peaceful and beautiful! Ahh. They just watched us and flicked their cute lil tails around. I love deer!

So of course I’m like “Holly would have loved this”. 😂

We had a fabulous day today, that ended with me tripping over a stool while Holly holding and falling while also slamming her head into the bathroom door 😭😭

The good stuff: she had school this morning so that’s an automatic win in her book. When I picked her up it had warmed up to like 65* and it was just a beautiful day and I was feeling caffeinated I guess! I asked her where she wanted to go. She said the park, so we went to our big downtown one. She made a little friend immediately as per usual, my sweet social girl.

At this point I had basically decided to give her a big fun day, power through without nap and go to bed promptly at 7:30. After an hour or so of the park I took her downtown for ice cream. We sat at the counter in there and enjoyed our chocolate and lemon custard scoops 😋

And thennnn, and I seriously don’t know how I was so goddamn peppy, I took her to the science museum 😂

My MIL even took her to Sam’s club this evening, like seriously this child almost did too many things today 😂

AND THEN FOR THE GRAND FINALE, right as the day is winding down, we have the whole tripping and falling and head slamming incident 😖 I always wrap her up like a baby burrito in her big hooded towel after baths, and about half the time I carry her out of the bathroom like a baby all wrapped up in my arms and we’re both laughing and being silly. Except tonight when the way I was holding her meant that 1) I couldn’t see the stool that tripped me and 2) I couldn’t throw an arm out to catch us. My hands were stuck under her and in that moment I would’ve dropped her, so we just fell 😭 she hit her little head hard against the bathroom door as we went down. She cried a lot at first but calmed down in a little bit. We called the nurse line and they said what to watch for and to keep her up for an hour. So, the napless child (minus 10 mins in the car) who I wanted to get to bed earlyish, had to stay up til 9. And probably with a headache (we did give her Tylenol). Poor baby 😭

Also let me tell you WHAT (ironically bc I’m preaching to the choir to most of you but) THREE IS HARDER THAN TWO LMAO

A good Saturday 🤩 farmers market and the library this morning. We checked out a different one today than the market I grew up going to and it was nice, I def spent a lot of money on croissants and a lemon cheesecake bar and these brownies for Holly 😅 lots of people complimented our matching outfits, and it was ALL old people! Lol

A parenting first today: pick child up out of crib and discover huge clump of half dried vomit in her hair 🤢🤮

Still sick, but still cute 🥺 her stamina for outdoor play is def low but we’re still trying to get outside a little bit each day. This was in our front yard after we went on a target drive up run earlier. She chased a bird and then was like, “I need to take a nap”.

The weeks when we’re paying for four days of activities, but she gets to do none of them, are really bummers 😛 it’s just part of it I know but I’m still gonna complain about it!
