Hey everyone!

I hope everything is going according to plan for your assignments. If not, please let me know ASAP about things like:

Something in your recipient's request is confusing or you need more information (message me and I'll serve as intermediary).

Something has come up and you need to default (the sooner I know, the sooner the assignment can go to pinch hits and the easier it is on everyone).

Something less-drastic has come up and you think you'll need a SHORT extension on the due date (this has generally not been a problem, but I do need to know).

You need a beta reader or some other form of help with your assignment.

what exactly is a dear author letter? i've never heard of it before and am unsure what to put in the signup field asking for that

A Dear Author Letter is something you post to your own space (Tumblr, Dreamwidth, Google Doc, whatever) and link in your sign-up where you can say more about your requests, likes, dislikes, etc. They are optional but highly encouraged for the following reasons:

If you add a link to your Dear Author letter to the Google form, it will post to a spreadsheet where everyone can see it and if someone is in a treat-writing mood you might get an extra fic!

If you are requesting a rare ship you can use your Dear Author to gush about your obscure OTP and maybe inspire someone to write it who might not have otherwise.

Likewise, if you like (or aren't averse to receiving) things that might not be...typical exchange fare you can make that clear in your letter (sometimes referred to as creating an "opt-in" list).

If you want an example, here's your mod's Dear Author from last year's version of this exchange.

Tested a few things - now you will need to specify Men's Hockey RPF or Women's Hockey RPF but the newly associated tags appear to be behaving properly.
