It’s about time we have a fictional princess who actually enjoys being a princess.

She enjoys the politics. She enjoys the diplomacy. And she enjoys the balls and banquets and attention and pretty dresses and that doesn’t make her a dumb shallow bimbo or some regressive anti feminist handmaid or whatever the kids say these days about women who don’t fall in line with their Strong Female Character power fantasies.

All the princesses urging for ‘something more’ that’s all fine and good but I’m ready to see a princess who appreciates that being a princess is already a lot!

normal things with creepy connotations:

stopped clocks

people accidentally speaking in unison

cold wind at night (when it’s not snowing)

seeing a light go off in a window

static in the air - everyone’s hair is standing up

slow piano music in a place that’s otherwise silent

finding something you lost a long time ago sitting in plain sight

#It’s about breaking the circle of abuse and being better than him

The entire green/Hightower side is so tragic and misguided in their self-righteousness. To have Otto force his daughter in a child marriage under the guise of making her happy as Queen. For that cycle to continue with Alicent, forcing Aegon to be King when he all he wanted was to be loved by his parents. Criston brutally murdering loyal and respected nobles to maintain his honor, when he was willing to leave it behind for Rhaenyra all those years ago. Their entire side usurping Rhaenyra not for the realm, not for the people, not for even Viserys, but for this sense of duty and ego that none of them even wanted. What a tragedy.

Alicents plan with rhaenys was really “let’s bond over the fact that you were fucking robbed of the throne because of your gender and then you can help me steal the throne from another woman on account of her gender”

Alicent literally admitting to Rhaenys that she would’ve been a better ruler than viserys !! That viserys would’ve been better as a nobleman, that Rhaenys was better fit and being passed off because she was a woman was mistake, only to THEN ASK rhaenys to do the same thing to Rhaenyra. Like alicent must know that Rhaenyra is better fit than aegon, the rapist who doesn’t even want the crown, but despite that alicent feels compelled to unseat the true queen for a man. It’s such a great depiction of how the patriarchy works because until Rhaenys points out that alicent could be on the throne, alicent only ever thought of her position as one to guide the men who hold power over her to peace. Alicent is such a victim to the brainwashing of Otto and the society around her, but god does that not justify how her actions affect the women around her
