maidens —
• each seasonal maiden has a specific element: spring — earth, summer — fire, fall — air / electricity, winter — water / ice.
• maiden flames reflect their aura color rather than their eye color. so for instance, if a maiden with gold eyes had a blue aura, their flames would be blue.
• maidens are not gender locked ! there were instances of men, and trans / nonbinary / genderfluid people becoming maidens throughout remnant's history. despite this, the name unfortunately stayed and is in need of being modernized.

more lore ! ami fey and nicholas schnee are responsible for the white hair, light eyes and pale skin within their families.
certain traits do filter through from other family members, such as ami’s husband passing on his tan skin, darker hair and brown eyes, and nicholas’ wife passing on her dark hair and brown eyes to gregory. this is why willow and gregory look nothing alike despite being siblings.

what is this?
‘history has its eyes on you’ is a rwby story that is crossed over with ace attorney.
where did it come from?
this story was born out of us being two roleplayers in the ace attorney community (a phoenix wright and a miles edgeworth) who had a rwby verse for their muses.
we got to talking about our verses. it began when we joked, saying the ozqrow in v3 was the rwby version of narumitsu. from there, we began to really build a story to it. this was back in 2017ish, and at first, the verse was messy.
we had our characters existing on their own but sharing traits with ones that existed, then v6 rolled around and despite how the volume made me feel, everything fell into place perfectly. we began to write our story alongside the volume but made some changes. eventually, we shifted the canon entirely. phoenix became an official branwen sibling, turning them into triplets. this was due to his physical appearance matching that of qrow and raven, alongside his name being a type of bird.
at first, we had it that he tried to denounce the tribe and dropped the name branwen and picked up wright in order to hide his identity, but overtime, we felt that we wanted him closer to qrow so he became a branwen entirely. this in turn changes the dynamic between qrow and raven, and changes a lot of qrow’s character as he had a sibling closer to him than raven in canon rwby.
the next major change was edgeworth. at first, he was similar to his canon self, which was he was simply miles edgeworth, was the son to gregory edgeworth, but with my au where misty fey is his mother, thus giving him maya and mia as sisters.
he had a stupid semblance, one that is actually embarrassing to even think about lmao, and eventually, i began to draw comparisons between weiss and edgeworth from his original canon. from there, i decided to make him a schnee and gave him the hereditary semblance with a twist, which changed the semblance as a whole as opposed to what we have in canon. this in turn changes gregory from an edgeworth to a schnee and gave willow a brother.
anyway, long story short, we changed a lot from how it first started and changed a lot of the lore from the canon show.
now, big warning: this might not be appreciated. our changes might not even make sense, but it’s what has been in the works for the past few years. you don’t have to like it, that’s fine, all we ask is that you leave your hate at the door. this verse might be crazy and not liked by the fandom but it’s something we’re proud of
what is the reason for the title?
i got the title off of a song from hamilton. i felt the lyric was pretty fitting for the story we wanted to tell: that our characters are going to make history and be known as legends and everything. plus it’s also a message from a previous generation telling the future generations that they’re important to time too.
this never happened in canon ! / this isn’t canon.
hence the ‘ canon divergent ’ status repeatedly listed. we’re aware most of the story contradicts canon, there are reasons for this. again, like the warnings and advice said, if you don’t like it, you don’t have to read it.

you may, but keep in mind we may not always approve of them, whether because we feel it may contradict the story or it simply doesn't fit. it's nothing personal if we deny it
can i join the writing team?
unfortunately, no. we created the story and we prefer to be the ones working on it as we already have a lot set up between us. again, if you have ideas, you're more than welcome to share.

yes, you'd be right. i use a lot of anime and game abilities and weapons as inspiration or direct transfers. you'll prominently see influences and inspiration from: naruto, black butler, jujutsu kaisen, destiny, kingdom hearts
what happened to character(s) xyz?
we took them out as we either already had characters with the allusion or because we felt they were unnecessary additions to the story
what about ace attorney character(s) xyz?
we didn't want to overcrowd the storyline with too many characters as we already had a lot to start with. we mostly picked characters that we knew would get development and be beneficial to the plot. same goes for rwby characters

four gods existed before remnant's creation. the gods of life, death, light and darkness. the gods of life and death were older than light and darkness, and were twins. they were in charge of the universe.
together they created the universe, a galaxy of planets, moons and stars. eventually, they created the original remnant as a blank canvas, and decided to retire and hand off the universe and remnant to light and darkness.
unfortunately, unlike life and death — who got along rather well, light and darkness simply couldn't make it work. the two were always fighting, light's ego too much for the youngest sibling to handle. they wound up making a truce between each other with the creation of humanity before they also abandoned remnant, leaving it godless and only a fraction of what it used to be.

a little lore update but james ironwood is about 10 years older than team bffs, making him 27 at the start of the series when he becomes the headmaster of atlas. he ranked general when he was 24, making him the youngest general atlas has had in years.
