Towl finale thoughts
I wanted to stew with my thoughts for the night, so as not to give a knee jerk reaction. And I think I'll give the episode another watch too now that I know where it was going.
Overall, I did find the finale a disappointment. That's not to say there were not little things I loved about it. I loved all the Richonne stuff, I loved the reunion at the end. It got me emotionally.
But the episode itself felt entirely too rushed to me. I don't even know why. The previous eps did a very good job dealing with the traumas emotionally between Rick and Michonne, and I enjoyed them all except episode 5 (the Jadis heavy one). But then I suppose i keep remembering this was supposed to be a film. And with that in mind the structure makes sense. This last episode is clearly act 3 of a movie.
I do miss that Rick was not reunited with the rest of his found family. But i also get that it wasn't the story told. This was for Rick and Michonne. But if this is to be the last we ever see of Rick, it does feel like a thread has been hung loose here. We do want to see Daryl and Carol and Maggie's reactions to Rick again too! It's natural to want that. I can only hope, on absolute wishful thinking, that the Daryl and Dead City Spin offs tie up with some Grimes resolutions too.
Otherwise, towl was enjoyable it a little rushed in the end for me. I'm happier it happened than not at all though, and thankful to Andy and Danai for their amazing contributions ❤️❤️❤️

Before I forget, had some epic twd dream last night that merle did not die and stayed with the group. During a time, michonne, he and daryl are separated from everyone else and end up at this surfing beach (lol)..daryl has this idea that they get to this tower in the middle if the sea (might have been a lighthouse) where they would live for a bit until winter ended and they could find Rick again. Anyway merle was very sweet and was wearing a jacket with yondu design stitched on the back. and michonne was very protective of him, and it was very sweet when merle smiled genuinely and I wish this had happened. This dream sounds insane now but trust it was amazing
