This is the same fandom that villanized Tyler and called him a misogynist when he *checks notes* got mad that his ex girlfriend/love of his life/best friend slept with the guy who enslaved him, almost killed Caroline several times and actually murdered his mother.
It still doesn't sit right with me that TVD framed Tyler as being in the wrong for being upset that his "friends" played a role in his uncle's death and then proceeded to lie about it even after he learned about the supernatural. Like, if I'm being honest, Mason wouldn't have been much of an issue had Damon been kept in check and didn't attack him. Even if he was working with Katherine, he definitely wouldn't have for long if he knew she was a threat. Like the Scooby Gang acting like he was more of treat, but staying silent when Damon was literally the provoker in the situation, is so annoying. Also, could just be me, but without Caroline I don't necessarily trust that any of them would have attempted to assist Tyler during his transformations and would have labeled him too "out of control" before having Damon kill him.
