there’s something inherently romantic about being so fucking familiar with an album that you can catch every minute change from a breath somewhere new to a lengthened vowel and what it all boils down to is fearless was a formative album for me and it always will be and i love revisiting it in such a wonderful way

I’m overwhelmed with the emotion that this album has brought to me. 13 years ago I was a struggling, closeted 15 year old in a small, rural town. Fearless got me through the darkest of times in my life.
Since then, I have come out of the closet, gotten my Bachelor’s degree, worked on film sets in LA, created my own films, started grad school, and have learned to love myself.
As I lay here in bed, listening to Taylor’s Version just the same as I used to 13 years ago, the reality of how far I’ve come is astounding.
I’ve said this thousands of times and I’ll say it thousands more,
Thank you, Taylor.

fearless was an album full of magic and curiosity, the bliss and devastation of youth, it was the diary of the adventures and explorations of a teenage girl who was learning tiny lessons with every new crack in the facade of the fairytale ending she’d been shown in the movies.
sincerely and fearlessly, taylor. (insp in replies)

the way to the casual listener the songs sound nearly exactly the same but to us we can tell just the tiny differences in her inflection and her vocal strength and get to relearn these songs like we learned the old ones

Picking up a pen was my way of escaping into fantasy, history, and memory. I’ve told these stories to the best of my ability with all the love, wonder, and whimsy they deserve. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAYLOR!

“In my current situation – my material comfort, the certainty of being in work, my social status – I cannot accept silence, and if it is necessary that it sticks to me all my life, if my cinema career must end after that, so be it. My militant commitment is to take on this position, to say ‘Voilà, I lived through that’, and it’s not because one is a victim that they should carry shame, that they should accept the impunity of the torturers.”

“I just think that most of the time directors don’t know what they talk about when they talk about sex. They’re just like (imitating a male grunting voice) ‘uhhh let’s do like- uhh…’ They don’t know.” (x)
