Whenever you first start using a social media platform, it's important to figure out how it all works before crafting up your marketing strategy. A lot of social media platforms are using hashtags, but what are hashtags used for? Well let's focus on one place at a time. What are hashtags used for Instagram? I break it up into 2 parts.
Categorizing your photos, and categorizing your account. By categorizing your actual account you can find REAL genuine followers.
Soooo. Today's vlog is #8. It's actually being uploaded at 12:20 am on the 9th. Wahhh, but it still counts because I said so. I'm love #veda (Vlog every day in April). What I love most about it is providing value every day. It feels GREAT!

I was asked a question, "Why would we use stories when it just disappears? How will we spread our message if it goes away? - I don't understand." Disappearing content at the moment (Instagram stories, Facebook stories, Snapchat, Messenger Day) is ALL the rage with consumers and now brands and businesses. Video at: https://youtu.be/3SINfOQv8yo First off - what really matters is your customers attention. That's where you need to be. Period. You can repurpose the stories though so I do advise if you are fretting over stories - At least repurpose them to feel better about it.

YAY. Facebook has added a new feature to the Messenger App, but wait. Can we use it for business?
Yes, and no. The thing is Messenger day is not an option for Facebook business pages, but it IS an option if you use your personal profile page for 'some' of your business. Whether that is adding clients and customers, or possibly utilizing Facebook groups for community building, and leads.
Only time will  tell if this 'Snapchat clone' will be successful, but for now jump on there and have some fun with it.

Twitter. Twitter. You have some of us pretty worried here. Or. You did for a while. Is Twitter dead?
Not quite. Twitter has always had a chronilogical algorithm which is what has made them so great with media coverage and news. BUT with that comes consequences of spam, and let's face it. Getting lost. It's hard to get noticed in such a busy environment, but they have added some tools into the algorithm that I would like to explain.
So what ways do you use to break through that BUSY Twitter world? Do you think Twitter is done for?

Facebook has done it YET again. They have added a new feature to their platform. A feature that well. Looks a lot like some other social media platforms. *cough* LinkedIn.
I feel like yesterday that *cough* was Snapchat, or Five Mile. Before you scold Facebook - think about business. This is all apart of the game. Innovation has to happen. That being said let me walk you through how to post a job on Facebook through your business page. After the Facebook job posting tutorial - I will put in my 2 cents on LinkedIn Vs. Facebook.

"I hopped on Reddit, but I'm scared to post." You are not alone here my friend. The platform can be intimidating. Reddit is the 7th largest website in the U.S. 234 million unique users a month. Listen. Using Reddit for your business marketing CAN and will work. If you go about it in the right way. FULL VIDEO on YouTube: bit.ly/redditsuccess
The key takeaways I want you to grasp about Reddit success: -Discovering your target audience's community -Building Karma through insightful comments -Following Reddiquette in each subreddit -NOT being scared -Direct Promo is frowned upon, but don't let that sway you
Reddit is known as the 'front door to the internet'. Whenever you think of something going viral, breaking news, etc. Reddit really is one of the first places it ends up. The thing is YOU and YOUR brand need to realize the potential marketing on Reddit could have. Just do the research and make it happen.

Facebook business pages continue to rapidly change and improve, but this can sometimes be a bit overwhelming. One day you get it. The next, POOF! It's a whole new thing to figure out. When uploading a video to Facebook - I've got you fam.
Video native upload to Facebook at the point in time, matters. Their current algorithm pushes video to most users news feed. This factor means your brand needs to know exactly how to navigate the video upload process - including: -Description -Tags -Captions -Scheduling -and MORE

Instagram stories are absolutely CRUSHING it. They have taken an idea/concept from (we all know) Snapchat and made it their own. With this ever-growing feature that Instagram has added is being swept up by brands. They allow high engagement with raw video, brand awareness, easier to convince your audience to commit to your call to action! So your brand is producing killer content, but, seriously? No one is watching. How to get more views on Instagram Stories? It’s easier than you think.
YOUTUBE VIDEO: bit.ly/igviews
ENGAGEMENT:
What is the point of social media for your business if you have ZERO engagement with your followers? There isn’t. Whenever you engage with your followers on Instagram they are more likely to be interested in what your brand has going on. Therefore, more views for your Instagram stories. Comment on follower’s pictures. Reply to their stories. Heck – even send them a personalized video message every now and then (Yet, another very similar feature to Snapchat, HAHA).
 POPULAR PAGE:
Another great tactic to getting more views on Instagram stories is by attempting to get your brand featured on the popular page. If you are featured on the popular section of someone’s Instagram they could view your story, and you could even gain a new follower! Some methods to try and get featured:
1. Always keep a story up (with many parts)
2. Keep you Instagram profile active (posting 1-3 times daily)
3. Use Instagram’s added features on your Instagram stories
             -Text
             -Drawing Tools
             -Stickers (Especially, Geotagging)
 KEEP A STORY UP
If you have a story up at all times, you will ALL of your followers when they log on. If you are notorious for only having a story up Monday – Friday, you are forgetting about all of your followers who may just log on to Instagram during the weekend.
 TAG PEOPLE/BRANDS
Tagging other accounts in your Instagram stories is MEGA beneficial in more ways than just getting more views. When deciding who to tag in your story think of tagging potential ‘leads’. Leads in sales, or marketing are potential clients, or customers of your product, or service that have shown interest in some way, shape, or form. By tagging others you are engaging, possibly getting their attention for future sales, and potentially allowing them to view your story; ULTIMATELY, resulting in more views on your Instagram stories.
What methods have you tried to INCREASE your Instagram stories views?

Pin this, repin that, pin, repin some more. So in the typical scenario Pinterest is used to drive traffic to a specific blog post. Drive traffic to the post, have an email capture pop-up, maybe add someone to your list. Keyword here, maybe. Blog traffic is fine and dandy. Pinterest’s usefulness for this is not going away, but there are other creative marketing techniques and ‘cards’ you can play here. All of them getting you more of what you want. LEADS and ultimately sales. VIDEO VERSION OF THIS POST: https://youtu.be/zrDS-WLXkr0 ~Email Capture~ Use the platform to send them directly to your email capture page. Have a freebie such as a free ebook, free webinar, eCourse, something FREE and enticing. Create a pin that advertises this. Say your freebie is an eBook all about Juice Cleansing. So your Pin image can either be the cover of the eBook, or something that says “Healthiest way to Start a Juice Cleanse: For Beginners”. Then they will click on the pin. The pin will send them right to your email capture page. After they submit their name and email the FREE ebook will now be emailed to them and they will officially be on your email list to continue future marketing. *Note: Now this technique can be frowned upon on Pinterest, but it still can be quite successful. Make sure if you are making them sign up for your email list you have a (pardon my french) damn good freebie. If not you will likely make the pinner irritated and they are less likely to repin your pin. ~Social Media Leads~ Are you better at generating leads on other social platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, etc? You can use Pinterest to drive your followers to these social media platforms. For example if you are a social media LinkedIn rockstar, try writing an article/blog post on LinkedIn. Create a Pinterest image and link directly back to your post on LinkedIn. Same thing with Facebook, or Google + with the blog style content. You can do this with YouTube videos as well as with Instagram. Instagram right now is a great platform to engage with customers and clients with Instagram stories. Use that to your advantage by pinning an Instagram photo and linking straight to your Instagram account. Screencast of that is shown in the video. ~Coupons~ There are two ways I suggest using coupons on Pinterest to generate leads. 1. The first is to ‘hide’ coupon codes in your Pins. What this essentially is, is a game for your clients and customers. You place some codes on your Pin descriptions. You can promote this in your store, blogging, other social platforms, etc. They go to your Pinterest account find the code and then after doing that go to your site to BUY. After there effort to find the codes it makes them more likely to finish out the sale and using it. Making them feel accomplished. 2. Number two consists of using a landing page (as mentioned above under email capture). You use the landing page to capture the email address and name. Then send them a coupon! List building at it’s finest. ~Rich Pins~ Now I won’t go too in depth about rich pins on Pinterest. That would be another whole video/post. Rich Pins are specially optimized Pins that give Pinterest users more information without leaving the Pinterest platform. Here are some examples of the Rich Pins. •Product Pins – shows price, where to buy, availability •Movie Pins – rating, cast, reviews •Recipe Pins – ingredients, serving sizes •Blog Post/Article Pins – automatic titles and automatic descriptions •App Pins – has an install button •Place Pins – shows map and phone number Each rich pin has different advantages depending on what you are trying to accomplish. They generate more leads in a two core different ways. First being when you use these rich pins they are going to do much better in the Pinterest algorithm. Pinterest is pretty proud of the integration and they want to show them off. Wouldn’t you?? Second being the user friendly-ness. People like these and they are more likely to be repinned and saved for later. More people = more leads. Have a goal. Always. It's the core drive behind all aspects of business that keep you on the path to success.
Advanced version of this copy https://youtu.be/6RJlOT4OW7k
In marketing it's all about the 'next big thing'. Who can be innovative and creative to crush it first? One of the next big tools is Instagram stories. Here are some common goals that Instagram stories can accomplish:
BRAND RECOGNITION/AWARENESS
This is the easiest goal to accomplish with Instagram stories. Just come up with stories that represent the business' brand. Whether that is the use of a product, the work you are doing, the personal touches behind it, employees, motivation, whatever it may be -- use that.
FURTHER YOUR REACH/GET MORE FOLLOWERS
To achieve this create a story that asks your viewers to do 3 things. 1. Screenshot a certain photo 2. Post it to their profile, or story 3. Tag you in it
Be sure to give an incentive from as small as 'if you do this it will make my day', or even do a giveaway.
GETTING BACK IN THE NEWS FEED
Instagram a couple of months back now made big changes to their newsfeed. The algorithm now shows the user the posts they like and comment on most. So the more engagement you get on a photo from your followers, the more likely they will continue to see your content. So to accomplish some more photo engagement -- use your Instagram stories! Ask your viewers to go and comment a specific thing. My fave to use is 'go comment your favorite emoji'.
You will be back in front of your followers in no time.
SUPER ENGAGEMENT
If you are looking to make more personal connections with your followers (meaning building more trust and furthering the relationship), ask them to reply to your story.
CALL TO ACTION/GETTING THEM OFF PLATFORM
Let's get real here. Unless, your business model is monetizing on Instagram then your end goal is to make a sale. OR at least get them off of Instagram to some other part of your sales funnel. Am I right, or am I right? Use your Instagram stories to tell your viewers about the link in your bio. Lead them to where you want them to go.
Now. Goals are great and all, but how to track the success of the Instagram stories goals?
How to measure performance on Instagram stories? Either absorb this information, or go further in depth in this video. (Advanced).

DISCLAIMER: This video could stir up some feels. Why you don't need a website in 2017 is not something a lot of people want to hear, but they need to.
DISCLAIMER 2: I'm not saying this method is for everyone. If you have some disagreements about whether you need a website, or whether you don't need a website -- let me know. It is open for discussion.
Now onto the good stuff. The internet has come a long way in a short period of time. In the beginning, it was rare for any business to need a website. Then came corporations and big companies that decided they were in need of websites. Now, every small business, entrepreneurs, solopreneurs, and their dogs believe they need a website to survive online. Well let me break it to you. In 2017 -- this is beginning to change. There are officially many alternatives to having a website in 2017. The big doozy here: Social Media.
Social media is taking over the internet, and they are trying hard to keep you on their platforms. They are beginning to look more and more like websites, blogs, and hubs for businesses.
You DON'T need a website in 2017 to be successful, or to build your online presence. At least not in the beginning.
Like I mentioned up there: Please let me know your thoughts on this! I'd love to hear them and discuss opinions.
