Good omens 2 spoilers frrrrr-

Right so I don’t believe the coffee theory at all, I think the theory is just a bandage to lessen the blow of the idea of Aziraphale choosing heaven over Crowley-

My interpretation of it all isn’t even Aziraphale choosing heaven over crowley since that seems much more black and white than wut it is tbh- like I think Aziraphale genuinely believes that he can do so much good for people if he’s in charge, not just for humanity but everyone. No wars, angels can be more free, humans are protected.

Because after the whole season being littered with him wanting to make people happy, to be a good person, to lessen pain. Like it’s a no brainer. Especially with the flashbacks, particularly the 7 year old boy with the tumor. The absolute anguish he felt over something like that makes it all too clear the kind of empathy he has.

Now with Crowley, I think in his mind, choosing to indulge in his desires to spend his life with Crowley and running away from the corruption of heaven, and therefore, the real problems that could happen, would just make him feel guilty for being “selfish” in his want to be with Crowley whilst ignoring the pain others are going through. Cause let’s be serious, if someone gave you the option to either let yourself be happy, but at the cost of letting others go through tragedies you went through or witnessed, you’d probably choose the more morally correct option, which is not letting yourself indulge in your wants in favor of helping everyone else.

He’s pure hearted, and also naive. He’s definitely being manipulated but in his heart he believes that he’s making the right choice by fixing heaven. And he definitely has some issues to work through, especially with needing to accept Crowley for what he is, which will never be him being an angel. And to accept that he’s in love with a demon, and that doesn’t make either of them more good or evil.
