#i hate it i hate it i hate it#and i hate that i have to do it too#because i simply don't want to find myself in situations where people are yelling at me for no reason. i don't have the mental energy.#unfortunately the modern internet has introduced such an overwhelming amount of social feedback that we simply aren't built to process#so if you EVER made anything that's gotten eyeballs on it someone is going to get upset#either by disagreeing with you or by misunderstanding you. and will yell at you for it#and unfortunately it gets worse the more people you're exposed to too.#so it's best to try your hardest to cover all your bases from the start.#this is also partially why youtubers are more and more sanitized.#yes it's partially advertising benefits. but it is also largely just trying to do your best to avoid a comments section flaming you#because if you lived your life in such a manner where like#a hundred people yell at you that you're shit and an awful person and to kys completely unprompted ON THE DAILY#you would simply become ungodly miserable.#it's like how in this site nobody wants to get posts with a large amount of notes to avoid angry anons and bad rbs. same thing.#social media is good in the sense that i got to make internet friends and know a handful of mutuals i can share jokes and interests with#but the moment it stopped being about just a small circle of people and more about connecting to The Wider World (thank you algorithm!)#is when it all went bad.#kanamorithereisnothingfunaboutsocialmedia.png
