“Not really. She’s just doing her own thing I guess you can say.” Truth was Ace had no clue where Racey was, or what she was doing, but she wasn’t going to just go around telling everyone. Last thing she needed was to tell the wrong person. “None of them I really like. They are all stupid.” She said shrugging and hanging her head. “Junior… I have one more year.” She shrugged again as her head stayed low. “I don’t know, I just really hate it. It’s boring.” Ace looked up and chuckled, “Yeah one day off won’t hurt me too bad. You wanna go do something?” A smirk rising on her face. She didn’t wanna go to school and this might be her way out.
“I guess people have to do that, can’t follow others around forever. You’re pretty grown up anyways, right?” Grey shrugged it off, it didn’t seem weird to her that Racey wasn’t here forcing Ace to go to school, her parents never did that to her, though, Grey’s parents also never had a reason to believe she wasn’t going to end up at school when she left the house in the morning. “Well, only one more year to take the boring classes, then you can take the fun ones at college.” she tried to sound encouraging, though something told her Ace wasn’t exactly the college type, she seemed more like the kids in high school Grey knew who went on gap year trips and then never came home because they were too busy living their lives. “Sure,” she shrugged again, willing to let anyone or anything fill her time at this point. “Got any ideas?”

Cleo had been going all around town getting to know places when she had happened unto a cafe. From the outside it looked cozy and home-like, and on the inside it smelled like freshly baked muffins and coffee. People had warned the blonde that she should never drink coffee, but at that moment she didn’t care. She ordered large Mocha Latte before smiling and handing the cashier her MasterCard. It was so easy here, and that alone surprised Cleo. In starbucks you had to make so many different choices.
After getting her coffee, Cleo started looking around; The place was packed and there seemed to be no free places around, except that one. But there was an iPad there? Cleo leaned over and looked at the text there. It was a book, that was very hipster - And then she was interrupted by someone. The blonde swirled around, almost pouring her coffee on herself before catching herself, shaking her hand sot he spilled coffee would not burn as much. “Oh hi! Yeah, I was looking for a spot I was. Is this your place? I noticed you’re reading something, what is it?” She chirped, her smile going from ear to ear as she placed the cup of coffee on the wooden table. She straightened her dress before plopping down on the opposite side of the pretty girl.
“Thanks for the spot. I was afraid I had to sit next to someone uncomfortable.” Cleo grimaced before breaking into a giggle. “Sorry, I talk a lot. I get that a lot in this town, no one is used to someone talking a lot.” She leaned to the table with her elbows, taking a sip from her coffee before making a face, muttering ‘hot hot hot’ under her breath.
Grey smiled as the girl turned around to look at her, it almost seemed as though she’d startled her. “Oh,” she looked down at her iPad for a moment as her mind went blank for some reason on the book she had just been reading all morning. “It’s this book called Dirty Rush, I guess it’s like mostly a true story about this girl’s experience with a sorority. It’s pretty crazy, but yeah I saw a bunch of my friends posting it on Facebook so I bought it.” She nodded a few times as she sat down and took a few sips of her drink.
As she got comfortable again in her seat, Grey really just wanted to go back to her book, but now that she was actually sitting across from this girl it felt rude to just ignore her. Maybe she hadn’t completely thought through this idea to invite the stranger to sit down. “No it’s fine, I know this place gets busy.” she nodded as she brushed her hair behind her ear and looked down at her iPad for a second, unlocking it again and trying to read a sentence before looking back up. “So, uh, I’m Grey.” she introduced herself with a small smile as the girl across from her began to drink her own coffee.

Ace grinned and nodded, “Yeah, it is. She actually has followed me to school before in her car like she was tailing me or something.” She chuckled and bit her bottom lip. “Not really. It’s boring.” She was at least being honest. She hated going to school. The chemistry teacher had no clue what she was doing, and Ace was constantly sent out of the room for knowing too much.
It wasn’t like it was her fault though, when she was around Nero she tended to enjoy his company and learning from him which meant a lot of time spent in his lab. It was the most she had learned in a long time, besides picking up on Russian thanks to hearing Ty and Racey go on and on in their native tongue. People just never seemed to care or realize that Ace wasn’t just street smart, she was pretty smart period. Books or the streets, she just prefered to show her bad ass side a lot more.
“I don’t see her here now, guessing she trusts you now or whatever?” Grey laughed a little and shook her head. “Maybe you should take harder classes then, or at least ones you like. Then you won’t be so bored.” she shrugged and crossed her arms over her chest just to do something with them. “What year are you anyways? You’ll go to college soon no matter what, it’s so much easier than high school, like to get to. You don’t even have to take a bunch of classes if you don’t wanna. I know most of my friends like college way more than high school. But you’re not gonna get there with poopy high school grades,” Grey added with a little laugh. “Guess one day off won’t kill the grades though, hell I’m sure school in a small town like this isn’t hard anyways. You’re smart, you’d probably be fine if you just went in for tests.”

Grey was trying to find new ways to fill up her time since she got back to Haven Hallow though she hadn’t exactly been successful. Other than getting paid a few extra hours to help the two kids she babysits by her apartment carve pumpkins. She loved that nothing about her job ever felt like work, unless she was changing diapers which was lucky not too often since there was only one baby on her list of children she took care of and his mom was still taking so many days off work to take care of him herself.
What she had found out though, was that The Grind was finally selling Pumpkin Spice Lattes and they were somehow better than the ones she used to get at her usual coffee fix stop in California. Which meant that her attempt to fill up her time had just resulted in her sitting at The Grind and drinking more Pumpkin Spices than she probably should. But she’d also been reading books, which she thought wasn’t a complete waste of time. Today had been just like any other, after her first drink Grey had gotten up and ordered her second. As she walked back to the table she had her ipad sitting on she noticed someone else standing next to it. “Did you want to sit down?” she asked, thinking the person may have possibly been looking for a seat since there weren’t any completely empty tables at this time of day. “I mean, I’m not leaving but that chair is totally open if you want it. I’m just reading.” she admitted, taking a drink of her coffee and offering a warm smile.

She can imagine wanting to get away from people that cared, but it was also nice having people that cared. Ace smirked at Grey and nodded, “Yeah.. like school. Don’t tell me you consider it important?”
“Well I’m not gonna say it’s not important. But I’m also not gonna force you to go, that seems more like your mom’s job than mine.” Grey shrugged a little bit. She always liked school, at the the actual school part, it was the freetime and lunch periods she hated. School was a nice distraction, it’s the reason she always took as many classes as she could throughout high school and college. “Were you planning on not going?”

Felicia realized she should’ve have just grabbed the girl’s face yet she couldn’t help but giggle. She knew her touch emitted energy into her but she removed her hand, a mischievous look on her face. Felicia couldn’t help herself but find it amusing how the girl recoiled back, she figured it was the lack of compassion. “I love raspberries, no wonder you smell so sweet.” She grinned and laughed softly. “Ever so sorry, darling. I was just so worried. Pretty girls potentially bleeding from their mouths concern me, I hope you understand.”
Grey slid both her hands behind her back and clenched her fist as she tried to keep her composure in front of this what she assumed to be demon. She wouldn’t have known what the other woman was had her dad not forced her to read all the things he had found when first researching Haven Hollow. Something about the way her words came out made Grey even more uncomfortable, like despite her efforts the stranger could see right through her. “Of course, I figure anyone bleeding is at the very least slightly concerning to the average person.” she responded as she tried to come up with some excuse to end the conversation there without seeming rude.

Ace scoffed and rolled her eyes, “You know that should be illegal but then again I would probably still break that law too.” She dragged her tongue across her teeth and grinned but she shrugged and nodded, “yeah, I can understand that. It is a lot to take in around here.” Ace shrugged and shook her head twisting the toe of her shoe into the ground, “Nothing much just causing trouble, and getting over some things.” Ace scoffed and her eyes narrowed as she looked at Grey, “No where important.”
“I think I just appreciate the fact that no one really cares about me in LA...I mean, the people just walking around. It’s just kinda like, no one cares about anyone else. Except they’d all hate me if I was standing in the middle of the sidewalk texting,” Grey added with a slight laugh. But it was true, part of her missed being invisible and even though she’d done a decent job of doing so in Haven Hollow it wasn’t the same. The older girl glanced down at her phone again and noticed the time before letting out another laugh and looking up at Ace. “No where important like school?”

Grey froze for a moment before jumping back quickly as the blonde grabbed her chin, at first she wasn’t sure what to do before actually realizing the woman had her hands on her. A gasp escaped her lips as thoughts that were not her own entered Grey’s mind, and it was clear to her that this was one of the people..or things, that had made her come to Haven Hollow and simultaneously scared her off back to California. Trying not to look as startled as she felt, the brunette reached up again to wipe her mouth as she mumbled, “Raspberries...I-I just ate a bunch.”
