Review:
When Nina dies in his arms, Nester does what any rational person would do when the love of his life dies. He runs. Nine years later, when the ranch is overun by war, Nester must come back to help his family and convince a old friend not to fight. Imagen his surprise when he finds Nina is very much alive and well, but also very much pissed at him. Can they find a way to come back together?
First off, not to sound like my AP english teacher but the diction in this book? AMAZING. I really felt transported to 1800's western Texas.
Nester is the perfect example of "If he wanted too, he would" He is the perfect example of the perfect boyfriend and really goes above and beyond.
While we are on characterization, I LOVE Nina. She is such a strong female character that I really enjoyed reading about. She is now one of my favorite and is on my list of women I want to be growing up.

NOTHING puts me off wanting to read a book like first experiencing it by the author making videos about it. If I hear about a book because I saw a video of an author making a meme about their book, I simply will not read it, out of annoyance. I hate that this has become a major strategy for publishing houses. I don't want to see the author's face anywhere except maybe the back of the book jacket. Stop making authors do marketing. Put them back at their desks and let them get on with sequels.

the thing that sucks is that people love saying sleep early is good etc etc and yeah it is. I've seen some benefits before. but I think it sucks to ignore that late night is the only time with any freedom. I think it sucks to not acknowledge the dread in waking up and it's a work day again
