I was rereading some of the early chapters of the fma manga and I find it kinda funny how the youswell scene plays out like this in the 2003 anime

loool yea I get that, s3 kinda rendered it as an AU as well I guess, so I figured that was probably un-motivating too, but yeah like I said even though it feels weird I personally like playing around even with ideas that are that far away from the canon :D so if you end up writing more I’m sure me and a bunch of other people will still enjoy reading it (and in my case sketching out random scenes)
Well shoot, here I am trying not to ship Ezran and Aanya just yet since I want to see actual interactions despite the likeliness of Ezran and Aanya getting along famously but between your cute art work and a excerpt from the fic, I'm failing. I really do love the potential of Ezran x Aanya.
Haha yeah, well they haven’t interacted in actual series, but it’s a fun concept to explore, I think we all feel a little weird about it (like I think @jellyjay mentioned that in the fic notes as well) but eh, whatever - there’s potential there even if it has no canon basis
Tbh I enjoy playing with characters to that extent. I mean I draw so much timeskip-ish stuff because it’s fun to swing away from the canon that far - do redesigns, imagine what will happen in time which probably won’t be covered in the series itself etc.
#for me it's actually not the first time I get invested into concept that swung away from the original a lot#I did that with eureka seven ao#I was drawing shitload of timeskip AU stuff in /a/ threads and posting on tumblr as well and honestly playing around with that was fun af#especially with all the people who also got into it#although with e7ao I think we just wanted AU because the series itself turned pretty crappy lol#for me it was great ride though - ended up actually making a 50 pages fanbook and printing it for these folks who were with me on it

She picks the end off a jelly tart. Pops it neatly into her mouth and hums at the taste, and Ez makes a face.
“Just bite into it like a normal person?” he says, a little incredulously.
“That’s not exactly proper.”
“Proper?” Ez snorts loudly, just to make a point. “The only proper way to eat a jelly tart is to stuff the whole thing in your mouth. That’s what it’s for.”
“Oh?” Aanya’s eyes glint mischievously at him, a challenge in her smile. “Care to demonstrate, Your Majesty?”
“ Gladly, ” says Ez, seizing one from the plate between them and shoving it whole into his mouth. The jam fills the inside of his cheeks and he almost chokes on the pastry, but Aanya hides her laughter in her hands and he decides that it’s totally worth it. “‘Ow many of thefe d’you fink I could fi’ in here?”
“That’s disgusting,” giggles Aanya. “Please don’t try.”
