okok you know that post abt ships where 1 guy is gay but doesn't realize he's in love with his best friend and the other knows he's in love with his best friend but doesn't know he's gay? that's stiles and scott for you right there 🫡
okay TRUE but i feel like it depends on his mental state. “classic” angels bring him comfort when his brain starts acting up, while biblically accurate angels remind him of God’s omnipotence when he doubts Him. and also theyre way more interesting yes
Athelstan would be ALL OVER biblically accurate angels. Grits his teeth any time an "angel" is depicted or described as anything but a giant glowing wheel covered in feathers. Obsessively sketches circles of eyes in his notebooks.
taking a medieval manuscripts class and discussing the lindisfarne gospels in depth all while thinking they don't even know my best friend athelstan did these
Those characters in stories that are the beloved. The ones who are good and pure amidst the horrors of tragedy and stay kind and soft despite of it all. Those characters the others cling to, for comfort and hope and warmth. Those who even during conflicts and wars are cherished by all. Those characters that when they are gone, because they are always taken away too son, are missed dearly to the end, and those who stay crumble.
I think it would have been hilarious if instead of hating Athelstan, Floki went out of his way to befriend because someone had to teach him how to be Ragnar's Best Friend 2.0.
