Another fantastic poll to follow!
Hello, and welcome to the poll/tournament where we celebrate fictional women who have something severely wrong with them (complimentary)!
Submissions are open until end of April.
Submission form can be found here. If this form isnât working for you or you canât access it, then send the character name, where sheâs from, and any relevant character information via this blogâs submissions button.
RULES!!
PLEASE do not submit real people. This includes versions of historical figures seen in biopics or similar works. Other than that, female characters from any medium are welcome!
âMessyâ is a subjective term, but in this case, it mainly means âfemale characters with flaws and/or major psychological issues that are generally considered to be unacceptable.â This can range from âis abrasive and selfishâ or âwidely seen as âhystericalâ/âcrazyââ to much more morally thorny like âis a murderer/war criminalâ. (Basically, if her behavior would get her labelled by fandom at large as âIrredeemableâ˘â she probably belongs here.) The more unpopular/disliked the female character, the better.
Submitted characters donât necessarily have to be morally-grey to outright-villainous (see above), but it is highly encouraged.
Cersei Lannister from Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire and Himeno from Chainsaw Man will automatically be included because I love them, and also because they were the ones who inspired me to make this poll in the first place.
No fictional crime is too great to potentially disqualify a character/prevent her inclusion. No, not even that one.
Submit as many characters as you want, but I ask that you donât submit the same character over and over. One submission per character.
Submissions to determine who will be included in this tournament will be ultimately vetted by me. As mentioned above, âmessyâ is an incredibly subjective term, but ultimately if a character is not deemed to be sufficient levels of fucked-up, I wonât include her here.
Major inspiration from @goodoldfashionedmurderboyâs Number One Murdergirl polls.

Congratulations to Lady Macbeth for being voted tumblr's official number one murdergirl!
The competition was tough but at the end of the day you simply can't outdo the do-er!

THE GRAND FINAL:
GLaDOS (Portal) vs Lady Macbeth (Macbeth)
THE QUEST FOR THE ULTIMATE MURDERGIRL
What is a murdergirl?
A murdergirl is a character who:
Is female
Either commits murder, commits attempted murder, or directly or indirectly causes a significant amount of otherwise avoidable death, e.g. by starting a war, or knowingly allowing a preventable disaster to happen
The fandom for the piece of media they're from absolutely does not know how to be normal about them. ("[x character] did nothing wrong" vs "[x character] is the literal devil" type arguments, for one example)
(with the murdergirls I also think the girlbossification of their actions is also a common element, such as replying to someone listing the character's crimes with "good for her <3" or "god forbid a woman do anything đ¤". that's just a personal observation rather than a requirement though)
So what are we doing here?
Simple, silly! Having found tumblr's official Ultimate Murderboy (congrats again Guillermo), we're now running a tournament to find tumblr's ultimate murdergirl!
(Before you attack me for you your fave not making the list: the list was originally nearly 50 before I narrowed it down to the required 32. Turns out tumblr is absolutely full to bursting with female characters who kill people who no-one in their fandom is normal about. It was very very hard but I did my best to represent as wide a scope of media as possible while still making sure people who absolutely HAD to be there were there. Here's a link to the The Best Of The Rest poll, to see some of the murdergirls who ONLY JUST didn't make the cut.)
Just for fun:
