white roses in the snow
never let me go.
lying in your bed and moving slow,
taking off our clothes,
giving you it all.
all I need is you and me alone.
love is like a rose.
baby, let it grow.
no one knows the secrets
that you know.
como on, pull me close,
lay me in the snow.
I know you can feel it.

I didn't know that Karen Carpenter and Ella Fitzgerald sang love songs into each others eyes this one time and it's the best thing I've ever heard but also ever seen. It is the start of a film where Karen Carpenter is unsure of her sexuality and has come to a lesbian bar for the first time in her pretty new suit, and maybe she was all nervous and worried, but Ella took one look at her and drew her into song, and love, and promised to teach her things.
(Obviously watch it from the start, the whole thing is a healing perfection, but I started it at the best bit because a few seconds in Ella whispers 'so pretty' to Karen, because she's overcome with love, and to be fair Karen copes with that a lot better than most women would. Ella then sings like singing is breathing and you get to see Karen's entire body smiling.)
