I dreamed last night that I was in Terraria in real life and was spending like a week stressing out because I, as a player with supernatural knowledge of the world, knew there was soon going to be an update that added a new hostile mob which was a carnivorous deer that could spawn at night anywhere that wasn't bright enough, and it would always beeline for the nearest NPC to break into their house and kill them. And I was working so desperately to make sure my villages were all lit enough so that my NPCs wouldn't be eaten. By deer.

I keep wanting to try and draw my personal Noxus design because the way I envision it seems really neat...the problem is that where I am decent-good at animalistic designs and just kind of bad at humans, I am entirely unpracticed with characters that have more...abstract body shapes. Especially ones like Xeroc and Noxus that are especially difficult to translate into a more three-dimensional form. Perhaps one day I'll make an actual effort to get it down.

Oh man, I hope there's a Calamitober this year. I'd love to subject you all to a month of my bullshit.

So I've been playing with my old WoW buddy Zackman lately, introducing him to the ins and outs of Terraria...modded style! It's been a great time getting to show a longtime friend one of my favorite games and all the things I love about my favorite mod. We've been steadily pushing through to the end of pre-Hardmode as time has allowed and he's been having fun and doing great. <3 (Took me three sessions to remember to get a picture of us.)

Thinkin' about...dryads... The oldest of Silva's children were trees, more or less. Sapient, but barely animate. Powerful, too--perhaps too much so. They were where many of the first new villages formed in the dawn of the Deific Era, in the settling chaos after such great upheaval: where shelter, and magic, and blessing abounded. Silva did not mind, but she could do better. The next attempts varied wildly in form. Some still took the form of flora, but ambulatory, capable of speech--even if it was in words only their goddess could understand. Some, more animalistic: beasts with bark hide and grassy fur, antlers of thorns sharp upon their brows. Still more took forms similar to Silva's own, and many lived as lords among the mortals who plied for the life goddess's favor. All served their purpose of safeguarding the wild places of the world admirably. But even long, long before the Tyrant and his Crusade, unrest was sown. The gods, having staked out their territories in the centuries after the dragons fell, turned their eyes upon each other with the same greed that had won them their gifts to begin with. And so Silva made the last dryad cultivar: creatures whose woody skin could look and feel like mortal flesh, who could walk among the peoples of Terraria as one of them and see and understand all they saw. They were her eyes in the farthest fields, watching the delicate balance of power and loss of life that came with its upset and relaying it all to their goddess, on the chance that she might be required to intervene before Terraria found itself on the brink of destruction once again. For where life is, there goes its goddess. And the First Godslayer will control her domain.

I've been asked if I take commissions before and had to turn them down as I don't have the means to take digital payments at this time. But, thinking about it a bit more...I may not have that, but I do have a Steam wishlist...

It is absolutely fucking insane to me to hear that I have created something that people think and talk about independently of me needing to bring it up first. Absolutely nuts.

top five most important things you can give a character. 1. bisexuality. 2. autism. 3. so much negative rizz it loops around into irresistibility. 4. so many bad events. 5. a coping mechanism that’s cute and silly provided you don’t think about it too hard

hi so i was thinking. how would a swap au work for snowballing/bridges? that being swapping yharim + kenny and anita.
given that we are in the middle of a conflict driven by kenny's diverging views on not killing everything vs anita's willingness to 'deal with things' head-on, there has got to be a lot of similar circumstances between these two and the hypothetical godseekers.
i kinda feel like godseeker anita would lean more to yharim's canonical apathy, and godseeker kenny to his depression.
and maybe i do want younger yharim pov ahaha.
Oh man, that is REALLY interesting to think about: Kenny and Anita as the Godseekers and Yharim as the hotshot up-and-coming hero there to deal with their messes. Kenny would absolutely be the one moping on the Aerie and too sad to go out and try to make things right. Why bother? It never worked before. No one listens to him, no one likes him, no one trusts him, blah blah blah... Anita, meanwhile, I feel, would still actively be on the warpath. Only way out is through, after all. Lends a bit of urgency to the whole situation when the war is still happening around you, and might come down on your head at any moment, hm? And, man, how different would this world look? Anita and Kenny have never needed an empire, or an army. Perhaps they still would have employed Permafrost for his expertise, but would they have recruited Draedon? Calamitas? I think there'd be something fun if the destruction, in the end, looked more or less the same even if some of the pieces weren't even on the board in this version of the tale. And what if Yharim's backstory remained similar, even if the cause was different? The gods are falling in droves; they need the power of rebirth on their side. And Yharim is still Yharim. He still refuses. And in the end he finds himself a wild card--at odds with the surviving gods but a target to the Godseekers as well, forced to face both sides with only a ragged band of eccentric townsfolk as his allies. And what of Yharon? Where is his place in all of this? I am quite enjoying imagining that he still can't escape his fate, even here: he dies by Kenny's hands and Yharim, again, must soldier on without him. And Kenny is changed irrevocably by the act, as it always must be. Many, many things to think about... (But, God, a young Yharim POV would be so much fun to think about. You know that child was born going at Mach 5 and didn't stop until he slammed facefirst into the looming wall of his own mistakes.)

Getting to use the phrase, "His boyfriend got isekaied to Mr. Noxus's Wild Ride." was quite fun. Maybe I'll be silly and just refer to the Distortion as that from now on.
