I think my approach to learning is maturing. I find that I care most about application material in new examples, because I want to be responsible for applying my knowledge in new situations as a physician or health care professional. 😸🤘🏽

Right now I feel off balance. I'm anxious about hypothetical futures. I feel inadequate in my performance at work currently and in college (looking back). I do not enjoy the feeling of waking up like I did when I was a kid. What I want is to know that everyday I'm getting a lot done. That I'm strong. That I don't rush or feel rushed. That I plan my schedule. That I'm connected. And that I'm not inadequate. So here's to exercising everyday in an effort to regulate my cortisol better, have a healthier outlook, and feel disciplined.

Is healthcare a business in our country?
Author, Dr. Rosenthal, discusses the shift to business values and profits in health care with host of Letters and Politics, Mitch Jeserich. I’m interested in her views because I’ve also noticed that the costs of medical services feel ethically confusing. Applying a cost to patient care is weird to me and it’s complicated. Imagine saving a life and at the same time bankrupting a family..

Robert Sapolsky's book examining the stress response is full of humor and easy to read. It is an ideal introduction to stress responses and chronic stress as it relates to disease in humans.
