I don’t think most people realize that they’re in survival mode all the time. Like my dad can’t sit still for a second. The minute he gets home he’s mowing the lawn or washing dishes, always thinking about what to do next.
My sister is constantly working and worrying about money. She makes everyone feel bad for not working as much as her. And my mom can’t handle stress at all she starts yelling at the whole world whenever she has a deadline.
It’s no wonder my nervous system is so dysregulated :(

I don’t know what it is about my childhood home but spending anytime here makes me want to curl up into a ball and do nothing
#I was staying at my sister’s in nyc for 3 weeks and I was washing dishes and cleaning up after myself all the time#and I get here and I don’t even want to wash the one cup I used for something#and everything feels 20x harder and like my body is just dying#I reached out to this peer respite center and they said I could come in but I don’t drive and I live over an hour from the center#public transit would take hours :(#personal

When I talk about identifying as a lesbian after dating a man with straight or bi women I feel like they think I’m identifying as a lesbian bc I just hate men or I had one bad experience with men.
But I hated men before I dated one loll, there’s such a big difference between hating men as a bi or straight woman bc you’ve experienced misogyny or SA / harassment and not being attracted to men.
And I have both! Because so many straight and bi women shared my experience of not really being impressed by men and I saw lots of bi women who distanced themselves from their attraction to men bc their queerness gets invalidated when they talk about men.
And so thought I was experiencing the same thing until I dated a man and kind of had to convince myself to be attracted to him and to be in a relationship with him. “Oh I’m emotionally attracted to him, he’s nice” when he ended up not being nice at all and being really manipulative loll.
