Glatter-Media December 2014 update
Greetings One and All!
I hope you had a blessed Christmas and are making plans for an exciting New Year!
How was your holidays this year? Mine was an incredible heart-warming blast of a time:)
To begin, I wanted to encourage you to get fit with one of my favorite fitness trainers in Michigan. Namely Erica Amato at Anytime Fitness in Warren, Michigan. I have known model/fitness trainer Erica for a while and she is great at what she does. I believe in her work as a trainer so much that I even  produced a video for her and you can see it by viewing the link below: Fitness Trainer Erica Amato PBA: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPB2TbMlcpQ ... Second, I began taking Saber/Fencing lessons a few months ago and wanted to pass on some information about where I train at: Salle d'Etroit, LLC www.salledetroit.com 734-432-4015 36745 Amrhein Road Livonia, MI 48150 ... Third, I am also happy to announce that I have become a certified English Tutor through the non-profit Washtenaw Literacy Association! If you would like to find out more about Washtenaw Literacy or send a contribution to encourage the great work that they do then please take note of the information provided below: http://washtenawliteracy.org/index.php/get-involved.html Washtenaw Literacy 5577 Whittaker Road Ypsilanti, MI 48197 Phone: (734) 879-1320 Fax: (734) 879-1319 [email protected] I am also open to tutoring students in English on a donation-based of $15 per hour or whatever they can afford. Please see the flyer enclosed in this email. ... Forth, I will be performing with Nightfire Dance Troupe dancer Irena Nagler on Sunday, January 11 at 11:00 am. I will also be hosting a Drum and Dance Jam on January 3rd at 7:30 pm as well as a Spiritual Flim Night get-together on Saturday, January 17th at 8:00 pm. This month's film is called "Citizen King" and will feature footage and questions about the movie clips from the last 5 years of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s life in the USA. Both events will be hold at Interfaith Center for Spiritual Growth, 704 Airport Blvd., Ann Arbor, MI. 48106. For more information go to (734) 327-0270 A video from the last performance I did with storyteller Jill Halpern can be seen by clicking on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0zSFKX3DFI ...
Fifth, since I had a chance to meet Kurt's R2D2 two times in the past 5 years and I did speak to R2 in person, I wanted to pass along his information to YOU all as well. When I saw Kurt's R2 I was surprised at the accuracy and quality of his droid. In 2010, I even had a chance to digitally record R2's voice and sample it into my Innovatronica2010 workshop. In 2014, I met Kurt's R2d2 again and let R2 play some found objects at the table of my Multiplexica2014 workshop. At the moment, Kurt's R2D2 is in the Star Wars Insider Magazine for January, page 76, along with an article Kurt wrote. If you get the Insider, go and check it out! I was also told that Kurt's R2 will also be a featured guest at a local Michigan Theater on December 18th, 2015 for the premiere of the new STAR WARS. Most likely I will be there on Dec. 18th Opening Day! For more information go to: https://www.facebook.com/KurtsR2d2 ...
To close, I will be continuing to host the Drum and Dance Jam and Spiritual Film Night at Interfaith. In about 50 days I will be heading out west to perform with Nathan Hubbard and DJ Tenshun from LA down to TJ. Most likely in February the release for DETROIT 2020 from Found Object Orchestra Internationale will occur and in May or June I will be doing some interviews for local PBS stations. In July, I plan to perform at the Detroit Maker Faire instead of hosting a booth in 2015.
Stay Calm. Have Fun. Drop Out and Tune In!
All the best and more news to come in the next January New Years Update. I hope to see you all again in 2015 and really hope you can make it out to any or ALL of the performances I have slated for 2015:)
All the best wishes for great week and a grand year ahead and Thank You again for being part of the Glatter-Media newsletter!
Signed,
CG

2014 Spiritual Cinema Night in November!
Greetings to one and all!
My name is Curtis Glatter and I will be your host for the November and December Spiritual Cinema Night at Interfaith Center For Spiritual Growth in Ann Arbor this upcoming Saturday, November 15th at 8:00 pm.  Doors open at 7:30 pm and please feel free to bring snacks for yourself or to pass around:)
There are a number of movies to be explored in the Spiritual Cinema genre and I will do my best to offer questions and conversations about the content and spirituality of each film that is shown on Spiritual Cinema Night.
This month's film is entitled "Dancer In The Dark" which had won half-a-dozen awards when it came out. November is also the birth month of the lead actress BJORK!
Thank you so much to Andy for allowing me to host this very special event and Thank you also to Interfaith for keeping the Spiritual Growth alive and well in Michigan!
I hope to see you there!
Very Sincerely-CG

AUGUST 28, 2014: Music for River And Dream
Thursday, August 28th at 7:00 PM. Curtis Glatter's "Ode To Agua" will be performed at RIVER AND DREAM with Nightfire Dance Theater.
Dancer Irena Nagler announced:" We're having our annual "River and Dream" on August 28, weather permitting. It's a structured improvisation in the water. Arrive at 7 to learn the structure, or if you want to give a short water-related performance of music, story, poetry or dance before people get in the water... Arrive 7:30 to watch (the witnesses are part of it, too, very much so)... Into the river by 8-ish. It's a fun and powerful experience!...Island Park, 1450 Island Drive, Ann Arbor- at the area with the bench that the parks dept. calls a boat landing. We still could do this in light rain that's not part of a thunder/lightning storm (without music, probably). Children who participate must be accompanied by an adult. Recommend water shoes, though some do fine without. This is free, but donations are accepted."
