Tourism in Saudi Arabia

The country of Saudi Arabia is a developing country. It is the second biggest tourist destination in the Middle East with over 16 million visiting in 2017. Most of tourists travel to Saudi Arabia for religious reasons but the leisure tourism is currently growing at a fast rate compared to its history.
It has many sites to offer besides the Two Holy Mosques “الحرمين الشريفين” including many ancient ruins such as Thee Ain in the city of Al Baha

Thee Ain is a 600 year old village. It is reportedly one of the top destinations for tourists in the country of Saudi Arabia and many consider it a beautiful archeological site. The country has invested about 16 million Riyals in the restoration of this beautiful village.
Saudi Arabia announced it’s intention to open tourist visas for the first time ever in 2013 and started issuing tourist visas in the year 2019 for the price of $80 for visitors of 49 countries.
The country also recently started to host events and festivls in various big cities and areas which has attracted visitors and guests from around the world. They were called Seasons and each major area or city had it’s own season. Some examples are: Riyadh Season, Jeddah Season, Sharqiah Season, and more. With each season having it’s own different style of entertainment to go along with their own different tastes.
