I didn’t watch the last 2 seasons of The Originals before watching the last episode, so maybe at some point during the episodes I’ve missed there was moments that gave the audience the impression that Klaus would survive and maybe even get to live happily ever after. But personally, I feel like Klaus’ death was the only way this show would ever end.
The whole run of The Originals was about his redemption, it was about maybe fatherhood being the one thing that would make him want to be a better person. He could have failed miserably and either get punished for his sins with his death. Or we could have seen him being successful and doing the ultimate sacrifice, dying so his daughter could have a future.
We’ve watched him spend centuries torturing his family, making everyone miserable and then we got to watch the family come together to try to repair all the damage they’ve been through, and I feel like they were successful at arriving at a point in their relationship where everything was forgiven, or at least forgotten.
It’s sad that he won’t get to raise his daughter and see her become the person she’s going to become one day, but I feel like there had to be some kind of punishment for all the daughters that grew up without a father because of Klaus Mikaelson. Or all the daughters that didn’t even had the chance to grow up because he took that away from them.
There’s only so much redemption someone like Klaus can find, it doesn’t erase the years of being evil and all the lives he destroyed, at some point, he had to get what was coming. It’s a basic principle, you will pay for your mistakes, you have to face consequences for your choices. I love Klaus and he will always be one of my favorite characters, but I’ll never believe he should have gotten a happy ending.
Making sacrifices for your family was how their vampire lives started, as twisted and misguided that Esther and Mikael end up being, the feeling of wanting to keep their family safe drove them to do insane things to keep everyone alive. I like that parallel of how it end up being the same for Klaus, his vampire life started and ended as a sacrifice for family.

This ending was everything I expected and hoped, to quote Father Kieran, it was the only way it was ever going to end. It was probably more than I expected, I’ve never dreamed about Klaus and Elijah sticking together to the end. It was perfect.

How do you feel about klaroline happening on the originals? Or Caroline being on it. I know you don't want it anymore but you must have feelings
I don’t think it’s very fair of me to comment on specifics because I didn’t watch any of the episodes of this season yet and I’m not really updated on whatever happened, so for all I know, their storyline could be the best thing to ever happen on the show. Or the worst thing that ever happened. But either way, I’m not going to be that kind of person to trash something I didn’t watch.
I do plan on maybe watching when the season is done, if my friend tells me it’s great and I should watch. She wasn’t  a big fan of the last season and then she marathoned the show before this season and her opinion changed a lot. I think that sometimes you’re not in the right state of mind, or you’re being too harsh. And there’s always the shows that benefit from being watched as marathon instead of weekly.
But back to the question, I still talk way too much after all this time, sorry! It’s not a secret that I’m a huge Klamille fan and I obviously would have very much loved for them to end up together, but I’m also a big fan of good storytelling, if it makes sense and it’s interesting to watch, I’m not against it. I also know that I’m not always going to get what I want, it’s not how TV (or life) works, I can quit or learn to deal with the disappointment and enjoy things.
I was never against Klaroline, I used to be a fan back on TVD, and I wouldn’t be sad to see them having something more or just interacting again if that was something that made sense for the storyline and was respectful to both of the characters. I think that it’s not because it’s Klaus’ show that he should be the only character to benefit from an interaction, whatever happens should be respectful to Caroline’s essence and something that would be very true of her character.
Did whatever happen respected the essence of those two characters? Was it fun to watch? Did it make sense for the storyline? I don’t know, like I said, I still didn’t watch it, which at least for me means that I don’t really get to have a very strong opinion.
Whatever happened or happens, I have a lot of people I like that enjoy Klaroline a lot, so I hope it was a good experience for them and for whoever is a big fan of the couple. And for my fellow Klamille fans, we will always their great moments, even if the ending was very tragic.

Do you know where they got her dress from
I’m not sure which dress you’re talking about, but you can find a lot of TV clothes in one of those two websites:

Anon, I won’t post your ask so I don’t end up spoiling anyone, but I had a lot of emotions when my friend told me about it. I just don’t want to put myself through it, so the show ended last season for me.

Something tells me the major spoiler is klaroline endgsme which pisses me off too
It’s not that, I found a post in the tag of someone talking about it if you want to know, warning, it’s a big spoiler: here.
I don’t really have an opinion, positive or negative, about whatever is going to happen with Klaroline. It wouldn’t stop me from watching if I end up deciding that I wanted to watch, but the other spoiler really killed any chances that I might watch this last season.

I know you aren't watching TO anymore but since it is going to be their last season, have you thought about starting again?
I did think about it, but I didn’t enjoy the little I watched of the last season. Actually, the one episode I did enjoy was the last one (I only watched maybe 2 and half episodes), it would have been a very satisfactory series finale for me.
I liked that they didn’t end up dead, but also didn’t necessarily end up happy, they might have done their best at redemption, but I don’t think people like them deserve an actual happy ending where everything just ends up exactly how they want. And I like that they had to break their vow so Elijah could finally have a probably peaceful life. I enjoyed the theme that maybe peace doesn’t look exactly like they thought it would, but it still works.
I also enjoyed very much that Rebekah was finally put first, and it breaks my heart to think it won’t last and she’s going to get leave behind again for New Orleans.
My friend told me a major spoiler (the one from the writer’s board) that confirmed my desire to not want to watch this season. I’m done with the show, it was a nice ride with a terrible ending for me, so I’ll just pretend the show ended last season.

There is an “us”? It seems imagined, like secrets in the fifth grade. People with mysterious and dark lineages. It doesn’t seem as if it should be the true shape of the world. That’s a hangover from an extinct reality. Now, the Guardians of the Faithful and American soldiers still fight with tanks in the remains of Chicago. Now, Anchorage is the capital of what’s left of the United States. And the flag that flies over that city has only two stars. Now, darkness and secrets are everywhere. Now, there has to be an “us”. Because, now, there is a “them”.

The West Wing + President Kennedy (in honor of his 100th birthday)
I think that the character of Bartlet is taken from three presidents, basically: from John Kennedy, from Jimmy Carter, and from Bill Clinton. If you had to glean the very best from those administrations, from their policies, those three would be ideal. – Martin Sheen
