“Okay, well.. I will definitely try not to let you down. Though, you’re gonna be drinking as well, right?”

Lucy laughed, clapping her hands together. “I’ll keep that in mind - my expectations are going to be high now though - fair warning.”

“Not exactly.” He grinned and shook his head quickly. “I’m really not a ladies man. I flirt, but no one ever seems interested. At least so far.”

“ Do you always to do what you’re told?” she questioned. Jory chuckled at his response to her comment “ Yeah i’m really convinced.” she teased “ Don’t worry i’m just messing with you.”

Freezing at their words, Skyler’s eyes shut tight, trying to think of a way out. His body was shaking from the anxiety. “I uh.. I left the uh..” Skyler opened his eyes and looked at Q, feeling as if he was just caught with his hand in the cookie jar. “There’s a fire.. I have to go.” he lied, trying to keep his gaze from landing on them.

Q frowned at the sudden change in atmosphere, finally looking up from their phone. “ Could you repeat that, I can’t really - shit, wait. ”

He nodded at the other as a reply and watched him as he turned around and grabbed whatever he was making. “Ah, well then you’re nicer than I am. Although, I never let them actually get into trouble. I resent being called old, Bodhi.” Skyler joked, grinning at the boy.

“Two?” Bo asked, trying to figure out what the 2 things were. “Oh! Halloween and siblings?” he clarified. “Middle,” he replied, “Didn’t blame either. I fell to the background, honestly.” Bodhi gave a shrug to Skyler, turning to grab the quinoa. Once he faced the teen again, he spoke, “Age is relative. But, probably.”

Skyler couldn’t really fight Natalie on her decision to help. He really didn’t have a hand in the situation as it was, being that he was still so intoxicated from the whiskey he’d had.·“I um..” he started, before sighing.·“I mean.. sure.” The words came out in a sigh as he let himself slump back to the floor.·“But.. I think I locked the door.” His eyes were on the door nob as he racked his brain to remember what he’d done with the lock.·“I can’t..·‘member which way is lock.” A soft chuckle escaped.·“Wow, I’m _so _not sure.” The boy started to pull himself up again, getting a better grip this time as he got on his feet and tried to gauge whether or not he could make it to his door before Natalie was there.·“Wait, you’re coming here, right? Is that right?” Skyler watched as the floor moved beneath his feet.

When Nat heard Skyler’s loud grunts, her previous question was answered. The night definitely hadn’t ended too well. She quickly sat up on her bed and held her phone closer to her hands, her eyebrows knitting together as she swung her legs of the side of the bed. “Sky? You okay? Listen, I’m gonna go make you coffee in the kitchen, so you don’t gotta move, alright? But don’t hang up ‘cause, like, I can do the whole coffee thing in a flash,” she said reassuringly as she got up from her bed to drape her blanket around her shoulders and put on some slippers. “You can’t, like, pass out on me. Ooh! I’m gonna tell you the story of how one time I tried to climb the tree like a cat when I was five. Sound good?” she asked as she headed over to the kitchen to make the coffee.

Skyler laughed as he listened, grinning at the idea of having a bunch of pets to take care of. “I’d feel like a zoo-keeper. But, that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t like it. I want at least two chinchillas, though. Oh! Oh my God! That reminds me, did I tell you about the salamander you’d be adopting if you married me?” His face was lit up as he pulled out his phone and searched through his pictures for a moment before showing the screen to Natalie. “I named him Thor, because why not?”

Nat nodded in agreement with a small shrug and a smile. “You’re very right. While we’re on the subject, we need to decide how many dogs and cats we’re gonna own. I’m also open to chinchillas or sugar gliders ‘cause I heard those are rad as hell.” As Skyler talked, she also imagined him in a completely tie-dye tux. “Fine. Just as long as we don’t overdo it, it’s whatever. We can dance to Shake it Off by Taylor Swift, though, ‘cause I feel like the video for the song is actually me now.”

The face that Arinta told Skyler she’d been asked that question entirely too much already, but so had he. He smiled a little at the blonde’s comment, shrugging slightly. “Yeah, I guess.” was his only response as he touched his lip out of habit, wincing ever so slightly. “I guess it really could be worse, though. Aside from a split lip and swollen tongue.”

Her lips made a departure as she was about to return the greeting, only to stop once his all to typical question surfaced. She had heard that question so many times over the past week and a half that she was actually beginning to grow a little better at handling it. It still made her stomach churn but she was able to keep her outward appearance stable enough. “Are you?” Returning the question blonde brows ascended, as she gestured to the cut upon his lip.

The voice was causing a stir in Skyler’s sleeping state but he still couldn’t quite wake up. Instead, he’s body tried it’s best, causing his eyes to flutter a bit.

“Because, I’m taking you on an adventure. If you don’t get up I’m going to start tickling you,” she warned.

"Why is everyone obsessed wi--” Skyler’s words fell short as he realized he knew the voice. A large lump formed in his throat as his nerves began to sky rocket. “I’ll just uh... I’ll go.” he mumbled, putting his head down as he began to walk out of the dorm’s lounge.

“ look at all these cats! ” 

Skyler couldn’t help but laugh. “We have two things in common.” he corrected with a nod. “Are you the eldest? I’m the middle child myself, so I blamed the other two a lot. “I’ll be 18 this year. Does that make me an old junior?”

“I like Halloween, too,” he replied, smiling at the joy on Skyler’s face. It was funny the oxymoron in Bodhi’s statement. Like the holiday, hate the day of birth. “Yeah. call me Bo,” he replied, before his smile dropped for the smallest instance. “I’m going to be 17. I’m a young senior. And you don’t have to do anything for my birthday, really.” Bodhi gave a nod, appreciating the energy the other boy gave off. “I have two as well. Whaddya know. We have something in common.”

“Grayson.” he answered with ease as he noticed her reaction to one of his comments. “I didn’t mean to say I’m some kind of spoiled kid or something.. Sorry. It’s a reason for me to get away from my parents for a while.” Skyler shrugged and scratched at the back of his head. “Um.. What’s the best part?”

“Oh, who’s your cousin?” Almost choking after he said his parents could afford it. Whenever someone mentioned being well off it just made her sad. Evelyn was never jealous of wealth, only the lack of financial that came along with it. “You probably haven’t even seen the best part yet… “

i have to get to bed earlier so my other replies are drafter. i had to get the one to gray out right away because i’m all emotional from watching Six Feet Under lol so i had to muse for it now and decided to burn the world down with it. D:

Skyler couldn’t ignore the tightness in his chest that was building up at the words coming from his cousin. Honestly, he knew he was only trying to apologize and make amends, but part of him hated every word that came out of Grayson’s mouth. “Stop.” he said clearly. His eyes locked on Grayson and he gave him a baffle filled smile. “Shut up, alright? All you’re doing is making this all about you. I get that you’re sorry and that you fucked up, but you haven’t even asked me how I am; how I feel.” The brunette shook his head and let out an out of place laugh, looking at the wall to the right of them. “Whenever we fight, you always go on like nothing happened, and I just went with it because I felt like it didn’t matter if you didn’t care. So, why should I care? And the few other times you have apologized, you never asked me if I was okay.”

Golden eyes swung to look straight into Grayson’s as they became blurry with tears. “Well, you know what: I’m not fine, okay? Happy? I haven’t been for a long time and you seem to be completely blind to that.” Tears started to slowly roll down his cheeks as he spoke, making him feel more exposed than he ever had been. Only three others knew how he felt inside, if you included Bo.. “Remember.. Remember a couple summers back when I left to this camp in Michigan for a few weeks? Camp Freedom or something? It doesn’t exist, Grayson. I never left the state. I didn’t even leave Long Beach. I was in a hospital. I was stuck inside a room where they asked me a million and one questions..” Skyler took a breath and wipe a hand across his face to dry the tears that were dripping off his chin and staining the shirt he had on.

“What did you eat? How are you feeling? On a scale of one to ten, how down are you feeling today?” he recited easily, not taking a break before continuing. “But the one question I could never answer.. Why did one of my friends walk in on me with a gun to my skull?” Skyler’s heart dropped and his face was quickly covered with both hands. He didn’t care anymore. He didn’t feel like putting on his mask anymore, at least not right now. There was too much hatred revolving around Skyler in just one day.

Grayson had been lost in the thoughts the silence had granted him, thinking about how he’d fucked something up that he never thought that he could, and it was all for nothing. He’d punched his blood over someone who just ended up leaving him anyways. Why Skyler had finally spoke, it caught the male off guard, causing him to jump a little bit, looking back up at his cousin. “Talking about my problems isn’t what I’m here for, Sky.” He replied with a sigh, running a hand through his hair. “I’m here to make sure that my stupid fucking mistakes doesn’t make me loose you too. Because I’ll go insane if I do. Nearly did anyways.” He blurted out the last bit, clenching his jaw shut before he shook his head. He didn’t want his cousin to know the fact he’d drank himself numb and blacked out on the floor, not even bothering to mess with his torn stitches. “I act like I don’t have any, you know this. But shit man, there’s been times I wish I really didn’t.” He breathed out, pushing himself back on the bed he was sitting on, pulling his legs up to his chest with a wince. “You didn’t even really do anything, that’s why I’m here. I fucked up and I just wanted to make it right. I’m sorry.”

“You might be able to. I mean, drunk karaoke is a kind of a hiddden talent of mine, just to let you know.” he teased, giving her a smug roll of his shoulder. “Nice to meet you, too.”

“Lucy.” She said with a smile, “Nice to meet you - I hope I can hear your drunken singing at some point this year.” She joked.

Hearing the voice in his ear, Skyler rolled over and smiled, still fast asleep. “Why are you in my bed?” he mumbled sleepily.

Birdie rolled her eyes, laughing a little at his refusal to wake up. She jumped onto his bed, shaking him harder and leaning over the boy. “Wake up!” she said again, this time closer to his ear. “Come on, when there’s a cute girl in your bed you’re supposed to wake up.”
