Saturday: fan content
As some of you may know I occasionally write my own fanfictions and I've written some Black Butler content, but my all time favorite fanfic of Snake was written by someone else and sadly, I wasn't able to find it in order to link it.
The fanfic was on Quotev (I think? Could have been DeviantArt or Ao3 too but I think it was Quotev). It was about Snake getting rescued by the corcus troupe. The moments I distinctly remember include Doll trying to whistle like Joker but it being more of a chirp, Snake's dirty fingernails were discussed and that at some point after a bath, his scales were shedding and Doll asked if that hurt at all. It was very detailed and described Snake's relationship with the other members to a T, but I don't remember the author or the name :(

The idea that Sebastian likes cats so much is so funny to me. Here is this guy that nearly gets an aneurysm every time Mey-Rin breaks a plate, yet he's in love with a creature that doesn't give two fucks of they break your Gucci vase or not.
Idk why but the concept of Sebastian facing demon peer pressure from other demons is both interesting and funny to me.
Like, I know we haven't really seen a lot of demons as a species nor do we know how they behave in general (unless you count the garbagefire that was Kuroshitsuji II of course but I digress)
Sebastian's not just a demon butler that's serving a human; he's a demon butler who adores cats.
Meanwhile I can imagine almost any other demon wanting to eat a cat.

Friday: memories
My favourite moments of Snake would be when he gets a little silly. Like when he asked for a bag to carry all his snakes or even before that when he's hiding in that indoor garden munching on that curry bread.
I remember choking on my own laugh when the Emerald Witch arc went down.... And so did Oscar.
Then recently we've been given more insight in how his communication with the snakes works, which gave us this hilarious panel:
Other than that, I liked it when Snake appeared in the background, just doing his thing, finally living a normal life for once. For as normal as it gets while being a Phantomhive servant, at least.

In hindsight, the fact that this part wasn't in the movie isn't just a huge bummer, it's also a lack in character development for Snake for those who only watch the anime. Apparently this moment and this encouragement was pivotal enough for Snake to start changing the way he viewed himself as is now evident in the flashbacks.
You go snakeboy, go stand tall and proud!

In memoriam
Now that most of you have read chapter 209 of the manga and have hopefully let it settle in a bit, I would like to give some attention to this.
RIP Snake 3/15/1871 - 12/9/1889
A beloved member of the Phantomhive household and Kuroshitsuji family has passed away. Snake, as we learned, was 18 years old and had no other name. His eccentric looks an dabilities made him a very special character to many who have feelings akin to Snake's: the fact that they desperately want to belong somewhere, despite being an oddity. Snake therefore was a very popular character, even becoming the seventh most popular character of the series according to an official poll, just missing out on the Akuma Six.
Much about Snake remains a mystery. We still don't know what caused his appearance, or how he wound up at the freakshow. I have little hope that we'll find that out yet now that he's gone.
But we will not let his passing go by unnoticed. That's why we announce the following:
Snake's memorial service (#Snake Memorial)
Starting this friday, and lasting throughout the weekend, we will honor Snake in the ways fandoms tend to do:
Friday: Memories day. Share your favourite manga/anime moment(s) of Snake and his Snakes.
Saturday: Fan content. Share your fanfictions, fanart, etc. featuring Snake.
Sunday: Speculation day. What headcanons do you have for Snake? Which questions left unanswered do you think you have the solution to? Share your thoughts on Snake on the third and final day.
How to participate?
Of course we leave that entirely up to you! If you want us to reblog your posts, use the tag #Snake Memorial or send in something using the askbox or submission page.
Remember: Snake will only truly die if we forget about him as a fandom.
