Thank You and Bye Bye
This blog will remain inactive, with DSMP being fully and completely over and... other assorted reasons, I don't have any motivation to draw any more for it. This blog will remain up, I have 0 plans on deleting it!
Maybe one day, if tumblr still remains standing in 5 years and I get the itch, I'll return and post something. I am forever grateful to the server and its story, and value everything I drew for it. None of this time was wasted. Thank you to all and anyone who commented, RBd, liked, or even looked at my art and thought "neat". Those things always meant more to me than you could imagine (not to be parasocial...).
I've been done and over DSMP for a while, saying byebye to this blog was really the only thing I felt I had left to do... I've just been stumped on how to say it. I don't think it's gonna get better than this. Maybe you'll find me in another corner of the internet some day, who knows!

The post about Brushes
I’ve used CSP for a couple of years and have gone through a good chunk of brushes in that time, but here are the ones I use the most! All of these are available for free on CSP assets.
The post is quite long, but I’ve split it into sections. I just really like hoarding brushes..
Sketching and Lining
Homebrew Zaku Pencil (自作ざく鉛筆)
My go-to for both sketching and doodling. Texture is somewhere between a marker and pencil, just generally nice to draw with. If you’re only gonna download one of the brushes here, go with this one.
Ballpoint pen with Crm_ lame (Crm_ラメ入りボールペン)
This is the brush I use for lineart most of the time. Just turn off the Dual Brush feature to get rid of the glitter effect. I also turn off the colour jitter since it isnt an effect I like, but thats up to your own preference.
Write BōrupenP - ボールペンP
Ballpoint pen like brush. I use it with multiply on + a blue colour. I also like pairing it with the math grid texture from the textures section at the bottom of this post. Mostly just used for doodling.

Just an overall nice rough textured sketch/line brush.

Honourable mention to a 3px large binary brush with pen pressure turned off. If my wrist hurts I use that to doodle.

Colouring and Shading
No gaps close and fill + for erasing tool reference layer (隙間無く囲って塗る＋消すツール 参照レイヤー用)
Fill tool I use for solid base colour.
Crm_wc塗り-比較濃度平筆(ムラ)
Marker brush I use for base colouring, shading etc.. I change brush tip angle to 90 + directon of pen. I colour in a clipping folder set above a solid base colour, and like for some of the “base” colour to shine through(?)
■ T marker/brenda- (■Tマーカー/ブレンダ―)
Brush I use for blending/smoothing the above marker brush. Once again I change brush tip angle to 90 + directon of pen.

I also use a regular hard round brush with pen pressure on and minimum size set to 0, with anti aliasing either off or set to lowest.

Auto Actions
Automatic Shadow Color creation (影色自動作成)
I’m really bad at picking shading colours, but this auto action creates a layer folder for shading based on your base colours automatically for you! Literally my god-send. I usually change the folder from “multiply” to “linear burn” instead.
Emo Shadowing auto action (エモ影化オートアクション)
Made by same person as above. Once you’re done shading, use this to give your shadows a “glow” effect.
Could be retro auto action (レトロかもしれないオートアクション)
Gives a “retro” effect. I usually use it on low opacity. Also includes a bonus RGB shift auto action.
Sharpening and bringing details.
This auto action set includes a bunch of different auto actions, but I only use the RGB shift and sharpening/sharpening strong. Makes your drawing look more “crisp”.

Textures
Noise RGB
the RGB noise I use. I use it on a “soft light” layer above my drawings. Nothing special to say, just happened to be the one I downloaded.
Dust is also a color. (塵もわカラー)
“Rainbow cloud” brush. Nice for getting in some colour variation. Used sparingly here and there on an overlay or soft light layer.
Fantasy Backgrounds, textures (幻想背景、テクスチャ)
Some of my favourite textures to use!
ph Math Grid 罫紙
Grid texture. I like using it with the ballpoint pen in the sketching/lining section. Default colour is green, but I usually set it to light blue.

I also use A LOT of gradient maps from different sets. I don’t really have any specific ones I can recomend since I use different ones for each and every drawing most of the time.. whoops.

And that’s that! I use more stuff here and there, but these are the brushes/assets I use most consistently. Messing around with brushes in CSP is one of my favourite things to do, and I probably spend more time just messing around with them than actually drawing HAHAHA...haha.....

I haven’t used tumblr in years ahaha... I’d stopped using it even before the ban on nsfw, which sure was something.
BUT I want somewhere to post my DSMP/OSMP/general MCYT fanart that’s more organized (and better archived) than twitter, and I’m not sure pixiv would be the best place for minecraft streamer fanart, so tumblr it is!
idk what else to say, I’ll start off by schedueling the stuff I’ve already posted on twitter I suppose. Maybe I’ll post some ramblings on my headcanons in the future? Who knows! The world is my oyster!
...oh also please let me know if I use the wrong tags for something, I’m not sure what the general etiquette for tagging in this fandom is..
