[Hotel California] [Eagles] [1976] [LP] Oh how I love it, this ingenious improvised guitar duet... But also the vocals of Don Henley and at all everything, just great! . . . . . On a dark desert highway Cool wind in my hair Warm smell of colitas Rising up through the air Up ahead in the distance I saw a shimmering light My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim I had to stop for the night . There she stood in the doorway I heard the mission bell And I was thinking to myself "This could be Heaven or this could be Hell" Then she lit up a candle And she showed me the way There were voices down the corridor I thought I heard them say . Welcome to the Hotel California Such a lovely place (such a lovely place) Such a lovely face Plenty of room at the Hotel California Any time of year (any time of year) You can find it here . Her mind is Tiffany-twisted She got the Mercedes Benz She got a lot of pretty, pretty boys That she calls friends How they dance in the courtyard Sweet summer sweat Some dance to remember Some dance to forget . So I called up the Captain "Please bring me my wine" He said, 'We haven't had that spirit here Since 1969" And still those voices are calling from far away Wake you up in the middle of the night Just to hear them say . Welcome to the Hotel California Such a lovely place (such a lovely place) Such a lovely face They livin' it up at the Hotel California What a nice surprise (what a nice surprise) Bring your alibis . Mirrors on the ceiling The pink champagne on ice And she said, 'We are all just prisoners here Of our own device" And in the master's chambers They gathered for the feast They stab it with their steely knives But they just can't kill the beast . Last thing I remember, I was Running for the door I had to find the passage back To the place I was before "Relax, " said the night man "We are programmed to receive You can check out any time you like But you can never leave" . . . . . #HotelCalifornia #NewKidInTown #TheEagles #TheEaglesBand #TheEaglesHotelCalifornia #GlennFrey #DonFelder #JosephFidler #JoeWalsh #BernieLeadon #RandyMeisner #AsylumRecords #BillSzymczyk #Rockmusic #CountryRock #WestCoastMusic #SoftRock #FolkRock https://www.instagram.com/p/CpQbg9zohT0/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

[Hidden Orchestra] [Night Walks] [2010] [CD] Joe Acheson is a producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist. The project "Hidden Orchestra" has sprung from his genius. On the debut album "Night Walks" the musicians of the "Hidden Orchestra" combine all kinds of styles to a new independent sound structure. Jazz elements mix with classical music, pop, rock, progressive rock, ambient, electronic music. Brass instruments harmonize with modern beats as well as string instruments with field recordings! Postrock, chamber music, electronic gimmicks, occasional soundtrack atmosphere. In short: there is never boredom, but there is also never unmanageable chaos in this bizarre and at the same time beautiful nightly walk. . . . . . #Nightwalks #HiddenOrchestra #Chillmusic #Ambientmusic #DarkAmbient #Downtempo #Experimentalmusic #Postrock #Instrumentalrock #Jazzrock #Electronica #Psychedelicrock #Modernelectronica #Jazz #Classicalmusic #ModernCalssical #Pop #Rock #AmbientJazz #DrumAndBass #JoeAcheson #PoppyAckroyd #truthoughts #truthoughtsrecords #truthoughtsrecording #nowlistening https://www.instagram.com/p/Co5HtotIzYZ/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

[Pictures in the Dark] [Mike Oldfield] [1985] [7 inch Non Album Single] An incredibly bad cover design. An incredibly good song by Mike Oldfield. . Mike Oldfield's excursions into the pop world have always been ridiculed, quite unjustifiably. Let the grail keepers of prog rock tear their mouths off listening to this masterfully crafted pop rock gem (a track that, by the way, is more progressive than many a "real" prog rock track) . Either you have never really finished listening to the track or you simply have no idea! Pictures in the Dark is a great made pop song with excellent progressive elements or if you want a great progrock song with excellent pop elements. . By the way: On the B-side of this single is "Legend" a "real" Mike Oldfield track. P.S. Maybe the so-called prog rock experts should also see it with a little humour. Mike Oldfield proves this in many of his works over and over again. Anyone who really listens to Mike Oldfield quickly notices that this master has the rascal in the neck! . . . . #PictureInTheDark #MikeOldfield #PierreMoerlen #AnitaHegerland #MauricePert #BarryPalmer #HansfordRowe #AledJones #progrock #psychrock #psychedelic #progressiverock #progressivemusic #psychedelicmusic #psychedelicrock #progressive #instrumentalrock #folkrock #poprock #SynthiePop #canterburyscene #VirginRecords #DavidBedford #TrevorKey #vinyloftheday #vinyllovers #vinyllover #vinyljunkies https://www.instagram.com/p/CokjA8XIybT/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

[Audentity] [Klaus Schulze] [1983] [Double LP] 40th anniversary of "Audentity". Another great masterpiece! An artist makes an effort to offer something new and already dyed-in-the-wool fans turn away from him. This is what happened to Klaus Schulze with the unusual but highly interesting and impressive double album "Audentity". Already with the two predecessors "Dig It" and "Trancefer" Klaus Schulze had a hard time to convince his dyed-in-the-wool fan community that digital doesn't have to be automatically bad compared to analog. Unfortunately, many 80's electronic albums were not really intoxicating. Even Klaus Schulze did not make the best albums in the 80s and 90s. “Dig It" and "Trancefer" as well as the here presented "Audentity" belong to the best from this creative phase. Well, "Audentity" is a very unusual album. It deals with the tragic and short life of the poet "Georg Trakl" to whom Klaus Schulze dedicated the short but brilliant piece "Georg Trakl" on his milestone album "X" in 1978. "Audentity" is a concept album that has its weaknesses. For example, I don't think the pieces on the first Record "Tango - Saty" and "Opheylissem" were very successful. On the other hand, I like "Cellistica", which is hated by the fans because of its allegedly clumsy rhythm, and the very romantic "Amourage"! On the second record, Klaus Schulze proves his ingenious ability to handle the latest technologies with virtuosity. Especially the piece "Sebastian im Traum", which really looks like a dream, is fantastic! For this alone it is worth to be allowed to call the record his own. . #klausschulze #klausshulze #wolfgangtiepold #michaelshrieve #rainerbloss #innovativecommunication #nowlisteningto #krautrock #klausschulzemusic #berlinschoolmusic #synthesizermusic #elektronischemusik #kosmischemusik #kosmischekuriere #kosmische #deutscheelektronischemusik #germanelectronicmusic #berlinschool #berlinschoolsound #berlinschoolofelectronicmusic #deutscheelektronischemusik #germanelectronicmusic #nowspinning #elektronikmusik #avantgardemusic #synths #nowplaying #ambientmusic #georgtrakl #sebastianimtraum #georgtraklpoetry https://www.instagram.com/p/CoSe-Q1Iu9W/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

[Das Model / Neonlicht] [Kraftwerk] [1978] [7 inch Single German Version] Can you believe that "Das Model" by Kraftwerk is already 45 years old? This catchy track has turned the music world upside down. Blunt lyrics to the simple rhythm, in this apparent simplicity is the highest genius. . Even better than this almost unbeatable ingenious track is in my ears, however, "Neonlicht" on the back of this single. To the full hypnotic effect comes "Neonlicht " but only in the nine-minute version on the revolutionary masterful album "Die Menschmaschine”. . By the way, even if you should not really understand the German language, you should always listen to the music of Kraftwerk in the original so German! . . . . . #DasModel #Neonlicht #krautrock #electronicmusic #elektronischemusik #experimentellemusik #experimentalmusic #kraftwerkofficial #avantgardemusic #deutscheelektronischemusik #düsseldorferschule #düsseldorfersound #germanelectronicmusic #germanelectronic #synths #synthpop #klingklangstudio #klingklang #klingklangmusik #klingklangrecords #klingklangprodukt #FlorianSchneiderEsleben #RalfHütter #ralfhuetter #karlbartos #kraftwerk #Neonlicht #wolfgangflür #DieMenschMaschine #emssynthiaks https://www.instagram.com/p/CnxAMYhouXj/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

[Mosaique] [Robert Schröder] [1981] [LP] I still consider "Harmonic Ascendent" to be Robert Schröder's best album, but "Mosaique" comes damn close and is even better in places! . How do I come to that conclusion? Well, there is nothing to criticize except for the track "Aix-la Chapelle". The biggest part is the track "Computervoice". The title suggests possibly coldness and emotionlessness. But exactly the opposite is the case. "Computervoice" is as full of warmth and depth as many a track by the grand master Klaus Schulze, who died far too early last year, and who served as producer on this album yet again. However, it is not a Klaus Schulze copy but characterized by the strong romantic vein of Robert Schröder. . By the way: like many productions of "Innovative Communication" this LP is recorded with 45 rpm and gets a very special charm if you reduce the speed to 33 rpm! . In short, beautiful music. . . . . . #Mosaique #berlinerschule #klausschulze #elektronischemusik #synthesizer #romanticmusic #electronicmusic #electroacustic #ambientmusic #analogsynthesizermusik #analogsynthesizermusic #synthesizermusic #germanelectronicmusic #berlinscoolmusic #downtempo #berlinschoolofelectronicmusic #berlinschoolmusic #vinyljunkie #berlinschoolelectronicmusic #cosmic #nowspinning #electroniconvinyl #robertschroeder #RobVanSchalk #cosmicmusic #RobertSchröder #CharlyBüchel #FredSeverloh #HarmonicAscendant https://www.instagram.com/p/Cne_ZOmIRjp/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

[War of The Worlds] [Jeff Wayne] [1978] [LP] No one would have believed In the last years of the nineteenth century That human affairs were being watched from the timeless worlds of space No one could have dreamed that we were being scrutinized . As someone with a microscope studies creatures that swarm and multiply in a drop of water Few men even considered the possibility of life on other planets And yet, across the gulf of space Minds immeasurably superior to ours Regarded this Earth with envious eyes And slowly and surely, they drew their plans against us . At midnight, on the 12th of August A huge mass of luminous gas erupted from Mars and sped towards Earth Across two hundred million miles of void, invisibly hurtling towards us Came the first of the missiles that were to bring so much calamity to Earth . As I watched, there was another jet of gas It was another missile, starting on its way And that's how it was for the next ten nights A flare, spurting out from Mars. Bright green, drawing a green mist behind it, a beautiful, but somehow disturbing sight Ogilvy, the astronomer, assured me we were in no danger. He was convinced there could be no living thing on that remote, forbidding planet . "The chances of anything coming from Mars are a million to one" he said "The chances of anything coming from Mars are a million to one" But still they come!

[New age of earth] [Ashra] [1977] [LP] Actually I don't want to believe it, but unfortunately it's true, Manuel Göttsching (one of my gods of electronic music) passed away on 12/4/2022 at the age of 70. . For this sad occasion I post this little article here again. . R.I.P. Manuel Göttsching . Ashra or also Ash Ra Tempel is actually Manuel Goettsching, sometimes with colleagues sometimes solo. In this case again a pure solo project. . Rarely do the titles on the album relate to the respective track. With the seven and a half minutes long "Sunrain" you could actually imagine a light but steady and refreshing summer rain. . The title "Ocean of Tenderness" also fits very well. A tender, soulful and longing sound carpet that at the end slides from a flattering guitar into gentle reverie. . During the short "Deep Distance" you can literally imagine the wide deep space of the universe. Of course, in the end everyone has his own fantasy. That's the good thing about music and especially electronic music. Thoughts are free, the music is just a bridge to whatever world! . The last piece is called "Nightdust". A very melancholic and sad looking piece. Here the melancholy of German electronic music, which was typical for that time, really comes into its own. Worthy of Edgar Froese or Klaus Schulze! . In my humble opinion it is the best Manuel Goettsching album of the 70s. All in all it belongs to the best electronic albums at all!

[CTI] [Core] [CD] [1988] "CTI" is a side project of the industrial icons "Chris and Cosey". For their album "Core" they could win illustrious musicians like Robert Wyatt(!), Monte Cazazza, Lustmord(Brian William), John Duncan, John Balance and Peter Christopherson(Coil) as well as Boyd Rice and Joe Potts. . The result is an industrial album of the finest quality! Industrial in its purest form with all its wonderful facets like Ambient, Electro Pop, Dark Ambient, experimental music... . Let yourself fall into the dark and fantastic sound structures and experience an extraordinary, fascinating and captivating adventure.

[Sternzeit] [Adelbert von Deyen] [1978] [LP] The artist "Adelbert Von Deyen" was a big Klaus Schulze fan. You can also hear that in his musical works. This does not mean that he simply copied Klaus Schulze's works. That would not be possible because of the genius of the great master of electronic music. But Adelbert von Deyen had a similar approach and, like Klaus Schulze, loved the slow, almost static structure of his 20-minute tracks. . His debut album "Sternzeit", along with the two subsequent works "Nordborg" and "Atmosphere", is one of the best albums he has released . . Beautiful, static, monotonous, spherical sound sculptures whose hypnotic effect you can't escape and don't even want to.

[Scary Monsters (and super Creeps)] [David Bowie] [LP] [1980] With musicians like Pete Townsend, Robert Fripp, Carlos Alomar, Tony Visconti. Andy Clark and others, the album "Scary Monsters" is already on a pretty high level. But by "Ashes to Ashes" ,which captivates by its ingenious mood changes, it is catapulted into highest spheres! . Beside this for all times unattainable masterly track there are also other extremely worth hearing tracks like for example the almost even more impressive "Teenage Wildlife" or the progressive "It's no game" dominated by Robert Fripp. Not to forget the title track "Scary Monsters" a track that intelligently merges Rock, Progressive Rock and New Wave and thus becomes a very unique track. . All in all not the best album by David Bowie, but alone by the tracks mentioned here a not everyday, impressive work and a "must have"!

[Travelogue] [The Human League] [LP] [1980] If you disregard the unfortunately somewhat unsuccessful remix of "Being Boiled", "Travelogue" is the best album of "The Human League" in my humble opinion. Nothing against the following mega successful synthpop works of "Human League". But none of their albums was as unusual and ahead of its time as "Travelogue". . The Human League created a completely new sound on this album (although the influence of "Kraftwerk" cannot be ignored). First and foremost, I would like to highlight the overwhelming epic "Dreams of Leaving". A masterpiece, because there is hardly any other song in the popular music world that combines the prog rock of the ending 1970s with the electropop of the beginning 1980s in such a fascinating way. Immediately following is the no less progressive, almost ambient-like "Toyota City," an unusual but crowning conclusion to the album's A-side. . As stated at the beginning, the remix of the single "Being Boiled" on the B-side of the album is a bit overproduced compared to the initial release of this great track. Nevertheless, this version is still groundbreaking in electropop. Another brilliant conclusion to the album is the excellent bizarre "WXJL Tonight". . Overall, this album is full of energy and full of quirky, weird, sometimes dark ("Dreams of Leaving"), sometimes ironically humorous (e.g. the brilliant "The black Hits of Space") ideas. . Some reviewers completely tear down this album. A fact that I can not understand in any way!
