I recently re-read Their Guiding Light (because its an amazing arc) and remembered that it said that during the american singularity Diarmuid fought his singularity doppleganger and Nobu had bullets flying for both of them. I pictured the scene in my head and found it realy hillarious. Is it possible you make a shard out of this scene?
I could add it to the list, but I’ll see how many I can do before the Christmas update.

How many shards do plan on making before releasing the next fragment?
Not very many I’m afraid. I wish I could do more like I used to. Apologies, friend.

Will the backup dancer Medca Eli’s be all that we will see of the servant version or is it possible they may become true servants, or at least be upgraded to become sentient?
The Mecha Elis probably will never become full fledged servants in this AU, but upgraded to sentient and capable of doing ‘lighter’ roles is a fair possibility

How about for a shard, you could showcase how some of the servants use their abilities in interesting ways, like melt’s liquid form and the like?
This one now moves higher on the priority ladder because it’s been requested a few times

No idea when I’ll be able to push the next fragment out again, but after throwing all that effort into a difficult fragment I’m able to push out some shards again.
Thanks for all those who expressed interest and followed along during the long wait, and especially to those who’ve stuck around!
To everyone who sent in shard requests: The reasonable ones have been noted down.

More Delays than Anticipated
That sums up this year’s updates in a nutshell, but it wasn’t calculated delays this time around. Turns out I have far more trouble writing OC entries than I do ones about servants. I’ve had to revise this one several times over at this point because Skyler is a fragile balance I need to get right or people will just blanket oversimplify him into generic labels.
Of course some will do that regardless of how I write him, but I need to make sure his foundation is fleshed out very clearly without breaking the... “flow” between scenes. That’ll make more sense when it’s released hopefully in the coming week. I can at least offer another servant from the Lostbelts era is making an early summoning (Not one that relies heavily on chronological progression mind you.)

Thoughts on the “ Imaginary Scramble” events and its inclusion in your story?
At this point I wouldn’t hold your breath on anything with how much delays and distance there is between fragments. I’m also not that interested in this event to be honest, even if Van Gogh’s appearance is an eyebrow raiser.

Has the “ Murder at the KOGETSUKAN” happen yet, and if not the when will it happen?
Most events don’t get written out fully and just merged into the background. This one in particular probably won’t see an incarnation of sorts until later, if at all.

glad to see you are still working on this wonderful story and i am grateful you continue to work on it despite all setbacks, if i might make a suggestion on how you could reduce your backlog: why dont you employ some of your faithful readers? You probably know them better then i do, so you could find a couple of them with good writhing skills and ask them to make chapters you are not very entusiastic about writhing, check their work and after that post it,avoids burnout and makes it go fast
Unfortunately the delays just keep getting worse thanks to unexpected developments, as is obviously the case with this fragment again.
As for why I don’t task out, I’ll try and put a few key points in what would otherwise be an essay’s worth of a “no”.
The majority of readers are here because of the consistency of the writing standard, as shaky as it can be at times. To hand out all those plot points would also mean we’re now waiting on others to make a minimum 10k entry that they may not even be invested in completing. There’s still an order of operations that will be maintained.
And for a final point, I have considered doing it, but the only time I will hand out those plot points and other subplot weaving necessary for each fragment would be after a decision that the fanfic will be discontinued. Because at that point, I wouldn’t be writing anymore.

Have you planned to do stuff with Gray? I feel like she'd being interesting stuff with the Pendragon family: How would Artoria react to Add SORT of being her adoptive brother Kay, or the BS that Gray's village was doing to her to make her Artoria's vessel? How about Mordred, as Gray is a descendant of their line she might treat gray as a little sister and try and get her to be proud of being part of the Pendragon lineage, which Gray doesn't care about. Just saying, lots of possible angles here.
There’s been lots of planning around Gray. It’s just too soon to just add her in without it being shoehorned.

I know Blackbeard is focused on Drake, but once Mochizuki Chiyome arrives (whenever and however that may be), would he still give it a "try" to date the shinobi? Yes, I am asking because of the Halloween event, normally, he is my favorite part of any event and this year hes little "crush" was the best so far. Again, I know he has a goal in mind, but he is also Blackbeard, so I wouldn't leave it beyond him to perform double duty.
I mean he’s a pirate, so it could swing either way. Either he just casually goes for it too because pirate morals are loose, or he tried a new route and focuses that determination of his to staying faithful. I’d likely go for somewhere in between or some other variation involving the two points.

FoC Fluff Trivia 10
Now that she’s been in Chaldea longer, let’s see what Artesia (Arturia Alter) has to say now.
- There’s a robot specifically assigned to handling her food orders now. Yes, that robot was previously assigned to garbage duty.
- Joan’s one of the few other servants who have actually seen her new Chaldean room. She’s the only other servant who’s glimpsed the inside of her closet. Their friendship is complicated, yet surprisingly close.
- She not-so-secretly wants a motorcycle. Apparently three craft coins (one primary, two spares) of that mystic code bike don’t count.
- Chaldean Edison asked if she’d ever change her body to the more mature alter they’d come across on several occasions. She flatly refused, stating a tyrant has no need for useless body proportions.
- There’s a hair-trigger unspoken “ceasefire” between her and Lobo due to the ‘shared custody’ of Cavall II. So long as the other doesn’t harm the furball, no sparks will fly.
- She’s flown some of the Vigil’s prototype jets so the Vigil Edison would know how to improve their safety for normal pilots. She finds the planes boring and unlively despite flying far, far faster than a horse ever could.
- You want to get on her good side? Her favorite order for January is three double-doubles, seven large fries, and two chocolate milkshakes. Or the Chaldean rough equivalent since McDonalds doesn’t have a venture in the secret organization. Yet?
- She’s maintained zero interest in the Emiya Family and New Camelot. As far as she’s grown to be concerned, Skyler and Vanguard are her real comrades.
- During a benign singularity turned malignant, Artesia and Arturia worked together for the first and still only time. And by worked together, they released their noble phantasms at the same target and dealt far, far more damage than anyone could have predicted. As Tyler joked, “Unless all hope is lost, don’t cross the streams.”
- The Afghan soldier in Vanguard platoon got her a stuffed animal as a present after she warmed up to them. She secretly still has it even if the other woman believes she through it out. The soldier doesn’t mind since she insists the gesture itself is what needed to be done.

Regarding the Unnamed Other Projects
To address it directly: I’m sorry, but I won’t be revealing that information.
These other large projects are completely unrelated to Fragments of Chaldea, and I have a possibly strange interest in keeping my interests from directly influencing the success of the others.
If I ever did reveal those projects here to possibly garner attention, I’m afraid that’s news you shouldn’t be excited to see: That means this one is being cancelled.

What has been your favorite lost shard you wrote so far, and how many chapters are left before we get to the next supplement shard?
Honestly the fluffy shards are my favorites to write aside from the excerpts from Thronebook.
To all who asked: Two fragments before the Shimosa supplement, counting the next one.

Grand Order Arcade just got Proto Merlin. What do you think about her and are you to put her FoC anytime soon? P.S: I BEG please put her, two merlins would be so much fun.
All questions regarding Proto Merlin addressed here
I’m sorry. Given the current upload time, I can’t given any promises on when anyone could pop in. She hasn’t really caught my eye, but I was wondering when she’d drop considering all the teasing.
Her nickname is still a toss up.
