Arthur discreetly tangled his pinky with Merlin's, the rest of his hand remaining curled into a tight fist. His knuckles were white, and his nails dug sharply into his palms with the force he was clenching his hand. Merlin was a saint as always, managing to stay polite even in the face of Uther's not-very-well-masked anger. Arthur had no idea what he'd done to deserve such a man.

"Of course, father," Arthur politely replied, watching as the man gave them a disdainful sneer and strode away. As soon as Uther left, Arthur let out a breath he didn't know he'd been holding. He could feel his body relax and his fist loosen. With all the adrenaline rushing out of him, he suddenly felt weak, as if his legs would no longer hold him upright.

"Anywhere there are chairs. I need to sit a moment." He felt disoriented, off-kilter. He'd been expecting a big fight and had instead been met with Uther's usual cold anger. "I, uh--" Arthur looked at his watch, noticing only an hour and a half had passed. "I need to be seen here a little longer and then we can go." Although he wasn't sure Uther's two-hour rule applied any longer.

Forcing a smile onto his face, he looked over at Merlin. "We are going to take advantage of the ridiculously fancy food and the expensive drinks." Arthur would never be able to afford anything of the sort if Uther decided to cut him off. "Think of it as a date on Uther's coin."

   Merlin had to resist the urge to say something that might get him thrown out. Though knowing Uther, he would find a way to throw him out without saying a word. His hand reached down to curl in to Arthur’s, giving it the faintest squeeze of comfort. The sooner they got this over, the better for the both of them he was sure. And for Arthur the most, whom he was sure was a bubble of anxiety right now. If anything, he was fairly certain that he could feel it.

   “No matter, I happy happy to met your acquaintance at last, sir. Arthur has told me a lot about you.” That small frown didn’t seem to go away, if anything, the look in Uther’s eyes told him that he would rather he not speak right now. Unfortunately for Uther, Merlin was never one to keep quiet for long.

   “We shall discuss the at another moment, Arthur,” Uther said, shifting his eyes from Merlin’s to his sons instead. Merlin squeezed Arthur’s hand again and he didn’t fail to to notice how Uther saw that one that time and his frown deepened ever so slightly. Pity, Arthur deserved a better father than that man, but he wasn’t sure if he would ever change.

   Finally, Uther left them be and Merlin took a breath in and out. “Shall we go out to the balcony?” Merlin asked, hoping some fresh air would do them both some good. In truth, he really wanted to get away and go back to his apartment and curl up with Arthur on the couch or in bed. Anything was better than being here and he was sure that Arthur felt much the same as he did there.

I once again forgot to unpause the queue 🙃 I have a few drafts that will get posted first but then the memes will come out oldest to newest. I'm gonna keep the queue at once a day so I don't get too overwhelmed with it.

Inbox is clear! I made myself focus on writing only a few sentences for each meme instead of an entire novel which really helped. I did end up getting rid of a few I wasn't feeling.

Now I just need to format/tag/maybe find the source meme and do a quick proofread before sticking them in the queue. I'm exhausted and need sleep so I'll do that tomorrow.

Finals are done and I just handed in my last paper! I have a few weeks off before summer classes begin so I'm gonna try to do a small refresh here and get those drafts out.

“Can you stay the whole week?” Seven whole days with Alex? That was almost unheard of. There was always something that pulled Alex away from LA, leaving both of them wishing for more time together. Buck understood that he had many duties as the president's son, but he still hated how difficult long-distance could be sometimes. “Or will you need to be home to get stuff done?” He knew there was a difference between room in Alex’s schedule to make a trip whenever and room enough to be away from home for a whole week. Buck wasn’t about to get his hopes up. “I don’t see why he wouldn’t be all yours,” he replied, ducking his head. How could anyone not want Alex? He was amazing. “Good, ‘cause I’m not about to share my boyfriend.”

“Yes, I am available. All week and the weekend. I’m available.” He lets out a small breath because he’d been hoping for this. He needed to see Buck as much as the other needed to as well. He blushes a little at the admissions coming from Buck. The long distanced sucked but they could at least keep in touch all day with the help of their cell phones. “Damn. That pretty? Fuck. I get it though. Mine’s also really pretty that sometimes it’s weird to go “oh he’s really pretty and all mine.” Alex smirks. “You can have him all to yourself then. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind it.”
