                 catra tried to leap out of the way  at the last second but just as she moved, she-ra grabbed her by her collar and thrust her into the air. the panic that ran through her bones was more than enough to make her claws come out as she tried to dig them into she-ra’s arms to try and encourage her to let go. she didn’t fuss too much, terrified that if she did she would end up digging into the sword by mistake. “adora, please,” she repeated, making sure to use her real name and not she-ra; she knew that the other girl was in there somewhere, even if she didn’t seem to be anywhere to be found right now. she dig her claws in harder, trying to thrash them and get her to let go. “adora!! let me go! what are you doing?!” who did this to you? why are you doing this? she could say a million things right now but words weren’t quite cooperating with her. she tried to stretch out, to scratch something closer. “let go of me!”

                   I’M PUTTING YOU IN YOUR PLACE. ’ the voice of whom once roamed etheria as a princess now began to fall into the madness of the corruption. the figure was large and intimidating, still easily holding the other up. there was pain, blood seeping out of a wound freshly made. a slight wince though barely reacting, she-ra held strong. ‘ me, let go? after all the times you tried to kill me? oh catra... ’ it rang aloud, speaking much like the other whenever she was getting her way. maybe it was to mock her, regardless: the cool blade would seemingly sharpen itself the longer it stayed pressed against the nape of catra’s neck, hopefully beginning to draw blood.. facial features had begun to develop more red vine-like tendons.

                  catra parted her lips to say something  – anything, really – but before she could call adora’s name out again, her gaze was caught by adora flexing her muscles as she held the sword tight and her instincts kicked in. she dived out of the way, falling onto all fours, her back arching and her tail swishing nervously as she tried to remain in control of the situation. “adora?!” she knew this look, she had seen it before, but something was different about it this time; or maybe it was just catra that was different, and the sight of she-ra like this didn’t bring her the same amount of satisfaction it used to. “adora, snap out of it! what’s gotten into you?!” she stood back, lifting herself so she could hold her hands up. "it’s me, catra. i’m sorry, for everything. you remember me, right?”

           THERE WAS AN AWARENESS, DEEP DOWN. one that sang out and said this was wrong. but the corruption was enough to silence it. it didn’t take much, the larger form of she-ra moving at it’s fastest to close the gap between the two, grasping the other by the collar of her top and raising her into the air. the sword came level to the neck of the cat, tip against the skin of her nape.  the smirk returning and opening her mouth to show the intention was genuine. ‘ oh, i remember everything. which is why this is even more fun. ’  who had managed to infect the sword? or was this just some form of ‘new’ she-ra? it was hard to tell. regardless, having her like this was dangerous.

               THIS TIME, THINGS WERE DIFFERENT. though she-ra stood before the cat, absolutely looming with her shadow casting far far behind, a scowl seemed to flatten out what had momentarily been a grin, eyebrows moving in toward the bridge of her nose. a muscled arm rose, sword grasped tightly in hand. once blue eyes now flashing into a haunting red, veins in her arm protruding enough to be visible, matching the stone on the hilt of the sword and eyes that now screamed madness.

                  catra felt her heart leap into her throat,  and not for the first time, she felt light-headed with fear. with a shake of her head she tried to play it off, as though she could physically get rid of it, which obviously wasn’t easy to do. her voice stuttered against her own will. “a-adora?”

                    CATRA SPUTTERED,     entirely against her will, caught off guard by the sudden question. She was sure it was obvious why she was standing; she found herself waving her arms in exasperation at Adora’s question. She was getting used to seeing her girlfriend in She-Ra form without feeling any more resentment or fear but she wasn’t about to swallow her pride and stand on the floor like a newborn kitten when she was trying to explain something. “Because I’m trying to make a point, Adora! And you – you’re so –” She paused, her ears perking straight up as she glared, trying to save what was left of her pride. But she knew the argument was lost when she had to literally stand on the counter to have the upper hand.  “– you’re so tall and I can’t argue with you when you’re like that,” she finally huffed.

             learning was still very much a part of being this... higher power. and only recently had the blonde learned how to change from the default appearance. rather than armor and a tiara, she-ra now sported more casual attire. as per usual, however; the personality very much belonged to adora. ‘ it’s not my fault you’re extremely short. ’ a grin, playful though somehow simultaneously sinister curved at lips that rest below folded brows. piercing blue eyes that were still gazing down, despite the others’ elevated position. ‘ plus... what point are you even trying to make? i don’t remember arguing about anything. ’ 

It’s all fun and games until Adora transforms to tease her(?). Catra isn’t used to it yet ( *ˊᵕˋ )

Catra and Adora’s first Valentine’s day was a success! But Adora drank a little to much (not at all) and now Catra has to carry her home!

Or, I just needed an excuse to make Catra carry Adora bridal style. You’re welcome (?

    it was quick and very abrupt, the larger form of she-ra suddenly cast a shadow across the room. ‘ oh yeah? at least i’m taller than you. ’
