For those of you not aware Mercury Stardust, Point of Pride, and friends are raising funds for Trans Healthcare.
Unfortunately, some TikTok peeps are being complete transphobic bastards and are reporting the lives and getting the accounts banned. The appeals are being rejected.
This hinders getting the word out on this fundraiser.

I get the tonal whiplash but I also like to assume Shang Qinghua's apparent Connecticut Clark Vibes are also due to which character perspective is being written. Most characters don't exactly have a favorable opinion of the man.
Shen Qingqiu - Binghe tinged glasses and beef with airplane, of course his most complementary praise will be that SQH reminds him of a used car salesman.
Luo Binghe - Shizun Tinged glasses, plus Qinghua spends way too much time with Shen Qingqiu and they seem close. Jealousy mandates that the man must be perceived as ugly or he's a threat.
Shang Qinghua - Self esteem is low, like sub basement low. He has been constantly bullied and really cannot perceive himself as more than the worst of the peak lords (which arguably he is not)
Mobei Jun - Fluctuates between perceiving Shang Qinghua as the skeeviest man alive, and the most attractive person he's ever met. The poorer perception is also likely him trying to convince himself he is not attracted to SQH so he won't be devastated when he's inevitably betrayed.
Any of the other peak lords - Shang Qinghua always acts cagey, and is also the only person to tell them no (it's not in the budget dammit!) that likely colors their opinions of his looks, his posture and constant eyebags probably don't help.
Though I suppose a lot of it is that fandom and cannon rarely match up, and often in fanfiction characters are what we need them to be to tell our stories and everyone loves a scrungly little guy pulling a bad bitch. Whichever way you look at it though Moshang is a fun dynamic.
I think I figured out what's been bothering me about learning that canon!SQH is not short.
Canonically Shang Qinghua is handsome, average height, sleazy-vibed, has an extremely high ranking important job, and is actually pretty terrifyingly competent as a peak lord when he wants to be.
He is significantly, objectively, far more than a solid 4/10.
It's just.
It doesn't feel right, because Moshang has such Malfina/Conneticut Clark vibes.
Like, who let this guy be statistically above average? The only thing he should be above average in is being exactly 3rd happiest man in his local area.

no but you don't understand this is why he's perfect! (I even actually like to headcannon Shang Qinghua taller than average) You see Shang Qinghua on his own is actually pretty respectable, 7-8/10
BUT!
(and this is very important)
We only ever see him around peak lords and Mobei Jun all of whom, by comparison, make his ass appear to be a 3 maybe 4 (at least in the appearance department, his competence really hikes up the scales)
Like Shen Qingqiu, and the other peak lords (looking at you LQG) are constantly being compared to peerless beauties, and the man he spend the most time with IS LITERALLY HIS PERFECT MAN. No matter how tall SQH is, he is dwarfed by MBJ and no matter how pretty, handsome or cut he may be he is outclassed at every turn by literally the most beautiful people imaginable.
He's just a scrungly little guy until you finally isolate him and realize "oh wait, he's kinda hot." Which is why he managed to bag the ice king, because MBJ got this man enough to realize he's a fucking catch!
Except he finally marries that perfect man, and will only ever be known by comparison.
