Upon further inspection, the more formless models resemble ones seen in some cocoon-like objects scattered about the Black Comet stages of the game, which appear to be in an early stage of some sort of metamorphosis-like process, with more developed cocoons being seen elsewhere.

In Shadow the Hedgehog (2005), during the cutscene wherein the GUN Commander reveals his backstory, there are several stasis pods other than Shadow's in the background of Gerald Robotnik's lab.
While obscured in the game itself due to framing and a strong bloom effect, the models in the pods are in fact textured and, when properly viewed, appear to be failed or unfinished Shadows. The way these specimens have formed seems to imply that Shadow the Hedgehog was formed wholly from some sort of alien substance rather than artificially gestated.

In Mission mode of Sonic Riders, the Babylon Rogues keep a schedule with short mission reports. The notes read more like a diary, although Storm the Albatross and Wave the Swallow seem to be reporting directly to Jet the Hawk, with Storm calling the objective “Order of Boss”, while Wave calls it “Directive of Jet”. Jet himself calls it “Content of Operation” and “Result of operation”. Some information that can be gathered from their notes:
- Storm the Albatross is afraid of ghosts.
Tumblr media
Storm also seems to consider the idea of Knuckles the Echidna joining the Babylon Rogues.
Tumblr media
- Wave the Swallow really hates being ignored.
Tumblr media
She is also really annoyed by Sonic the Hedgehog.
Tumblr media
- Jet the Hawk is severely not used to being defeated and has a hard time falling asleep after losing.
Tumblr media
Apparently, he also plans everything out, unlike Sonic the Hedgehog, who seems to go by instinct.

In Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal (2014), the player can visit a location known as "Knuckles' Hangout" wherein they can play a daily mini-game with Knuckles the Echidna to earn Tokens. The background art for this location, which depicts a home gym-like setting, features a stone blockade with an engraving resembling the Master Emerald/a Chaos Emerald from the mainline Sonic the Hedgehog series.

Despite the first game never leaving Japan, Sonic Drift 2 (1995) ended up getting a release in Europe and North America. While the game was marketed under the name Sonic Drift Racing in Europe, North America retained the original name with the "2" included, although the actual game's lack of localization meant all versions referred to the game as Sonic Drift 2 on the title screen regardless of region.
This complete lack of localization meant that characters who typically have region-exclusive names remained unchanged. This would mark the first time "Dr. Eggman" was used to refer to the character in a western title, with the game's NA and EU manuals having to mention the Dr. Robotnik name for clarification. No such clarification was given for Fang the Sniper, however, who at the time was known as "Nack the Weasel" in the west.

Due to the retcon of him being Dr. Eggman's descendant rather than his alternate universe counterpart as he was initially presented, Eggman Nega's presence in the Sol Dimension would later go on to be explained as him being in possession of dimension-hopping technology. While this technology was shown off directly in Sonic Comic, what can be assumed to be the same or similar tech is also utilized by Eggman Nega in some of the Mario & Sonic titles.

From 2006 to 2008, Chris Senn, the designer for the infamously cancelled Sonic X-Treme, curated an in-character Myspace page for the similarly scrapped Tiara Boobowski character created by him for the game. It was semi-regularly updated with blog posts from Tiara and features some information about the character not seen anywhere else.

In several instances, Metal Sonic has been shown or implied to link up with the vehicles he uses in racing games.
It is explicitly stated that the Metal Star from Sonic Free Riders (2010) functions this way, while the design of the Blue Devil from Sonic Drift 2 (1995) implies this functionality with its lack of a steering apparatus and what appear to be connective cables in its cabin.

The base design of the Royal Chariot, Blaze the Cat's personal vehicle from Team Sonic Racing (2019), is adorned in various places with the image of a phoenix. Based on the vehicle's name, it's possible that this phoenix is a symbol of the Sol Empire.

Hello! I'm trying to hunt down the old character profiles from the Sonic Channel and official Sonic the Hedgehog websites. In particular, I've been hunting for Shadow's, which do the whole, '50 years old' / 'immortal'/ 'ageless' thing before Sega just took the ages out. It has been a struggle XD I'm wondering if you might be able to point me in the right direction? I have tried internet archive but since the old websites used flash, they don't work very well on the Wayback Machine anymore.
Here is a link to an old version of Sonic Channel that is still kept up. The character profiles on here still retain the characters' ages, but it never listed an age for Shadow in the first place. (Even Eggman has a listed age of "Unknown," Shadow's page completely eschews listing anything at all)

When it comes to official profiles for Shadow, you're going run into this a lot. It's common for them to either completely avoid listing an age or list it as something to the effect of "unknown."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't think Shadow has ever had his age officially listed as "50+" or "Immortal," although his immortality and backstory will obviously be mentioned on certain more fleshed out profiles. The "ageless" descriptor you see thrown around technically has some official use, but the main source for this, and what Sonic Wiki Zone cites, is a character guide published by Scholastic of all things.
Tumblr media
The only thing to my knowledge that gives Shadow an exact age is a leaked script for Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), where his age is listed as 15. This is, however, an internal document so the listed age probably serves as more of a guideline to contextualize social status or dynamics with other characters and therefore is not a reflection of concrete lore.
Here's an imgur page that provides screenshots of profiles from several Japanese Sonic sites. A lot of these sites are still up and often just need a Flash plugin to be viewed, you can find them easily on the "Game Title" section of Sonic Channel. I don't think very many of these sites list ages in their character profiles, however. The only one I recall doing so is the Sonic Rush (2005) site.

Black Doom reveals his true form for the decisive battle against Shadow. From the lower body, which continuously undergoes a seemingly endless fission process, small life forms called "cells" are produced that attack anything that comes near them. However, even this monstrous, colossal form is merely a vessel for generating energy. Doom's Eye is the true puppeteer of this body.
Shadow the Hedgehog Saikyou Kouryaku Guide, a Japanese strategy guide for Shadow the Hedgehog (2005), describes Devil Doom as Black Doom's true form.
