I really hope that Twice is in their dorm living room now, watching some cheesy drama and Tzuyu sits on the sofa under a huge blanket. She has her head on Jihyo’s shoulder, while Nayeon holds her hand. Sana sits behind Tzuyu and plays with her hair. Mina sits on the floor next to Tzuyu’s legs and keeps asking if she’s cold and whether she needs something. Momo goes to the kitchen every 15 minutes and tries to offer different things for Tzuyu to eat. Dahyun makes funny faces at the show, while Chaeyoung and Jungyeon make jokes so lame that even Tzuyu has to smile.

WHY IS TZUYU APOLOGIZING WHAT HAPPENED??????

i dont have the news story in front of me so a few details might be off. also keep in mind im not from taiwan or china so im not the best person to explain the nuances of the political situation.

basically, tzuyu was on some show with jackson from got7. when they were introducing themselves, jackson said he was from china-hong kong, while tzuyu only said she was from taiwan and she was holding a taiwanese flag not a chinese one on the broadcast with twice’s japan line. on the broadcast with jackson, he quickly interceded with “taiwan-china” to “correct” tzuyu but she just looked at him like “what??” now none of this is jacksons fault. he’s an ADULT. he knew that this would lead to bullshit like it has so he tried to quickly fix the situation. tzuyu is a CHILD. she didn’t understand why jackson was saying that to her so she looked a bit confused and didnt say anything to indicate that she agreed. so this fuckhole huang an, (who is a taiwanese singer i believe?? i think hes a singer. i know hes taiwanese.) he supports the one china policy and basically saw the whole thing as an opportunity to kiss some ass and jumped on this child and started spewing out racist bullshit about her. because of him tzuyu and twice have been suffering a lot. they lost a lot of contracts with chinese companies and lots of “fans” are saying racist shit to tzuyu and attacking her, calling her a dog, and using her as a political dummy.

tzuyu was born and raised in TAIWAN. not in china. taiwan has a completely separate culture from china. tzuyu identifies herself with the country and culture she grew up in. her beliefs are being taken away from her and when she tried to hold on to them, she was viciously attacked by full grown adults, mostly men. most taiwanese people do not support the one china policy because its erases and strips away taiwans unique culture and people. tzuyu has done NOTHING wrong. nothing. there is not need to “excuse” this as an immature child because tzuyu is not being immature. she’s just maintaining her beliefs and pride in her own culture. she didn’t make a mistake.

so today jyp put up a video of tzuyu apologizing for literally nothing. she’s reading off some shitty script and they were having her say she’s chinese and she loves the one china policy, and her eyes are swollen like shes been crying and she looks exhausted. there were also pictures of nayeon looking like she was crying at the airport because of how much shit is being thrown at the YOUNGEST member of twice. SIXTEEN. tzuyu is sixteen and shes being stripped of her identity by not only these shitty politicians but also by her company.

(important note: calling chinese people racist things because of this is gross, ofc not all chinese people support this trash its just the shitty politicians and some asshole who is also from taiwan and there are too many people calling chinese people horrible things to “defend” tzuyu so dont do that)
