They did not expect you to fight. They expected you to cower down, bow before them, accept the fate that they had thought out for you. All the more satisfying, then, to smirk up at them through the blood, saying i’m not done yet. You have no idea of the extent of my defiance.

When Lord Snoke sets out to hunt a Wookie head for his collection, Sir Benjamin Solo signs on for the expedition to spite his family’s wishes. In this new world however Ben discovers something completely unexpected; a wild girl raised by the very creatures they’ve come to hunt. A girl who has no notions of polite society, no wealth, no status yet who lives and breathes more freedom in a day than Ben has ever felt. He’s captivated, but Ben has to decide where his loyalties truly lie when the rest of his party learn of her existence. And that she may be the key to far more than just the Wookie’s of Takodana…

moved into my new apartment, but i’m on the couch for the time being. once i’m set up in my new room (sometime over the next month) then i’ll be here more often, but i don’t want to use my laptop too much (as it’s broken and i can’t plug earphones in and i don’t want to disturb everyone). so, until i’m in my new room, i’ll most likely only be mobile. so, replies will halt for the time being, but i’m here for plotting and i’m on discord for rps.

“A class you teach could never be boring.” She’s resulted to flattery. She clears her throat, watching the test dummies float into the space and envisioning how she would execute each spell. She wanted to get them perfect and impress him, but then again she didn’t want to give him a need to say private lessons were no longer required. In truth, she just needed to learn useful skills for her future and pass his class, but that proved difficult when all she could think about was a future with him. That thought ripples through her painfully, causing her to tighten her grip on her wand and clench her jaw involuntarily. After a moment, the feeling of agony passes and her posture relaxes, her shoulders rolling back to relieve any tension.
“I’m ready sir,” she whispers, her eyes dragging across the room hesitantly until they reach his gaze. Such deep dark pools of brown. It was like staring into an endless abyss of pleasure. A hot blush creeps up her neck and she finds herself biting down on her freckled lip to keep herself from acting on any impulses that were racing through her. Her hands begin to shake and she lowers her wand, her body instinctively leaning closer to his. And then she stops herself, forces her gaze back to the dummies and raises her wand once more in a defensive stance, all the while her heart pounding hard in her chest. She can imagine the way his hands would feel brushing her brown curls away from her neck, his hot breath on her ear, his voice whispering her name. Stop this, Rey.
ben fails to notice the light blush that dusted his alabaster skin at the compliment. “ well thank you, ms. kenobi. ”
merlin, that lip bite would be the end of him. she sometimes did it when she was focusing really hard in class and ben always conveniently found himself needing to sit behind his desk during those instances. surely there was no connection. his breathing slows slightly when it looks like she might make a move towards him, but the action is gone as soon as it came and he’d not sure it really happened.
“ okay, well firstly, let’s correct this, ” he moved over and reached his hand up to meet hers, adjusting her fingers just slightly around the curve of her wand, his hand lingering before he let it drop. “ um, defensive spells require a different hold on your wand, as a lot of the movements are sharper than normal casting, and pointing your finger along the side like normal is dangerous. ” he explained.

koi no yokan: The sense one can have upon first meeting a person that the two of you are going to fall in love. Differs from “love at first sight” as it does not imply that the feeling of love exists, only the knowledge that a future love is inevitable.

Seeing him out of his robes makes her heart skip a beat and her stomach flutter, but she pushes those thoughts away to listen to his words. She rolls her own sleeves up, exposing her freckled forearms and smiling at the cool breeze that met her skin. She had overheated in quidditch practice and was stuck in her robes all day, it was nice to shed some layers. She almost asks if it’s okay to take her sweater off and wear just her dress shirt. Shaking that impulse away, she draws her wand and looks up at Ben who towered over her with his height.
“If I’m being honest I think defensive theory was where you lost me,” she admits. “I mean…I understand the concept but I prefer something much more…physical.” The word falls from her lips and she recognizes its double meaning immediately. She hopes he doesn’t pick up on that. Oh how she watched him so closely in class, the way his body moved, the way he walked, the way he held himself. Focus Rey!
ben lifted his wand and floated a test dummy into the space between them. growing up in a established pureblood family meant he’d always been taught that if something could be done with magic then it should be. he remembered how much he’d struggled with doing things the normal way before he turned 17, and ever since then even using it for small things gave him a sense of comfort.
ben tries to force his body not to react to just how inappropriate that had sounded coming from her. he knew shed never think of it that way, she had no idea what she was doing to him. “ i prefer the more hands on approach myself, ” he admitted, pretending he didn’t see anything wrong with his choice of wording. “ these lessons will put you slightly ahead of the rest of the class if they go well, so i’m sorry if your actual classes turn rather boring, ” he said with a playful smile.

“She had more problems with my performance than my tardiness,” she teases, self deprecating humor dripping from her tone. “Thank you for the note, I think if I had shown up without it she would have had my head.” She offers him a soft smile, feeling a wave of relief washing over her at being in his presence once more. What a foolish, foolish girl you are. “So are we just using the classroom then?”
She is more eager to be alone with him than she is to learn, but the rational part of her knows she would never get an opportunity to learn spells like this ever again. She must take advantage of it. Really concentrate, regardless of how distracting Professor Solo was. Without waiting for an answer, she walks into the room and closes the door behind her, a surge of danger rushing through her veins at the idea that they were completely alone. How intimate. “Where do we start, professor?”
Ben carefully removed his own cloak so he was left in his suit pants and dress shirt, rolling up his sleeves so they could get to work. “ i hope you didn’t have any unfortunate tumbles. ” ben had never been one for quidditch in his school days. he still didn’t particularly care one way or the other for the sport. of course, he’d been to every game that year thanks to a certain player.
“ yes, come on in, ” he noticed her taking his advice before he could finish giving it, but didn’t comment. “ we’ve been discussing defensive theory the past few classes, i thought it was high time we left the theory behind. ” at least being alone afforded him more freedom in his teaching. “ theory is important, but without practice it’s useless. ” he pushed off the table to lead her to an area of the room he’d cleared of the usual desks and stools.

“Thank you sir, I’m sure madame Hooch will want an explanation as to why her Gryffindor seeker hasn’t shown up to practice yet.” Is she teasing him or is she bragging? For a moment she feels as if can’t help her impulses and she finds herself biting down on her lower lip to keep herself from saying anything more, keeping the words from spilling out of her mouth. She watches him closely, the way his body moves, when he bends over or straightens up- there’s something so intoxicating about the way his body is at the mercy of his height. She waits patiently for the note that would excuse her, taking advantage of every single second she spends in his presence. Before he can even extend his hand to offer her the note, she’s reaching for it, her fingers brushing against his. Her eyes flick up towards his, once again illuminated with burning desire, but as soon as that flame had been ignited, it is extinguished.
“Thank you,” she repeats weakly, pulling her hand away from his. “I’ll see you tonight.” She offers him one last smile before turning and heading out of the classroom, her pace quicker than usual, her robes billowing behind her as she makes her way to the quidditch field.
***
Rey is impatient for their first lesson and the mere thought of spending more time with the man had her all sorts of distracted. She had nearly fallen off of her broom several times in practice, had dropped a vile of venom in potions, and had nearly blown up her cauldron. She was a mess. But as time passed and drew nearer to her next meeting with Professor Solo, she found herself suddenly composed. As if seeing him was comforting to her, as if it would make up for such a hectic day. As if seeing him would erase the humiliation she had faced in potions or the injuries she could have sustained in quidditch practice. Before she even steps foot in his class she knows his mere presence would ease her stress. And it does.
“Good evening professor.”
rey was incredibly bright and talented and ben wondered why she didn’t have a boyfriend. he had only just begun working there, so it was possible she’d gotten out of a relationship form the previous year, though he still found it peculiar. perhaps she didn’t want to date, but it seemed even her peers failed to notice how incredible she was. though, a selfish part of him was almost glad she didn’t have anyone trying to win her affection.
he let her go with a quick goodbye and fell into his chair. ‘ solo, what the hell are you thinking? ’ he thought to himself. he could barely focus when she was in a class full of students, take away all that? he was an idiot for suggesting this, but it was too late now. ben shook his head to try and clear the thoughts. he was a professor and he would be perfectly professional.
~
ben had waited outside his office, so she wouldn’t have to come find him. he looked up from the objects he’d been cleaning and smiled to himself at how much difference the simple lack of formal wear made. she almost looked more grown up. “ right on time, ” he said with a pleased smile, as he stood and moved over to lean against the table he’d been sat at. “ i take it madam hooch had no trouble with the note? ” not that there would be reason to, but he was making polite small talk out of habit.

Rey looks back towards him, studying him for a moment with the smile she usually wore when she was trying to convince everyone she was paying attention. A smile that hid the true nature of her thoughts. “That works for me.” Her voice is different now, her tone flat and insincere but she means well. She’s only trying to conceal the thoughts swirling in her head. Part of her wishes he had taken her up on the offer of breaking the rules together, but she knew that could only happen in her fantasies. “I’ll meet you back here? Do I have to wear my robes or does my sweater work?” She doesn’t know how casual these meetings would be, but she knows how casual she wants them to be.
The woman pulls herself from her place beside the window and takes a few steps towards the man. “Thank you, Professor Solo. I promise I’ll pay attention in our lessons. I won’t let you down.” She can’t afford to fail, that would break her father’s heart. “I’ll see you tonight.”
at her question he took pause. her robes were the correct answer. it was class time even if alone and he needed to make sure he kept all their meeting strictly professional. okay good, easy answer to an easy question. just tell her to wear her robes. “ you’re sweater will be fine. ” great. now he wasn’t even listening to himself anymore! this could only lead to bad things.
the softer and more unsure tone that accompanied the title had him imagining how much sweeter it would sound whispered in darkness, behind closed doors, alone. a much different atmosphere than the one that currently hung. as she stepped closer to him he felt his back straighten, bringing him to his full height a good head taller than the young woman. “ i’m sure you won’t, ms. kenobi, ” he breathed. “ you should get going, i’ll write you a note for your tardiness, ” since it was still the middle of the school day.

It takes a moment for his proposal to register in her mind but when it finally does she can’t help the smile that spreads across her freckled face. “I think I could benefit from private lessons, sir-” there’s that damned word again. Rey shifts uncomfortably, adjusting the strap of her bag so her books didn’t weigh her down. “I’m free in the evenings just before dinner. Unless you teach a class then, we could do it after dinner. I know students aren’t supposed to be out of their common rooms or dormitories that late, but if it was for lessons I’m sure we could get away with it.” What was she playing at?
The young woman feels a hot blush creep up her neck and she turns away from him in shame, using the window as an excuse to hide her face from him. “You have a really good view from here…” She didn’t really care about that. She just wanted to stop the racing thoughts, wanted to prevent him from reading her too well. She must be crazy. She’s only just barely an adult, and not a very well held together adult at that. Older than most of her classmates, she still struggled with the hardships of youth and the lack of freedom she had growing up with such a concerned father. If Obi-Wan ever knew she had feeling for her teacher, he would be so disappointed in her. She’s already convinced his life would have been easier if he never took her in.
“We could start tonight.”
he wished desperately that she would stop saying that word and in that way. but he couldn’t exactly ask for her to call him anything else. he wasn’t quite sure he’d be able to handle ‘ professor ’ if it was dripped in the same sinful honey as their current choice.
at her offer ben feel’s his collar get tighter, though it must be his imagination. he watches her, her eyes and smile, and he almost thought there was a hint of something far too close to what he was working so hard to keep hidden on his own features. but, he was sure it was just wishful thinking. she was just an innocent girl who wants to pass his class, nothing more.
“ i’m not sure that after dinner would be very appropriate, ” he was quick to say, as he really couldn’t risk such things.
the alone time alone was going to be enough, no need to add the atmosphere that came with night time and rule breaking. that edge that helped push confidence to unhealthy place. at least for him.
“ before dinner is fine, ” he’d make the time. “ no need to bring your books either, just your wand. ” ben favored the practical approach and while he couldn’t do so in his class at all times, privately he had more freedom. “ an hour and a half before we eat. ” that way she wouldn’t have to rush from the class to the dining hall.

Rey was in her final year at Hogwarts and the pressure to graduate was on. When she wasn’t busy studying for her classes, she was trying to figure out what she wanted to do after school, trying to learn who she wanted to be. She thought she had made up her mind the year prior that she would join the ministry, but she had ultimately proved to be undecided. Her adoptive father was supportive of her but encouraged her to do something useful, something helpful. As a pureblood wizard she could use her talents and her status to make a stand on the war against muggles. She could use her powers for good to help defeat the darkness- but she couldn’t help but feel that same darkness beckon her, seducing her to stray from her chosen path. That was why she was uncertain of her life after Hogwarts, uncertain if she would succumb to the darkness or rise to fight. She was already confused when the school year began, already so worn down from fighting her impulses and struggling to find out who she really was. And then there was him.
As if she wasn’t already destined to fail her classes this semester, he threw her completely off her rhythm. Where she had once been attentive and curious, she found herself suddenly absorbed in fantasy. She would watch him closely each class, hearing his voice but ignoring the words that came from his lips. She was learning nothing and her dark impulses grew stronger. When he mentioned having her stay behind after class, her heart began to pound wildly in her chest. Being alone with him was something that thrilled her and she knew that could only lead to trouble.
He expresses so much concern that for a moment she’s touched and forgets how nervous she had been to see him alone. “No sir-” that word drips from her tongue deliciously, a gesture of obedience and that damned fatal attraction. Her body tenses, her hazel eyes staring into his with an unwavering intensity. She wonders if he could feel it too, the swelling heat that radiated between them. The Gryffindor rolls her shoulders, shaking off the tension as she breaks her gaze from his. “I guess my mind has been preoccupied with other things, professor. I know I can do better-” her voice becomes strained, the words feel heavy in her mouth. “I can do better but I’ve been…distracted.”
Her eyes flicker up to meet his once more, golden fire reflected in her hues. A fire she would willingly allow to consume her, to swallow her whole and condemn her- if only he wanted it too.
merlin, was he being tortured? he knew he’d be punished one day for his youthful discrepancies, but this? she was his student for christ’s sake! barely even an adult by wizard standards. ben himself was already twenty five, almost ten years her senior. off by only two years. what was he thinking? he’d at least been wise enough to draw a line firmly for himself. as long as he didn’t cross it, everything would be fine. he could do this.
he felt his breath catch at how sinful the address sounded coming from her. glad he knew it hadn’t been detectable. he thought something like formalities would help, it seemed it was only making things worse. and the poor girl, she had no idea what she was doing to him. would be repulsed if she knew.
and shit! she had to go look at him like that. “ i know you can too, ” he spoke calmly despite the raging emotions and thoughts. “ you’re very clever, and i’ve come to expect better of you, ” it wasn’t scolding, simply confused. “ perhaps the class is too busy, your classmates causing too many distractions, ” ben could tell where he himself was going with this and his mind screamed to retreat, to pull back before he did something he regretted. “ what are you’re thoughts on private lessons? ” merlin’s beard, was he suddenly a masochist?
