Dremel tool can rotate at a very high speed. The speed can be 10,000 to 35,000 RPM. This huge speed helps you to cut the glass easily.
You can make a very high-quality cut with a Dremel tool and if you have a steady hand. You cannot expect a good cut if your hand is not steady and you cannot hold the tool steady.
Let’s take a look, how to use Dremel to cut glasses in the following article.
 Inserting the Multipurpose Cutting Blade
Tumblr media
There are many blades and attachments come with the Dremel tool. All the blades are made for different purposes.
You need a multi-purpose cutting blade to cut glasses with this tool. Before inserting the blade in the tool, unplug the tool from power. Now insert the blade and tighten it properly.
If there is any hesitation in your mind about tightening the blade, use a wrench to make it tight. It is important for the safety of you and the tool.
 Making the Glass Ready
Tumblr media
Before cutting, you have to make the glass ready which you want to cut. Put the glass in a place where it cannot move during the cut. Clamp the glass if it is necessary.
Now, cover the whole glass in both sides with clear packing tape. It will help you to collect the tiny pieces after the cut and will also provide extra protection between the blade and the glass.
 Marking the Glass Before Cutting

Now it’s time for marking the glass. Determine the place on the glass where you want to cut it and mark the selected spot with a marker pen.
If you want to make a straight cut, then use a straightedge to mark the spot.
If you are confident about yourself and cut the glass freehand, don’t use any guideline.

Now when you are all set, it’s time for cutting the glass. To cut the glass, set the tool power between 6 to 8. The cutting angle should be 45 degrees. This angle will allow you to see the cut more widely.
For cutting the glass, you can use a multi-purpose cutting blade in the tool. If you use a diamond tip on the blade, you will get a much better result. You can also use long, thin, conical blades to shape in the corners of the glass. If you want to expose the little detail, these blades can help you in that.
Now, rub soap bar over the marking area. Also rub the soap on the diamond tip. Applying the soap will reduce friction while cutting.
Start cutting the glass at a slow speed. Don’t get rough on the glass. Let the tool cut by itself and don’t put any additional weight and give any pressure on the tool.
After cutting for a while, take a break. Due to the cut, the glass will heat a lot. Put some ice cold water on the cut place. It will stop from getting too hot. Excess heat can demolish the glass in pieces.
Now, when the cut is complete, remove the packing tape and clear the tiny pieces. Make the uneven edges smooth and even with grinder or sander of the Dremel tool. Dremel tool has several sizes of sanding drums.
 Conclusion
To get the best, smoother glass cutting, Dremel is a perfect tool. But only the tool is not enough for the cut. You also should have a steady hand and follow the cutting procedure properly. I hope you will be benefited with the information given above and will be able to cut glasses with the Dremel tool perfectly.
