jaime and brienne didn’t need to ride off on horseback into the sunset together and make babies and live a full life. i couldn’t expect that of game of thrones
but what i really wanted for them, at the end of it all, was to know in their hearts that they were changed because of the other. and that the change mattered. that the realizations and lessons they learned from each other would be carried with them until their last breaths, even if they were apart. that they knew and cared for each other, and were made better for it. that two people fell in love, and it changed them forever

What was the point of Drogon burning the Iron Throne? Bran is still king. Like literally nothing has changed but the name of the ruling family and the level of power held by the king. As an omniscient ruler Bran has something more than absolute power. The wheel isn’t broken, the system isn’t fixed. They killed Dany just to put someone else in her place but the damage is still done and the peasant class and slaves of the world will still suffer.

The Ending Sucks But Brienne Does Not
Here’s what I learned from Brienne.
Loving someone means loving them for all of their parts - the bad and the good.
Loving someone means seeing the good of them, the honor in them, and understanding them.
Loving someone means not letting one bad memory mar an infinity of good.
Loving someone means letting them go when they need to, and still having their back.
Loving someone needs no words.
Loving someone is not being a doormat.
I know many of us may hate that Brienne is a “proverbial” body guard. But that is not what the King’s Guard means for her. All her life she wanted to be a knight, to defend the innocent and protect the weak.
I don’t think her being Lord Commander is simply being a body guard - I see it as Brienne remaining true to her core character - a knight. The best definition of it. The only true definition of it. And now finally here is a knight that deserves it.
And I’m glad she was with Jaime because that means that a woman who is tender and loving and sleeps with the man she loves is also a strong knight. And a strong knight is also a woman with feelings. I think that’s great. Here we have a woman who is strong without being any less of a woman. And that’s always been the question for her right?
So everything sucks, and would I want Jaime to be alive and with her? Yes.
But also I love that she’s Lord Commander.
I love that she’s someone who fell in love.
I’m glad that she’s still someone in love.
Brienne has made me very very proud.
Because she taught me what it means to love.

Brienne’s story ends with her fixing Jaime’s page in the Kingsguard book because apparently all that matters in her story is propping up Jaime’s.
