Reality collision where Billy shows up to school one day with a baby. No one knows who the kid is or why Billy showed up with him; but he waits to corner Steve in the parking lot. Shoves the baby into his arms unceremoniously all - "Take your spawn Harrington."
Steve's never seen this baby in his life, and if anything it looks like Billy. Brown hair sure, but the eyes,chin, and those ears are all Hargrove. He's confused even more when Billy starts babbling about holes opening up on the walls and what sounds like demo-dogs, which he shouldn't even know about!
One thing he is sure of, he definitely didn't get attacked by a demo-dog last night or run into Billy's car out near the powerplant. He definitely didn't give Billy this baby and ask him to take care of it, but someone did.
AKA Billy and Steve get stuck temporarily taking care of their alternate reality baby and it brings them together.

He’s socially adept, an active listener,observant, emotionally aware, self controlled, thrives in chaos, is highly adaptable, and has a solid sense of humor. All signs of high intelligence. Eddie did far worse in school than Steve ever did, and yet fandom doesn’t have the same problem recognizing his obvious intelligence, and it’s rather silly to me that this seems to be because he likes nerdy things. *And to be fair, the writers didn’t go out of their way to poke fun at him and frame him as slow witted.
Steve doesn’t know the science and doesn’t care about the fantasy lore, but that doesn’t mean he’s not keeping up with the same extremely complicated situations as the rest of the party and saving lives while he’s at it. He’s an active partner and a help each season, not a hinderance, so I don’t know what is supposed to be so dumb about him.
When you meet someone who truly lacks the intellectual capacity to process complicated ideas and emotions, as well as problem solve in a logical manner - trust me, you know. You feel that shit in your bones like a car screeching to a halt.
can we talk about how smart Steve actually is. like… putting the pieces together in the mall based off of connecting sound melodies. using himself as a distraction time and time again so the Party/kids don’t get caught in the crossfire.
I feel like at some point the writing behind his character focused on the “unintelligent” side of himbo w/free reign for everyone else to make fun of him

Steve and Billy's babies from my mythology au because I can (I'm totally blaming @/half-oz-eddie for this lmao)
No, they don't have a name or anything. I have no idea how to call them but I'm open to suggestions if you want. For now they are just existing lol
The girl is more an harpy, she got only the ears and the general hair from Steve. Even her tail is made of feathers; the little boy is more a mix between them, and instead of changing his arms, his wings are directly on his back (so they are two separate things).
(Also being them half harpy/half werecat I'm going to consider them some kinda of sphinxes, especially the little one lol)
